    How a stall helped me

    How a stall helped me

Yay!!!! I'm glad you had listened to your nutritionist to eat more! Our bodies cannot sustain such a low intake of food/calories for so long. Break those stalls with a few more bites. Good for you. And thank you for sharing this, I hope many are encouraged when they get to a stall.
  4. oops....sorry too. thought it was a general "guys" as in everyone.

    Craving spaghetti

Hope you find something pleasing. I don't like pasta so I'm in the clear. But, I've been looking for ways to change my kid's love of pasta and hoping they might not notice. 😕
  6. Sooo awesome! You look great! Nice beaming smile!!!! 😁
  7. 😂 that was a nice chuckle. Congrats! Here's to a new you! 😊
  8. Most of my life I was a healthy weight up till 2008 when I married and started having kids. Stress and boredom got me where I am today. My goal weight is at a normal bmi, because that's where I can literally feel myself being again. It'll put me at 23.2. But because I'm older and have had kids (body changed), I don't mind 150-160 either, as long as I'm pumping muscle. If I'm not working out 🏋 with heavy weights, then I'll shoot for 145. But then again, I really don't care to think of numbers. If I'm happy and healthy without all this fat, then that's what I'll take. 😊
  9. Our diet makes up over 80% of our physique. You are absolutely right! Watch what we eat. 😊Look at you. All smiles!!!! Great job too hon.
  10. This is wonderful! Congratulations hon!
  11. I'm required to pay in full before. I'm sure I could work something out if I wanted to, but I'd rather just get the $2000 paid and be done with it. I suspect there might be one or two bills to follow???? Usually is after surgeries, but I hope I'm wrong for this one.
  12. You just said exactly what I was thinking. I second this.
  13. Major headache! And I'm not even on the pre-op diet yet.  My husband decided to buy me all decaffeinated coffees...SMH.  I'm thinking, "ok...I'll just use them/get used to them"  Trying to not give in to regular since I've already got this darn headache.  I might as well as play it out now, cause I don't want to do it again during the pre-op.

Good luck with that! Luckily I'm not a coffee drinker so I didn't need to face that withdrawal, but I met a few people who were struggling with it when I was in Mexico.

    Two weeks clear liquid

    You can do it!!!
  15. First step (again) I bought a small daily journal. I've been writing what I eat and protein grams. It's been helpful to be mindful of what I place in my mouth. It's only been one day and a half, but it's a step in the right direction. I used to do this with calories a long time ago. Seems like this time it's less of a headache counting. Not sure why, but I'm glad it's working for me. Now, I just need to stick to it!

  16. Definitely buying the hydrochloric acid supplements and trying them out. I love to read reviews on amazon and this one is uplifting. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/review/B000M4CD2C/RECVRWNH5N9CL/ref=cm_cr_dp_mb_rvw_1?ie=UTF8&cursor=1

    Cold Feet

This AND should they need to lose more weight still, to up their caloric intake. Some are not eating enough and wrecking the metabolism as you posted. I usually share this all over: unless you are 4'2 and 80lbs, then you're not meant to be eating 1200 calories for the rest of your life.

    April sleevers!?

    Thank you!!!
  19. I'm equally excited for you! I ask for many blessings to come your way too. Seems like you've got great surgeons and staff working for you as well. What a blessing! I'm a 40H and am looking forward to losing the weight on the boobs and getting them lifted too. Yay for a new you all over again!
  20. I've actually done both tests. The EGD and the Upper GI. I wasn't awake at all for the EGD and it wasn't uncomfortable at all for the Upper GI (had it few years back).

    Cold Feet

We all can lose the weight without surgery but only 2% of people who lose over 100lbs, keeps it off. My surgeon gave me stats. I have tried many times on my own. Didn't get very far. End up gaining it back. I guess I'm one of the 98%. But as another poster mentioned, if you don't have health issues now (this is me-besides my joints and aches and pains), than it's also a great way to prevent those from happening. Not impossible, but to get the weight off and start living better sooner rather than later is exactly why I'm doing this.

    Signs when you're full

You are absolutely right. I didn't think of food addictions. I have never had an addiction so I can't speak from experience like that. But I'm glad you brought that up.
  23. I didn't have such a great day eating wise. Good grief! So I guess I was down in the dumps... "well, you are terribly crappy already, what more could you do?" So I bought some pork rinds. All I have to say is THANK GOD THEY WERE WAY TOO SALTY! So I got rid of them. Sigh....this pre-op training is the pits!!!!

    1. 2-Liter

      2-Liter

Sometimes nutrition can be looked at from several different perspectives. Pork rinds, for example, are deep-fried pigskin, but “Junk Food That's Good for You, ” an article on the Web site of Men's Health magazine, points out that they also have zero carbs, nine grams of fat — 43 percent unsaturated — and 17 grams of protein, which make them more acceptable as an occasional snack.

Don't beat yourself up too bad just make up your mind to meal prep this way you will always be prepared and cheating on your diet would then be a choice instead of last resort.

Thanks! I love pork skins but have scaled back due to the fat content. I used to eat them all the time for the protein but neglected the rest of the nutritional or un-nutritional values, however way to look at it. I will have to and need to get on board the meal prepping train!

    Really bad acid reflux

A lot of it comes from food and drink choices. Got to stay away from acidic items (tomatoes, citrus fruits), high fats, and spicy for sure. But apple cider vinegar is supposed to help. And maybe some peppermint essential oil too. Some others out there too...can't remember them. Hope you find relief too.
