    Workout with no restrictions

Like @Cinnahs says, free weights to start. Carry some 3lb-ers or 5lbers while you walk...doing arm curls, etc. Or you can even do bodyweights for strength. I've mentioned an app to someone the other day that gets you started. I'll have to find it.

    Workout with no restrictions

Pilates does work the core and is strengthening. it was my choice of core workout when I was younger. and you will burn calories. same as yoga. You'll have to try it.

    Oh my Lord!

I'm ranting and raving that there are too many encouraging people here!!! Bahahahajajaja! I say this in the utmost sarcasm, of course. So....please, if you can't take an encouraging post as an encouragement or even as constructive criticism, which is encouraging, then just don't reply to a post. save us all from having to read your arguments. Thanks!!!!

    Weight Gain After Sleeve

This is what I'm thinking about.....no more fad and yo-yo dieting!!! That's what got us where we are/were in the first place right? It's a TOTAL lifestyle change.
  9. UP and down on the weight, sounds more like Water. Try watching your salt intake. There are other factors for fluctuating weight, like stress & bloating (usually due to high fat/salt food/drinks). If I were you, I'd probably take a water pill the day before my last weigh in and take so milk of magnesia to clean out my system. LOL Just to be on the safe side. My insurance doesn't require a weight loss either, and I'm doing my best not to gain as well. So I understand what you are going through. I have a feeling I might be a few pounds heavier at my next appt only because I'm weight training. I usually gain (due to muscle) before I start losing--but l always lose inches --which in my mind should be the ultimate way to "weigh" ourselves unless you use the old fashioned caliper method (the best method of measuring body fat). Anyway, blessings on your journey!

Weight Training Plans similar to Couch to 5K

You're welcome. Hope it all works out for you. If I was motivated to work out at home, I would probably use this app. Looks pretty good. I like the gym though. Blessings!

    Please

My profile says Pre Surgery, but the little list on the left side of the screen doesn't say anything. Is there another place I'm supposed to mark to make it appear?

Weight Training Plans similar to Couch to 5K

I'm not too familiar with the Couch to 5K, although I've heard the name many times. But I did google an app for weight training home for ya. Here's an app that looks promising for what you might be looking for. Check out the reviews, etc. train.bmp
  16. My kids got me in to JUST DANCE on the PS4.  I have no idea why we didn't have this before!!!!!  I danced basically all night with my 7 year old, my husband kept telling us it was time to turn off, and then we'd pick another song and keep on going.  My knees are taking a beating today though.  :(  She's actually playing it again as I'm updating my status.  LOL

So....pysch evaluation tomorrow! I'll give an update for how it goes!  I'm Pysched!!! LOL  Pun intended. :D

  17. I've got to get that Mixed Chicks stuff, heard a lot of good about it.
  18. I have to take that chance then, because lowering the chance of cancer, diabetes, and everything in between, is greater than acid reflux that I already know how it is, for me. Yes, it is my decision. And yes, the surgeon won't be living in my body. One thing I will be living is by faith that I won't have this as bad or ever after the surgery. You see, I'm a born believer. I live by faith (or try to most times--I'm far from perfect). I have total peace about this WLS with my God that I trust His plans and not mine, nor any surgeons, or even anybody's bad experiences shared on BP. So, although I appreciate the concern, I won't and will not accept any words that will negatively impact the decision for me to move forward.
  19. I have it pre-op too. But it's all triggered by certain foods. I stay away, it doesn't come up. So, I'm learning to stay far away. Another poster's NUT suggested peppermint/ginger oil. I'm a fan of apple cider vinegar too. Natural ways are always good and worth trying. Good to have a bottle of tums too. I'm excited and have faith I won't be dealing with it to the extreme post-op like you. [emoji4] thanks for sharing!!!
  20. @AnneElliotI'm so sorry to hear that. I truly wish you all the best too hon. Take care of yourself and I hope all turns out well for you.
  21. @AnneElliot, is the only reason why you regret the surgery due to acid reflux? I read your response in another post somewhere too. There are ways to manage it. Please get with your doc and get it taken care of. @shaylady08, I believe you'll be fine! You'll be an upgraded you too! I'll be about 2 months after you and I'm looking forward to it. It takes faith to go through with this and expect everything to be 100% on the other side. Obviously, it may not be, but to add more life to our years without the weight to hinder us trumps it all, in my opinion.

    FEELING THE PRESSURE

I'm pre-op, but are you looking for tips for just making changes beforehand or the actual 1-2 week pre-op diet? I can't give you any tips on the latter, but before that, is learning to not drink anything while eating. Which is the hardest thing ever. I still haven't really nailed it and sip sip sipping, which I still haven't mastered either. But like you, I am doing Protein drinks too. Mine are replacing Breakfast and are plant based.
  24. I've got a pysch evaluation on Monday! I have a feeling this lady is going to be pretty thorough, simply for the paperwork she had me do beforehand (of which I have NO IDEA where it is!) ....guess I better find it.

Also, I started a job back in September of last year.  One of the superintendents on the field told me yesterday, "Congratulations! You've out lasted all the others!" ...but now I know why, the wifey boss isn't someone you want to work for.  I deal with it. I've managed to keep my mouth shut.  I've had harder bosses before, but if it gets worse, I'll have to say something.  Totally off topic, but anyway, it was on my mind just now.

    Guilt.

I don't see a problem with enjoying something you know you most likely won't be "pigging out" on again in the future. Maybe a healthier alternative later. But that's just me. I don't eat out too often now, so it's not going to affect me so much. I did have some Whataburger the other day, but got a grilled chicken sandwich (what I normally would get) and no fries or drink. I don't like soda anyway. So, that was my food funeral for that particular restaurant. Granted, I'm still a few months till surgery, but if I want something, I'm gonna have it. BUT I have noticed since I've changed most of my diet now, my body isn't handling anything high fat, sugary, or salty anymore. I literally feel sick to my stomach, so I am forced to not really have too much of a food funeral anyhow. I might do myself in with some chips & queso as some point though.
