    Soft foods 3wks post opt

If you're cleared for soft foods, take a leap of faith and start. Yogurt, eggs, mashed black beans, etc. I'm sure you'll be fine. Seems like you'll need to get over psyche-ing yourself out first. You can do it!
  3. I tend to eat them separately, they're basically the only free food choices I have to eat and I was pretty hungry at that moment, so ate them both. 😂 I had my caffeine withdrawal about a month ago or so. I wasn't ready to quit my coffee either. My husband bought the wrong kind, decaf, of course. So I decided to just use it. My taste buds weren't having it in the beginning. Suffered a big headache for about two days. Been good since. I was told to ease off, but I didn't listen.
  4. you look absolutely stunning! Your face is just gorgeous, I have no idea what those folks are telling you. Not true at all! Great job on your loss!
  5. It's nice that you have just a week of pre-op. Two is a long time, but at least it's half way over. Lol. Getting more excited???
  6. It's day 7 and I'm having a hard time today. I haven't cheated, nor will I. I had to fight the smells of food earlier and resort to my carrots and pickle. I noticed I had a great amount of energy on a Friday but I'm super sluggish today. One more week!

    Food options

Because they go back to old habits.

  9. I second that, please talk with your nut asap. the nut will adjust your diet. Maybe ask if you can have a snack pack of raw carrots to carry with you daily, when you need your blood sugar to go back up. im on my pre-op, but not all liquids. Every surgeon is different but I'm quite sure some carrots or something else won't have a negative impact on you surgery coming up.

Oh, and congrats on your loss so far! 😊

    Somebody Pinch Me

I just watched a video by Dr Weiner (someone posted on another thread) who explains that the only way for it to be unsuccessful is basically going back to the old habits you had when you gained the weight in the first place. You MUST have a lifestyle change with food, eat quality food, the way you deal with stress (exercising helps), etc. Our appetites do come back, you can/will be able to eat more....now, it's up to YOU what you're eating. It's up to YOU to be successful. YOU have to be successful Blessings on your journey!!!
  12. This makes sense! I have his book and will be following his plans. Thanks for sharing!
  13. Day 6 Pre-Op:

Hardest so far because it's the weekend. Family wanted tacos this morning and I couldn't have one. But I did well despite my feelings. Stayed very busy today. Got home from visiting with a new friend who will be having the sleeve too. Now I'm super tired.

Starbucks...I saw this on Pinterest. I got a tall two decaf espresso shots over ice and poured about 1/2 of a Snickerdoodle protein drink in it. It was soooo good! Next time I'll use a Pumpkin spice one. 😊 Yum!

Awwww! Isn't that just nice!? That made me smile for you. 😊

    Boobies...ugh

For all the exercise, you're probably not eating enough. Gotta find the right balance.

And you were/are very informed too...that's what a lot of people aren't. Individuals must educate themselves and learn the ups and downs and be okay with them. I'm happy for you hon!
  18. I'm at the admitting getting my pre-op lab and registration done. So, I was all excited that my copay was $497. I totally forgot about the hospital bill...lol. $1700. Lol. Oh well. Paid it and now waiting to do lab work. hungry too.

We are all in this together. I got to admit I almost caved in Friday night but I are my unsweetened cream of wheat and went to bed.

It helped ease the craving I was feeling. I usually don't crave but I was going crazy.

The ones complaining need this ^^^^^^^ As long as the fat goes down, I'm good. I could even gain weight (with muscle) and not care...just need the fat to go down. I quit watching the Biggest Loser years ago because of the "I only lost 2 pounds!?!?!" smh

    I'm ROLLING over here!!!! LOL
  21. Crap....so I ran out of ready made protein shakes and ran to Walmart before work.  Picked up Slimfast protein drinks, mocha cappuccino.  Started drinking it...yum.  Anyway, it says "as much caffeine as a cup of coffee"...darn it.  Can't have caffeine now...thankfully it was two sips.  Guess they'll be sitting in the fridge for quite a while! I don't have anything on hand at work but one broth and water....ugh.

Thanks...That's what I was looking for. Apparently the one I went to (biggest one in town) didn't have it, AT ALL!!!! It's either that, or it was all out (there was a section of stuff gone). So, I just grabbed the Slim Fast one. Its very tasty too...but has the caffeine. I'll swing by GNC on the way home and grab some GNC Lean Shakes till I get my premier protein from Insure Nutrition (insurance is covering).

Woo Hoo on the insurance coverage - that's a great benefit.

  22. I hope many will take this to heart. Even though I have no other issues but fat, my mother is the source of my determination to get this done. Just as you said....she is dying slowly, painfully, and has a very diminished quality of life all due from being obese. Currently she's stage 4 uterine to lung cancer (five years now), she can't walk without all the pain in the joints, takes her about 3 minutes to get up from sitting position, she's diabetic, has neuropathy, and who knows what else. My mother is the very reason why so many of us should battle the fear (if you've got it) and get on with it. It saddens me and hurts to see her like that, and so many others because the weight holds them down.

    Aging process and Sleeve

Very interesting! Thanks for posting the link. It kind of confirms what I've suspected about HPLC diets, long term; I don't like them. Once cleared for foods, I'll find the right balance for myself, as I'm going more plant based. We shall see....

    Cigna

I'm a bmi of 40...don't think your bmi should have anything to do with it being longer. Many people have sleep apnea too. I hope it doesn't take long (it shouldn't); but for your peace of mind, call Cigna and talk with them.
