    My pre-op diet is weird

I'd just do your own pre-op. Follow one that someone here (or all of them here) have used. They'd never know.
  2. Wow wee! You made it happen. Great job and you're so pretty before and after. What a gift! 😊 Your story, like so many others, is what keeps me moving forward with my journey. Thank you so much for sharing too!!!

    Signs when you're full

Eat to content. Feels like you COULD take another bite or two but you don't. Like @OutsideMatchInside says, "by the time you get the signal to your brain you've overeaten". <-----this is those few bites after contentment.

    Sip your Veggies

I'm all for adding in my veggies to smoothies. I usually do it. Most people think they can't get the recommended amount daily in, but it's really not as much as we think. I found an article that shows pictures of how much a daily serving of fruits and veggies look like. We could totally do this. I also agree to not Juice, simply for added benefits and not just natural sugars and carbs as @Andrea F said. But post-op, it might be a while before getting it all in including all the protein too. But it can be doable. Obviously, 2000 calories would be for the right height/weight/activity level for said person. But this doesn't even seem like a lot and it isn't. http://www.thekitchn.com/10-photos-that-show-you-your-daily-recommended-servings-of-fruits-vegetables-207261 Someone who needs 2000 calories a day should eat: 2 cups of fruit 2 1/2 cups of vegetables

Why does the Dr's staff suck everywhere?

I wish I had an answer and sorry you have to deal with that. But have you thought maybe she might be out for some reason. Doesn't excuse that someone else can't call back, but there could be XYZ factors all over why you haven't received a call. Best bet, charge in there in person and take care of the deed. Bet you'll get your answers then. 😊

    Subway lovers beware! Eeeeeeh!

I only ate the chicken and turkey. Now I'm a little paranoid. I won't be eating there anymore anyway. Once sleeved, it'll be a waste of money for something I can't finish anyway. my kids won't touch subway and my hubby never likes what I get. So....
  8. Got my iv in. They talked with me. Had some pain in my hand from the med. weird. Then I was out. Woke up a bit groggy but good. No pain at all. Just tired. You will be fine. 😊
  9. Yes I agree. He's got a plan for us and we are in His will. 😊Congratulations! 🎊🎈

    Let's do this

    Yay! Be blessed!
  11. I have thought of it, but the hubby said no. ? so that's that. It's more of the unknown of what could potentially happen. So, I'm jumping hoops and waiting. It's all good though. I really do think there's better preparation to having it in the states. My opinion, of course.

    Feeling Discouraged

My surgeon didn't suggest bypass, rather I told him why I won't have it. He was ok with it. Ultimately, you know it's your choice. Go with your gut, your intuition, the facts you have for you. I'm pretty sure your surgeon will be on board with you no matter what you decide. Oh, and I have acid reflux now too, I am not a stat either. ?

What can I do with...Ricotta Cheese

Another ricotta cheese recipe: Good for when you're craving chocolate or something sweet •ricotta cheese •mix in some unsweetened cocoa or cacao •packet of sweetener (stevia, etc)
  14. I can't speak for BCBS, but most insurances require you to have a bmi of 40 or more with or with co morbidities. A lower bmi, in your case, is usually accepted only if you have a co-morbidity or two. Thus, many opt to go to Mexico if you don't meet the requirements. But I'm sure someone who has BCBS could and will definitely weigh in here for a clearer answer.

    Transformation Tuesday

Hey, nothing beats having the Lord on our side!!!! How exciting. I ask that He directs all hands in your surgery on Tuesday. That He shows how miraculous and giving and loving He is throughout it all and post op! In jesus' name. Amen. ?

    ONEDERLAND!!!!

Great job! I'm happy for you. ?
  17. Went to a little cousin's bday party and ate terribly. Nothing healthy to eat. Now I know for sure I'll need to always have food on hand that I should and could eat.

I'm gonna have to. My surgery will be in two months or so and I've got to get a hold of myself both mentally and physically. Thanks for the tips.

I'm acknowledging all day today too, unfortunately. I think it's all a head game at this point. I'm super motivated and write what im gonna do, make lists, and then nada. Nothing happens. Sooooooo, taking a big deep breath here and starting all over again! I thank God, cause His mercies are new every morning. 😊

  18. I wonder if it's possible to do your post op diet as blandly as possible. ??? When I had Gerd, I switch my diet to bland food. Lost 13 lbs because I wasn't eating--due to that horrible stuck feeling in my chest too. I also took Dr Axe Leaky Gut Repair for a while and haven't had it since. But I wouldn't know about taking that stuff so soon after surgery. Hope you find something to help. I do know essential oils can help but as I don't use them consistently, I don't know which ones exactly. But I'll be getting myself some soon for just in case. I need to research it.
  19. Yeah, the first thing I thought is an Iron deficiency. Definitely check in on it since your labs seem to be fine.
  20. Well I haven't had my surgery yet, but I've had a few that have been done laparoscopically and yes, incision sites can take a while to heal completely. I've had a c-section too and the scar is still sore sometimes (mostly itchy), and that was over three years ago. Some things just take time.

    Suggestions

That's a great idea! I think I'll be doing the same. I love the surgeon and staff of the center where I go. They're so nice and doing everything for me. Flowers, fruit, gift certificates-movies, massages, cash gift cards, a nice handwritten letter of appreciation....
  22. Everyone around me knows. I've got support. If they don't support, they haven't said anything and I don't care really. In the beginning I only told my husband and my brother. But decided to just let them (family, close friends, coworkers (only have 3 of them)) all know.
  23. This made me smile...so in other words, EVERYONE. Lol

    Acid reflux

I have acid reflux, food related, and am getting the sleeve. I'm having faith it won't be an issue afterwards. No one can say I will have it because I've read many experiences of people who had it and don't afterwards. Also of having it worse afterwards. So, yeah, by faith I'm believing I won't have it afterwards or it'll still always be food related (High fats, spicy, acidic) and I just stay away from these things anyway.
  25. on days you workout you should plan to up your calorie intake. And days you don't, eat the calories you need to maintain or need a slight loss (if you still need to lose weight) your calorie intake now isn't meant for long term unless you're 4'2 and 80lbs. Check out these calculators: http://eatmore2weighless.com/weight-loss-calculator/ or https://www.iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ hope this helps!
