Hello Kenz, Congrats on your new journey I too am 3 days out from my surgery & basically pain free. I had to also have an emergency hernia repair surgery. So far I have only committed twice, small amounts of dark Fluid. I am STRUGGLING to consume all the food I am supposed to get in. Other than this, I am feeling really great! Hope you all are doing well also! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I know how you feel, I have been unable to consume all the stuff they put on my sheet. It's crazy how much stuff they want you to take in. SO TIRED OF EATING!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

calling all December 19th sleevers
Ms. McCray2009 replied to newmein2017's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just checking in on everyone. Had my surgery on 12/19/2016. Started out 266, after 3 day clear liquid I lost down to 255 on the day of surgery I was 260. It has been 72 hours later, and I am down 10lbs already. I'm not hurting in any of my incision sites, my pain is my soar throats from the intubation. But I have been gargling with salt and it's just now feeling better. Nervous about getting on the scale to see where I am. I have decided to only weigh in once a week. QUESTION: is anyone having trouble getting all of this Fluid in each day? I am supposed to start drinking at 8AM AND FINISH BY 8PM, but I get so full and can't consume everything The said to drink on the meal sheet. Any advice??? @@slaykay, YAY!!!! I'm an official Sleevers now! WOW!!!! WOW!!!!! WooooowwwwWWWWW! So 1st let me thank you all for your kind words of support & encouragement. I arrived at the hospital @9AM EST here in MD. The hospital staff was so nice, they got me checked in by 9:14 & @10AM I met with my intake nurse, she was okay, but as she explained she had not yet had her morning coffee...anyway. Shortly after meeting with her, I met my anesthesiologist who was really cool, and then my doc came in to ask if I was ready for show time. I said yes, and 2 hours later I was in the recovery room with my daughter staring at me like I was an alien. LOL! It was done, oh I forgot to mention I had a huge hernia that they had to repair first before the sleeve, this is why my procedure took longer. The first day of surgery I slept most of the day, but by nightfall I had gotten up, gave myself a wash up all by myself. And took my first stroll down the hospital corridor. It didn't hurt much at all, The actual only pain I had was my throat being super soar, but other than that I have survived. I got up the next morning with some crazy chest pains, they did an EKG, my heart ❤️ is fine, it had to be the gas. They gave me Pepcid liquid form and pain killer, I started passing gas & it all went away. They let me come home early! Got home and my children came to visit. I opted not to stay at my daughter's because I was feeling so good. About 4 AM this morning I started puking my brains out. This brown liquid... ughhhh gross!!! I felt a bit dizzy and my tummy felt like I had just had a C Section. I hopped on the pain Med (OxyCodine liquid, and took the promethazine for upset stomach. I finally got back in bed, dosed off until 7:30 and am now on my meal routine (see attached). I feel good, taking it really easy & doing a ton of cat naps. I started out 267, at my preop I was 266, day of surgery weight was 257. I have had to change my eating & drinking habit, and it feels good!!! I just finished my 3 rd walk for today, and then I feel another nap coming on. Best wishes to all!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Hello Newmein2017, I'm having surgery at 11AM tomorrow. I'm excited, just not sleeping much, spending a LOT of time sitting on the white throne. This clear liquid diet is awesome!!! I've already dropped 11 lbs. I started Thursday night. Clear liquids (broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free Jello, gatoraide zero, and Water. AND nothing by mouth after midnight tonight. I had to pick up my prescriptions before hand and other miscellaneous items to pack for my stay at the hospital. I also purchased everything I will need for my smoothies once I am cleared for that. I am lactose intolerant so I won't be able to do the whey Protein Isolate, I am doing Pea Protein & Hemp Protein Isolate powders. I bought a ton of the Lift Protein Water by Atkins & Isopure Protein Water been sipping on that these past couple of days. I have gas tabs that dissolve in mouth & gas strips. I have Calcium with Vitamin D, Biotin for my hair, Kosher herbal laxative, B12 dissolving tabs to put under my tongue for energy after surgery clearance. A new set of PJs and slippers for the hospital and a journal which my doctor & nutritionist suggested I use pre & post surgery. I think that is it. Oh & SUGAR FREE JELLO!!! Ms. McCray2009 replied to OhHeyMarina's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Replying to #1 Post on 12/14/2016 - "Every who has had surgery already, how are you feeling?! How was your experience? And to everyone waiting for their surgeries, are you excited?! Hows pre op going? I'm assuming most have started by now and if not are you dreading starting like I was?! haha, i have 2 more sleeps till my surgery and I'm so ready for it to be over with!!!!" I am doing good, other than not sleeping much (cat napping all weekend - not one ounce of REM sleep since Thursday night) but I am sure that is expected with the excitement of anticipation of my surgery tomorrow. I have already lost 11 ;bs with this clear liquid diet that I have been on for 3 days (pre op), I'm already feeling like a better me - working towards the best me! I haven't packed my bag yet, but I have everything I need, just need to put it in the bag for the hospital. I am single, and was concerned about coming home from surgery alone, so I will also be packing a back to take with me when I leave the hospital because I will be staying at my daughter's home until I feel comfortable bringing my new tummy home. I essentially have purchased everything I need, the Protein isolate, (I am not doing the whey, I am doing the P Protein Isolate powder because of being lactose intolerant. I bought the Biotin tabs for hair loss prevention & support, the Vitamins, the protein waters, gas tabs, chapstick, and other items. I picked up my prescriptions from the pharmacy already, and waiting to head to the hospital in the morning. i plan to do my BEFORE photos tonight & my final pre surgery weigh in, and if I can figure out how to save info on this website, I will update my profile. I plan on taking it easy today, and just continuing to drink drink drink these Clear Liquids up until bedtime tonight. . I am super excited, I am the "glass have full" kind of lady, and I always look for the positives, in life, and not put emphasis or focus on the negatives. I look for the lessons to be learned from them, and how I can turn them into positives, you know LEMONS into LEMONADE. I am sure we all have had or will have some concerns about this life altering decision we have made, and procedure we have had or are about to have, and I hope that we won't let the negative thoughts rob us of the positive impact this will have in & on our lives. We all want and need something better, or we wouldn't have made the choice to do this. I hope we can continue to glean from each others post all of the wisdom shared by those who have already had their procedures, knowledge that we have, and real life testimonies about our day to day successes. I know there may be some pain and discomfort (that is true with any surgery), I know that this new tummy & new lifestyle will require some getting used to, but I a more than confident that WE CAN DO THIS!!! so let's take the bull by the horns and ride on to victory!!! (and NO I have not been drinking - alcohol, LOL) just super excited for all of us!!!! have a great day! Happy Weight Losing Everyone!!! -

Well Everyone, Tomorrow morning is my big day! I'm really excited, I'm doing more cat napping than really sleeping, but I figured this was probably normal seeing how my adrenaline is pumping so much! I got on the scale yesterday morning, and with this clear liquid diet, I have already lost 11 LBS, from 266 down to 255. I can even tell in my clothing that I have lost weight. I know this is just the beginning of BETTER THINGS TO COME!!! YAY!! Task for today is to PACK my small bag for the hospital & big bag for my stay at my daughter's after leaving the hospital. I will do my best to check in with everyone BEFORE & AFTER and I continue to pray US ALL success on our journeys. Have an amazing day!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
