    How to forgive someone?

Absolutely! We must die daily to our flesh which includes harboring on hurts, etc. forgiveness is a must!

    4/28 Surgery Date!

Congratulations hon! It'll be here before you know it! How exciting
  3. I remember that one too. It was sad to hear.
  4. So all you mommas, tell me if I'm wrong. I'm equating the preparation of WLS to first time pregnancy. 😂We read, educate ourselves, prepare, and plan. When it actually happens, seems as if reality is a bit different then all of our plans, but we "go with the flow" and all falls in to place anyway. All the preparation is not for nothing though, it gives us a better flow than to not been prepared at all. So, with that said, I know I'll  be just fine.

It is similar in the sense people over think it and buy all the crap pushed at them they don't need.

That's what I'm thinking! I bought so much stuff for the first baby and didn't even use most of it. So far, I haven't bought anything for WLS. I'm procrastinating here.

  5. 2.5 weeks till my last prerequisite appointment!

Thank you hon! It's getting to be almost surreal now. Lol

  6. This is what I will be doing when I hit goal. Not to screw up my metabolism by eating less than what I should be at 5'6" and 145ish.
  7. I've noticed a difference between whey protein and plant protein....whey makes you extremely thirsty (dry mouth) afterwards. Plant doesn't. Well, at least it's been this of my experiences. I think I'll stick to plant protein for good.

What kind of plant protein are you using? I used soy protein for years before I decided on surgery, when I switched over to whey. I haven't experienced dry mouth, but I do know that I am satisfied longer with the whey protein. ;-)

I'm using VegaOne plant based protein. It's pretty good. I only took whey with the already made drinks and I don't think I'll be drinking them anymore. Trying to stay away from whey altogether.

  8. Congrats!!! I think you look great in both pics! 😊

    How to stop grazing?

Could be you're actually thirsty?? Maybe always have water on hand, when you feel like grazing on something, drink water first.

    No more snore!

    Yay!!!!!! Mack truck, 😂😂😂😂😂
  13. Newme17

    No sleep study?

Nope. No sleep study for me either. I'm glad.

    Pain after surgery...

    Let's celebrate small victories!👍👍

I did that a few weeks ago and boy my knee felt awful afterwards. Lol. But it was good to walk.

    Pre op fail

Then I think you must be the professional. 😊 You can do this hon. I believe you can and will. I understand about the snacks. I think I gained some of my weight from my kid's snacks over the years. Although I have them on hand, it's easier for me to say no now. You can do this too. But the biggest thing we could do not only for ourselves, but for our little ones,(mine are 7 and 3) is to incorporate healthier snacks for them too. It's a go here but it's slow adjusting. I totally get ya.

    Pre op fail

Are these items readily available to you? It'll be easier to not have them on hand. Unless you're going out to get them. ??? If you cannot control your relationship with food now, how will it be post-op? You've got the rest of your pre-op to prove you are ready. Give the next six days the best of you and make it happen. I would highly encourage you to talk with a professional about it as well.
  19. Hearing stories and seeing pics are motivating and inspiring. But actually seeing someone in the flesh a few months later really puts it in to perspective. I saw an acquaintance tonight at church. Didn't get to talk, but I had to do a double take because I honestly thought she was a different person. Wow! ...and she had a big beaming smile on. 😊 Love it!!!

This is very true. My friend had surgery a few years ago. We both went our own ways for a bit (due to work and life). When I saw her a year after I was amazed. She was a new person! I couldn't believe it. She was so happy. I wish I would have not been afraid of the surgery back then. We could have done it together. Now i'm in the process and regret not doing it sooner.

  20. Newme17

    Cigna

I have them, but like you, don't know either. From what I've read of others with cigna, seems like they're pretty fast actually. So I'm trying not to worry about it myself.
  21. This makes sense. Gas-X might help with intestinal gas, but it won't help with the gas (carbon dioxide) they use to inflate the abdomen during surgery. Because that gas doesn't get into the stomach or the intestines, Gax-X won't do anything to relieve the shoulder, neck, and back pains
  22. The first weigh in is what they go by or should be going by. I wouldn't worry. @kins117 I'm surprised they submitted your current. Did they say that in the beginning of your program?

    No weight loss, Denied?

Unless your insurance has something very specific to weight loss/gain, then no. I haven't lost any either. Nor did I gain any weight. So it's all good. Your pre-op diet you'll be sure to lose a lot of water though/ some fat. So I wouldn't worry. 😊
  24. Wow! What an inspiring true story!! You look amazing and I'm sure you feel amazing too. Great job hon! Thank you for sharing. I love seeing the before and afters. Beautiful smile!
