  1. Here's a nice article, science based, about where I get my proteins from, having a Whole Foods plant based diet.

My problem is that the only legumes I eat are peanuts. I also don't eat tofu. So for me to reach my protein goal I would have to rely heavily on protein shakes, which is something I don't want. I want to get my protein from food, and there is no way I could eat the amount of food it would take when I don't eat legumes or tofu. And I have tried, they just don't sit well with me, or they make me trow up.

I don't eat tofu either. I do eat a pretty big variety of plant based dishes though that has a lot of greens and legumes (and grains) in them. I've also come to the conclusion that I don't focus on how much protein I'm getting. I know through a Whole Foods plant based diet I'm getting what my body needs. I'm still searching for proof/research/science behind wls and why the protein need is so high. It doesn't make sense to me, that the only physical difference in the sleeve (I can't speak for the other surgeries) is the fact that the stomach is smaller. It didn't change anything else, so why so much? Therefore, I don't worry anymore and I seem to be just fine. I get blood work today. Did you know that only 3% of Americans are protein deficient? The rest of us get plenty. So I don't know what the hype is anymore.

No. I do know what th hype is...marketing and media. Otherwise if the actual studies of a Whole Foods plant based diet were EVERYWHERE there would be a whole lot less heart disease, obesity, hypertension, even suicide.
