  1. Had a nut appt yesterday. Same old thing, keep practicing on the sipping, no drinking for at least 30 mins after meals, and two bites of protein-then one bite of veggies. I've already went to decaf (the withdrawal was awful) and I replaced my breakfast with a protein shake with green bombs. (Bombs are a frozen mixture of kale, spinach, ginger root, green apples, and cucumbers blended together with some water and poured in to ice cube trays or silicone molds). Great way to get veggies in. My nut says I can continue that with my protein post op too. Yay!

So I've got one more nut appt left (April 19th) then I'm DONE! They'll submit my papers to insurance and then I wait. I'm suspecting my surgery to be in May instead of April now. So we'll see. Until then, I wait. Hopefully the month goes by fast. 😊

Good luck! I'm also curious as to what recipe you use to make green bombs (I definitely need to up my veggies!).

Thanks y'all. I didn't have a silicone mold and didn't want to use muffin tins. So I used ice trays. Perfect little bombs. Now, pre-surgery I use 3-4 bombs in each protein drink. After I'll probably use one till I can up it more. But anyway, I use my nutri bullet and I cram in spinach and kale in equal portions I guess. 1/2 a cucumber, 1/2 large green apple, maybe a few thick slices of ginger root, then I add water up to the line. I didn't want it to be too thick but not too watery either, good enough to pour in the ice trays. Freeze them and place in to a container with lid and keep in the freezer. Had to make 3-4 batches because the nutri bullet is kinda small. But each batch filled up 4 ice cube trays. So, when I'm ready to make my drink, I throw those in first, liquid, then protein powder. A good little bit of veggies in every one. Helps bridge the gap of not getting any veggies or little veggies in The diet. You can do an array of different veggies. Watch the fruit though; that's why I only used a little bit of green apple. My brother threw me on to this, I'm glad he did op. Hope y'all get to trying. Let me know how it goes!

Or you can place them in freezer ziplock bags too. Save room. 😊

Sounds like a plan! Thanks for the idea!!!

    Plantar fasciitis post op

Oh yeah...that walking would do it. I've had to stretch and rest to finally get some relief. It's not so bad now, but I can understand it can come back once the exercise has gone back up. In the past, I limited my cardio and just stuck to weights. I think that's what helped me. Stretch, less cardio, more weights. That's my formula.

    post op veggies

I can't help but I've got a question, can you eat them raw or have to be cooked?
  5. Hats fortunate. I might have to do some convincing then. 😊I don't have Facebook but thank you.
  6. I'm gonna need one! Your's looks wonderful! Your doc did a great job. My husband is skeptical of me going abroad for plastics when I'm ready. So it's either I convince him or pay about 5-thousand more! Are you married--did you have to do convincing?

    Approved!!

Yay!!!!! Congrats!!! I can only imagine the relief! Lol. 😊

    Trouble with Vitamins

Really? I'll look in to that and stick to the Viactiv that I've been using. I'll also see what the surgeon says too. So far, he's not so strict like some are. Only this drink, that vitamin, etc. Thanks for the hope!

    I did it!

Awww....you did it! Congratulations and many blessings to you on your new journey/life!

    Trouble with Vitamins

Well, that was entertaining. As a matter of preference, I'm looking in to liquids. But don't mind settling on chewables. Will finish off these gummies I have before surgery and get the right calcium (apparently I'm taking the wrong one). To each their own!

    Cigna NY

I started the process on Jan 21st. Due to have my third NUT apt tomorrow. I have one left about this time next month. At that time, my surgeon/team with submit my paperwork to Cigna. I have no idea what their turnaround time is, so hopefully it's just a few days. I'll either get my surgery date before the submission (in hopes it goes through) or when they've approved. Not exactly sure how the center I go to will do it.

    Cigna NY

I have Cigna and I'm in TX. Requirements are three months waiting, bmi 40+, or 35+ with co-morbidities, pcp referral, supervised diet visits, etc. It's pretty nice actually and not too much (for me at least-I have no co-morbidities-that's what I'm preventing!) The waiting is the worse part.
  15. It's actually my hubby's bike. Says he'll give it to me when he upgrades. Lol. I'll probably start riding after I hit goal weight. I used that pic cause I wanted to change the profile and didn't have anything that good on my phone. I try to keep up with everyone here and comment because I know it means a lot to each of us when we're not alone!!! I'm happy your surgery went well too. Many more blessings hon!

    A Pound of Cure

I've got the book. Haven't finished but plan to go this route for sure. I need to finish it though. Very good stuff.

Rant - Screw my broken (pre-op) body!!!

Your welcome hon. I am like you too, helps to hear someone say it. 😊 Sounds like it was sleep. Those are super long days! You'll be back in no time. Get some good 😴 and rest now.

    Can't lose weight!

Are you losing inches? Clothes fitting better? Are you working out, cardio, weights? The big question is....ARE YOU EATING ENOUGH?
  19. Your pics are inspiring! I have a muscular build as well and hope to look as good as you!!! But if this was a competition, you beat me in the tummy area. HAHA! Great job!

    So much water...

It says pre-surgery she drank coke mixed with water.

Rant - Screw my broken (pre-op) body!!!

Stress also has an impact...causes us to develop more cortisol...although you ate healthy, it can be a factor. Lack of sleep. Not getting enough fluids in. About that time of the month. It's no way fat, unless you laid around the whole time eating cheesecake all day, you didn't gain 8lbs of fat. So, don't worry about it. As fast as the fluctuation happened, it'll happen again and go down. Focus on other things but the scale number. It's a mind battlefield for craziness to happen.

Prepping for 10K and knee pain

Ooh...knee pain and running. Well, I'm no doctor. But I am a daughter of a physical therapist and I would have to say by what he would tell me "you shouldn't be running with the extra weight and knee pain" Every one pound loss is 4 pounds of pressure taken off the knees. Congratulations on your 109 weight loss, that's 436lbs of pressure off of your knees!!!! WOW! But also, please listen to your body. Pain is usually screaming when something is wrong. Yesterday I went for a walk, a very long walk, my knee started acting up. I stopped and rested. Then I finished (only because I had to, to get to my car). Needless to say, I won't be taking any long walks for a while. Have you had your knees checked? Are you in therapy for your knees? Anything? Hope you find a great solution--cause that 10K sounds awesome!

    Thursday is THE day

Today is Thursday! Hope it's going swell!
  24. I was under the impression that the Thrive is just vitamins, but it's a weight loss management system. I'll have to pass. I'm fine for just vitamins but I don't want the whole system. Thanks for the info though!
