    Here is my story

Sometimes the breaking point makes us move forward to go through. My reasons are different but I'm about 100 pounds heavier than my husband now too. I've always known I was heavier but goodness, now that I'm writing it out, it feels so awful knowing it. I can totally sympathize with you!!!! Anyhow, congrats on moving forward and taking care of yourself hon. I'm excited for you. ??

GOT SLEEVED? My journey begins 02/20/17

Congratulations on taking the step to a better and HEALTHIER you! Many people are judgmental because of ignorance. They do not know about WLS. Until they educate themselves, we who have done our homework have to deal with them, unfortunately. I hope and wish you all the best and many blessings on your journey hon.

    Plastic Surgery?

Lol. That just might be a multi billion dollar idea somehow! . Happy for you. Enjoy your new tummy!!!
  9. Newme17

    Any regrets?

Did you have WLS without doing homework? Is that what you mean? You didn't know the risk involved or what could happen? I've been researching for two years! I've read many good, bad, and ugly reviews. Just like anything we need to educate ourselves. If not, then yes, you're in for a surprise! People need to decide for themselves based on facts and stories of journeys posted. Not because someone tells them to not go through it.

    Any regrets?

Great job!!!! I'm happy for you hon. [emoji4]

    Any regrets?

I still regret trading in my beautiful truck for a car!!! But I don't go around telling people not to buy it because IT IS still a nice car. Therefore...well, I shouldn't have to explain the sleeve in the same terms. Lol

    Quick question??

Made me chuckle. I'm pretty sure you can implement caffeinated tea back. But since you've done so well without it, is it because you're looking for a good pick me up in the afternoons? Or just taste better?

    Cookbook for after Surgery

Great question. I don't but am interested too. I'm gonna look on Amazon as well. Thanks for asking!
  15. Oh. I thought you were meaning just plain chicken broth like from a can or boullion cube. I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe a different flavor of bone broth? Perhaps there's an ingredient in the Sam's one that is triggering the reflux? Or even the beef one, if it has the same ingredient? I know a lot people like the Dr Axe bone broths. They're powdered. Maybe there will be some reviews about it and heartburn. Worth a research.

    On my way to surgery!

That's right! I had forgotten your sleeve is today! Well, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY hon! Have a great day! I'm excited and expecting a great report from you.

    Got my call

    Congratulations! It'll be here soon!
  18. I think I replied here previously about not telling my parents. Well, I told my mother today and to my astonishment, she's on board and supports me. I'm so happy about it!
  19. Totally off sleeve topic, but a lady ran into me with her car yesterday.  I cannot workout now, because I've got pretty bad shoulder pain.  I was buckling my little one in to her car seat yesterday when the car door started to shut on me (I thought it was wind--gets pretty windy here), so I stand up only to turn around and see a car crushing me in between the door and the frame of my car!!!! The older lady finally moved up and released me.  I didn't realize the pain at the time cause I was in shock! She was too and she was sorry.  Because it was on private property, the police wouldn't go out.  So, I got her insurance info (which wasn't her car, btw) and I filed a claim.  The insured called me. I thought "Okay I don't have to talk, but I'll be civil"  and I told her what happened.  She all of a sudden didn't believe me when I told her I was on the way to the urgent care center to get my shoulder checked at the advise of her insurance company.  She started asking questions offensively.  She says "well, I'm going to call the school (our kid's go there) and get the video since they have it." I told her go ahead, I'm telling you everything you'll see.  Anyway, the school only has video of the inside so there's nothing there.  The adjuster called and asked info.  She's nice enough.  I told her about the phone call, she says I do not have to talk with the insured at all.  I also told her she thinks I'm lying.  A little later, the adjuster calls me saying she's getting a different story.  SMH! I told her that I had a feeling that would happen, but it doesn't take away from what really happened.  Anyway, I'm home today, my shoulder is hurting me pretty bad.  I reenacted photos with my husband to show the position I was in for my injury and submitted that.  I even did a diagram of the parking lot to show how the car was hit, etc.  (Man, I should be in Judge Judy, eh?) LOL  So, the only thing that is carrying me through is this:

Teach me your way, Lord. lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.  Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations. I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord....." Ps 27:11-13

    God's got my back! :)

  20. Two things:

Pysch Eval:  AWESOME! It was so nice.  I had a great time talking to the lady.  She had a lot of good and encouraging remarks for me. "You will do very well." We just talked about different things, she asked me stuff about medical history, family medical history.  Asked me what I want out of the sleeve.  Preventive care and to wear my wedding ring again.  :) She said she's never heard about the ring thing before.  We laughed a lot too.  At the end, she says "You're the person I would have a great time talking to all afternoon."  hehe. I told her I would if I didn't have to pick up the kids.  I enjoyed it.

Second thing, I finally told my mom! BIG SIGH!!!!  Oh man, I thought she would flip...but she did the exact opposite!  "Please don't tell me its the bypass?" she asked.  LOL  I said "No, it's the sleeve" She says "Oh GOOD!" (Her opinions on the bypass are strictly hers, so I don't want any negative remarks about my mother's opinion please! LOL  ANYWAY, we talked for an hour and I told her what I'll be doing and what I have been doing.  She's on board. YAY!!!! SUCH A HUGE RELIEF!!! SO RELIEVED THAT I'M CRYING HAPPY TEARS!!!!

The Lord is TRULY GOOD to me. :)

    Greek yogurt:( yuck !

It takes me an hour to eat a greek yogurt, and I'm pre-op. I just dip my spoon in it and lick it off. I'm slowly training my buds to like it. Something about the texture I just don't care for.

    Scared of the pain!!

Awesome points! I'm going in like this. I've been proclaiming and claiming minimal pain, hey wait, I'm claiming no pain at all! Yep. Walking in Faith here.....

    Scared of the pain!!

Have faith hon that your pain will be next to nothing. And if it's more than you can bear, please ask for more meds. The hospital staff is there to keep you in comfort.
