  1. May your surgery go smooth and well. Blessings on your journey!
  2. Had a couple of hours before getting my kids from spring break camp.  Took a nice long walk downtown on the shoreline.  Great overcast and somewhat cool day.  Enjoyed every bit of it.  Now, my left knee and feet aren't taking it too kindly though.

Btw...I counted only 15 questions. LOL Have a blessed journey!!!

    Surgery slipping away

Oh no! Try some zicam or Occilliums-something (have no idea how to spell it). If it's early on, you can get rid of it fast! Do you use essential oils? Tea tree oil in a diffuser will work too. Breathe it in all day/night. Are you able to take meds now, this close to surgery?

    Worth it!

I'm having the same issue with some of the pictures being posted. Just shows an X with a bunch of letters and numbers after it.
  6. Takes me an hour to eat a greek yogurt and I haven't been sleeved yet. LOL

Next Wed I have my 3rd NUT appt.  One left in April, then I'm done with all the perquisites! I'm so excited.

    Almost there!!!.....

@ItsMeBirdie I almost thought I was the only one on the planet that gets headaches from the artificial sweeteners! :) It's nice to know I'm not. Headaches and taste I cannot stand. I'll have to give Stevia a try though.

Warning signs that something isn't right...headaches, heartburn, of course fevers, etc. It's good to be mindful of them. Thanks lady! I hope so too, otherwise, I'll be going sugar-free artificial-free for quite a while!

  10. To go through weight issues so early on in your life isn't what a child should ever have to do! Seems like the atmosphere of where you are, home or London, plays a big role in who you are and what you do. Is there a chance you can remove yourself again and be where you're most happiest? Other than that, second guessing surgery is normal. I had appts set twice and cancelled and finally said ok to the third and last appt. But this time (and after reading so many experiences that don't ever regret doing this) I'll get my life back, a new one though. So, it's quite normal having all these questions....just keep trudging on hon and I bet you'll be happy you went through it. Many blessings to you on your journey!! Keep us posted!
  11. Please don't be embarrassed or ashamed. Like you say, you came out of depression and am taking control of your life. How exciting is that!?!? I'm proud of you for doing so. We human beings have to "talk" to release those things that want to hinder and bring us down. Let's say no more to those, we are in control! In regards to your medication, I will hope and pray for find clear answers and maybe someone here can answer! Keep us posted. 😊

    Tattoos?

