  1. Well, that's cool, being in NYC. I'm sure there are ups and downs to it, just as any other places. I'd love to visit the city sometime in my lifetime. I live approximately 7mins from the beach. We're surrounded by water here. Don't go as often though.
  2. My prayers are up for you and your husband. Hope it's a great travel too. 😊
  3. I took off my binder last night to try and sleep without it. As I laid down, I kept having spasms. I tried to ignore them and eventually fell asleep. Woke up a few mins ago (it's 5:57am now) with spasms. So I go to the bathroom, nothing special happened. Put my binder back on and the spasms are gone. Im gonna try to sleep a bit more, but now I have that nagging empty stomach feeling. I really don't want to get up, mostly because our inside dog, a toy poodle name Dash, will expect me to let him out of his crate and outside and I don't feel like doing all of that just now. Lol. He's still a puppy and drives me nuts these days. So, I'll try for more sleep, if not, it's gonna be a long day. At least I'll get out of the house and go to church and possibly the grocery store.
  4. I should get my husband to take me for a walk on the beach too. I didn't think of it. Do you live near a beach @Sweet as peaches?
  5. Lol. I wouldn't consider myself too old for that, but I wouldn't do it either anyway. I do love modesty...you can still look good and sexy too that way. 😉 Just my opinion. But I suspect I'd have to get tucks and lifts just to make it look good walking around in panties be bras on the beach. Lol
  6. I'm usually don't have fear. No need for it, but with me advancing, I have some concerns. I really don't want to experience that dumping thing again. So, although I could advance, I think I'll take it slow. I'll start with something simple, like cream of wheat with some protein added. But my nut says she wants me to try fish and eggs before my first post op appt on the 31st. So, I guess I'll be doing that too. I'm sure once I start adding, I'll get more comfortable with trying other things. We shall see....
  7. Hopefully within the next two weeks. I'm waiting for the counter tops to be installed. They came by last Tues to measure, says they're working to get them in hopefully by Wed this week. The kitchen won't be fully done, as my husband has to do a lot of finishing touches, but I could finally work with a countertop in. I feel bad that my family has been subjected to a lot of frozen foods. Thankfully my grocery store has fresh meals prepared that you pop in the oven. Closest to having a home cooked meal. Those have been great for them.
  8. It sure did scare mine. Had a small bm the day I took it. But yesterday, I was on the toilet for a good long while, twice! After the second time, my belly was hurting. I hope it slows down. So I made sure to drink water afterwards.
  9. Noooooooo....you too!?!? That's just not right. I'm so sorry.
  10. Wow. That's a long walk. You did it though! That's awesome. But I agree with you, take things slower once you're home. At least you've got to get a vacation out of all this, eh!? Lol
  11. I will have to agree. Unfortunately, no kitchen for me to work in currently. There just isn't a win at this point. But, I think I'll get some from a restaurant tomorrow perhaps. We'll see. That looks delicious btw!! Yum.
  12. @Lavieboheme84 here you go hon. Great thread to follow to see what you may or may not expect. 😊
  13. Portion control will get ya. I had a problem with quality, not quantity. In fact, my doc was always on to me for not eating enough. Go figure. It's true, you can gain weight from not eating enough, but absolutely the wrong foods!!! Whatever helps you, I'm here for ya!
  14. I've noticed my nails have gotten stronger since I started my vitamins. Anyone else?
  15. Oh bummer hon. But you've got all my encouragement and support to get you through it!!!!
  16. Absolutely. Post op now. My doc/nut office only encourages us to listen to our bodies in regards to foods and what to eat. Don't eat just because it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Eat because you're truly hungry. I'm finding my stomach to cramp when I'm hungry. Granted I'm only 5 days out from surgery, but it's definitely been a time for me to learn my cues and listen. My body will change and I'll have more to learn and listen for.
  17. So, a friend swung by to visit me today. First thing she says is "your face is getting slimmer". I say "seriously, really?" It hasn't been that long at all! But for someone who hasn't seen me for a couple of weeks, I'll take that compliment. 😊
  18. I don't like mashed potatoes, but if I could, I'd eat mashed potatoes now!!! lol. The craving to eat has been pretty hard today. I keep telling myself, just one more day, then I get to have cream of wheat, refried beans, fish, shrimp, and good creamy soup. Can't wait!!!
  19. I've had a blah day diet wise today too. I really want some good tasting broth but have yet to find any. The hospital broth was the best I've had so far. Funny huh?
  20. I'm happy for the no meds for diabetes!!! That's awesome hon. I also have no idea on calories. My doc/nut don't do calorie based. They want us to learn to listen to our bodies and of course make the good choices in what we eat.
  21. Happy Saturday y'all! Hope you all are having a great first weekend since being sleeved. As always, everyday is better. This morning's nausea was there, but so much less than yesterday's. I opted to forego the nausea meds too. Down to the just tylenol if needed. I did wake up hungry, so I've been sipping on my vanilla protein drink that I added pumpkin spice and cinnamon to, for the past two hours. And for sure water too. I made sure to eat my multi in small bites today! Lol. Did not have dumping! Yay! My kids are cleaning. More yay's!!! I'm about to get dressed for a small walk and enjoy our freshly mowed backyard for a while. It was a jungle out there, along with debris from the kitchen renovation. So glad my hubby cleaned it up this morning and took the trash to the dump. Now I'll enjoy it. Hope you all are still doing great! I'll check in later.

    85 lbs down!

    Wow! Looking great! Congrats!!! 😊
  23. I'm sorry it happened too. Lol. Im feeling better. Just the thought of doing that again makes me feel queasy. I read somewhere that 17% of Sleevers actually get dumping. I guess I may be one of them. Now I know to always eat slow, food I can handle, vitamins did not want to handle-but have to now. It lasted for about 30 mins. I drank more water and walked around the block (longest I've done so far). I just wanted to get rid of the feeling. Ugh. So glad it's over. So, went all day with no pain meds not even Tylenol but I think I'll take some before bed here in a minute. I'm truly thankful for getting better everyday. My binder has worked great too. Everyone have a great night! More updates soon!!
