  1. I know if your on desktop, then go to the arrow next to your profile name. Select, I think ,SURGERY from the drop down. And change the date and/or select post-op in a section under it. I don't recall. I really have no idea if you're using the app. I'm gonna see if there's a way with the mobile, since that's great one I use most i can't figure it out on the mobile the badges come automatically. I think it's based on how many posts you do.
  2. Say what!? That's...well, I'll keep my words to myself. Sorry you found out so much more later, but equally happy you do know about and can get it dealt with.

    What was your breaking point?

My mother's obesity and all the problems exacerbated because of it. Uterine cancer to lung cancer (5 years now) stage 4; chemo three times, diabetes, just watching her try to move, etc. She told me, "Never end up like me" So, that's where I'm at. There are like a million other reasons, but that's the biggest one for me.
  4. Oh...and ya'll....I've noticed some of your profiles say Pre-op still. LOL
  5. My update so far: Work is great. Only myself and the project manager (who is on the other side of the building) are here. I've managed to get through a great amount of emails and have all the to-do's in a pile by priority that I'll try to get tackled in a moment. I'm finding it to be uncomfortable sitting in my chair for too long. Maybe I should have worn my binder. (I took it off for today). I can't seem to get enough liquids! I'm extremely THIRSTY today; its been that way since I woke up. I'm on my second bottle of water and I've had maybe 1/4 of a protein drink. I'm going to shoot for 5 bottles of water today, instead of 4 so I can not feel so thirsty. I can't stand it and the protein drinks don't help; they always make me feel thirsty. I did bring some unsweetened applesauce to try. Maybe. I need to walk...but it's raining. I guess I'll pace back and forth here in the office.
  6. LOL...That's was just too cute.
  7. how do you know, besides the surgeon finding one, if you have a hernia?
  8. I could totally do the grocery trips! LOL
  9. Great lesson! I don't care who knows...I've actually shared with many people! Yesterday I thought, maybe I'll end up being a coach or something for women going through the process of WLS. I have the heart to encourage and help other women in different aspects (currently, I've got a few friends having trouble with their marriages. They call me, I help and pray with them) I love getting together for coffees and some solid downtime talks. It's just who I am....and this just might be my training ground for the wls portion.
  10. I'm sold if it's artificial sweetener free!!! I'll have to look for it.
  11. I too threw out my "overnight oats" ...it definitely didn't soak up the protein and make it soft. I had two tiny spoons and decided it was enough. Next time I'll just cook the oats and then add the premier protein afterwards. I've tried to make "protein cake" out of the powder stuff before...nasty too. Glad the yogurt was good for you.
  12. Thanks hon! Much appreciated. 😊
  13. So, it's bedtime for me. Since I'm off the narcs I get to drive. Gotta get back to the routine of life here tomorrow. Get the kids to school. I'm going in to work as well. I feel really good actually. Best part, my boss won't be in until tues or Wednesday so I get to catch up on work by myself. Yay!! I work for a small pipeline construction company that has a huge revenue. It's been awesome, I was a stay at home mom for a long time. My youngest wanted to go to prek, guess she was bored with me. Lol. So since she went to school I figured I might as well as work and stay busy. I used to work corporate jobs, about 13 years of it. This small company has been exciting and interesting. I've had to rearrange a lot of the accounting procedures though. Not sure how they stayed afloat before. Haha. Thankfully it's a desk job (the only ones I like) and part time for the time being. Ill be full time soon though. I'll be sure to get up and walk around throughout my day. I'm anticipating a great start tomorrow. Anyone else going back to work earlier than two weeks?
  14. 😂😆🤣😁😅😂🤣 my side hurts just thinking of it! Lol
  15. I wish we were all neighbors!!! Lol. Imagine our get togethers. 😝
  16. No there are several essential oils that would be great for healing the skin. I currently have some lavender on hand, but others would work good too. I put a diffuser on my night stand every night with a Breathe Blend by doTerra oils. It's helped with sinuses, etc. I really didn't want to deal with coughs, etc during the healing time. Back to the skin.... "Essential oils like lavender, rosemary and myrrh have antibacterial and healing properties. An enzyme found in pineapple which reduces swelling. A powerful antioxidant that helps manufacture collagen, critical for healing damaged blood vessels. Apply tea tree oil to cuts and scrapes daily." Here's a more detailed list of oils for reducing scars/healing the skin. http://www.healthyandnaturalworld.com/essential-oils-for-reducing-scars/
  17. Oh my! I couldn't watch a surgery at all! Especially my own.
  18. I've already thought, I'm putting my essential oils as soon as they're off too.
  19. I do on two of them. Typical of surgery. I've had a few laparoscopic surgeries before and it's always that way for me.
  20. And awesome antioxidants!!
  21. I failed to share this earlier. Went to church this morning. I had three people say "you look really good". And it wasn't a body thing, they all motioned the face. Isn't that something? A couple of them don't know I had surgery, one did.
  22. I'm not sure. All I know is to leave the steri strips on until they fall off on their own, or the doc will check at my first post op appt to see if they need to come off. Mine are peeling off now. Except the one with the most pain. But I've noticed the pain has subsided even more so today. I'm happy about that. Still taking it easy too.
  23. Oh yes...please keep us updated with those. I'm interested to see how they pan out with the bloodwork.
  24. Me too. I find myself putting off my alarm when it's time for that one. I eventually take it, just hate doing it. But, it has been doing me good.