Looked it up, fresh tattoos pose a risk of a possible skin infection and if it's too close to the surgery, most surgeons don't want to run the risk of an infection occurring with surgery.
  13. If you didn't know.....Acid reflux/ heartburn/GERD is due to too little stomach acid. I agree with these articles about how it all works. apparently hydrochloric acid supplements are real cheap might be worth a try! Knowledge is Power ya'll.😊 "clinicians have found that giving hydrochloric acid supplements to patients with heartburn and GERD often cures their problem:" Vitamin D level is about 60 ng/ml, and I strongly recommend you use LabCorp, which is a high quality testing facility. As I’ve discussed in many previous articles, you can increase your Vitamin D levels through food triggers -- Food allergies can be a problem, so you’ll want to completely eliminate items such as caffeine, alcohol, and all nicotine products. Increasing your body’s natural production of stomach acid -- Like I said earlier, acid reflux is not caused by too much acid in your stomach -- it’s usually a problem with too little acid. One of the simplest strategies to encourage your body to make sufficient amounts of hydrochloric acid (stomach acid) is to consume enough of the raw material. One of the simplest, most basic food items that many people neglect is a high quality sea salt (unprocessed salt). I recommend eliminating processed, regular table salt for a lot of different reasons, all of which I’ve reviewed before. But an unprocessed salt like Himalayan salt -- one of the best salts on the planet – will not only provide you with the chloride your body needs to make hydrochloric acid, it also contains over 80 trace minerals your body needs to perform optimally, biochemically. Taking a hydrochloric acid supplement – Another option is to take a betaine hydrochloric supplement, which is available in health food stores without prescription. You’ll want to take as many as you need to get the slightest burning sensation and then decrease by one capsule. This will help your body to better digest your food, and will also help kill the helicobacter and normalize your symptoms. Modifying your diet – Eating large amounts of processed foods and sugars is a surefire way to exacerbate acid reflux as it will upset the bacterial balance in your stomach and intestine. Instead, you’ll want to eat a lot of vegetables, and high quality, organic, biodynamic, and locally grown foods. You can also supplement with a high quality probiotic or make sure you include fermented foods in your diet. This will help balance your bowel flora, which can help eliminate helicobacter naturally. Optimizing your vitamin D levels -- As I’ve mentioned many times in the past, vitamin D is essential, and it’s essential for this condition as well because there’s likely an infectious component causing the problem. Once your vitamin D levels are optimized, you’re also going to optimize your production of 200 antimicrobial peptides that will help your body eradicate anyinfections that shouldn’t be there. Implementing an exercise routine – Exercise is yet another way to improve your body’s immune system, which is imperative to fight off all kinds of infections.http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/04/25/news-flash-acid-reflux-caused-by-too-little-acid-not-too-much.aspx
  14. Did you know that just doing a ten min intentional walk/exercise is all you need daily for the heart, etc? I love exercising. I love pumping the iron. But I also know, it's not going to get me where I want to be any faster, since it's only 20% of my total physique. Diet alone is the big one, 80% of it. That's where the real difference comes in. BUT "a body in motion, stays in motion." Need that 20% too. Doesn't have to be extreme.

    Pissed Off and Rebelling

Hang in there hon, you're almost there! Think of your six months being a blessing to those who have to do a year, or even two, I've heard, when going through insurance. Imagine another six months....eeee! And like @clc9 says, don't let the insurance company win; make them pay.

    Head hunger

Definitely what everyone else said, but if you MUST get something at a fast food, go for the grilled nuggets at ChickFilA less the sauce. 140Calories 3.5GFat 2GCarbs 25GProtein

    Waiting

I'm naturally NOT patient, but have to be with this. I have the 3 months supervised diet, appts, etc too, but started in Jan. I have my next NUT appt next week and my last in April. Everything else is done too. It sucks waiting, but I also know that we have this time to prepare ourselves. And we will be very successful too. Congrats on making your decision to take care of yourself as well, and keep us posted!

    Lean cusines

Wow! I didn't even look at the carbs, I bought three of them yesterday. I'm pre-op though, so I might just use them up, but still....guess I won't be buying them again.
  19. I'm going to very well look in to that. I've been taking the supplements and haven't had any heartburn at all! I even at two HOT FRIES (I know I know, I shouldn't have) but I wanted to test it out. LOL It works now (before sleeve) so I'll have to do some more digging to see if it'll work out afterwards. I'd rather take a natural supplement than the PPI's anytime.

    One Year Post Op

You did great and look great!
  21. I LOVE Va Beach! Haven't been there in years though. sure does beat the beach here in CC. lol Enjoy it when you get there!
  22. So I posted a big thread on heartburn the other day. Not even sure if there was any traffic. Haven't checked yet. But anyway, right about now, I'd be burping before I lay down to sleep and then would have awful acid reflux. Well, I just burped and nothing. Yep, no acid reflux! All day! Even yesterday! I bought Betaine HCL, hydrochloric acid supplements. Take one before each meal. So far so good. I can go to sleep peacefully. Good night y'all. 😊

  23. I'd tell myself the statement my mother always said to me is true "don't be and end up like me." (A whole slew of physical ailments due from obesity) and continue with your healthy and active lifestyle even when you get married. Be a leader when your husband doesn't know how to eat better. Be a leader and drag his butt out of the house to go camping, hiking, tubing, etc. Don't let yourself go.
