  1. No need to apologize hon. I'm glad it's going down well. I literally count the minutes till I can drink something! lol. I think once we make this a good habit (usually takes about 14 days for a habit to form), it'll be easier. I would love to drink something right afterwards still. I think what's helping me a lot is knowing that you all are doing the same and well too. It's encouraging. Thanks for that! UPDATE: ok...except @Apple1...LOL Get that timer going. LOL
  2. We're just about in the same boat still...except the cook part. LOL I do the majority, but he gets the itch to grill or cook eggs and bacon, like last night. So, since I have my counter...I told him yesterday, "Let me know if there's anything you need from the store. I'm going to make a list." He says, "What?! I don't have to eat frozen food anymore?!?!" LOL poor thing (and kids).
  3. Yay for supportive husbands!!!!! It helped my husband to make the decision after we watched a couple of documentaries on Netflix about eating plant based. Forks over Knives, and Food Matters (I think that's what the latter is called...not sure). But overall, he said he wanted to support me, so he'll do it too. He tends to just eat what I give him too...I haven't had any complaints. LOL
  4. I'm assuming the darker eggs are from your chickens?
  5. I haven't bought much plant based during the pre and post op diets. I prefer a plant protein over whey protein, but my nut told me to use whey during this time. Some reason behind it which I forgot. I use almond creamer for my coffee instead of dairy. My husband and I both agreed to incorporate a plant based diet, LOTS and LOTS of veggies and whole grains as a way of eating. (Just need to get the kiddos on board). We won't sacrifice chicken, fish, or shrimp though NOR the cheese. LOL I had found that my digestive system just works better doing mostly plant based foods. And you can't go wrong with healthy food. Actually you can, but given portion sizes and how it's cooked, you shouldn't.
  6. @Apple1 Thank you for sharing your lovely garden and chickens! I love it all.
  7. I LOVE IT!!!! Bestie Bariatric Pal .....we can be BBP's. Ha!

    Hot water plate

I also saw on Pinterest, someone uses a cup warmer. https://www.amazon.com/Home-X-Warmer-Desktop-Heated-Coffee/dp/B01M5DMQL3/ref=sr_1_2/137-2697191-6650710?ie=UTF8&qid=1495810398&sr=8-2&keywords=coffee+warmer+plate
  9. That's what I'll be using, carried with Vit E oil or almond, or even coconut. I have it ready to go just as soon as my doc says I can rub stuff on my sites.
  10. Doesn't it feel nice to have a new roof? I love it. Your house is like three times as big as mine. Haha!!! You have more to clean than me. 😂 beautiful area, trees, lawn is pretty. I've still got to do a rock bed garden in our front, but it's work in progress, as always. Enjoy your roof!
  11. Please do share! I'd love to see.
  12. Yesterday I was sluggish. I'm equating it to the lack of liquids. I didn't really focus. So, I went to bed early, slept for about 8 hours. I'm finishing up my bottle of water now. Got to get that first one in, before I start my coffee. My kid's last day of school was yesterday, so I'm happy about not having to get them up and ready for a couple of weeks until camp. Now, it's time for me to start getting ready for work. Oh, I flexed my arms yesterday, I was happy to see my muscle doesn't look like it's too far gone. Can't wait to get back to the gym. LOL Ya'll have a beautiful and blessed day!
  13. @Apple1 You have a garden? I'M SO JEALOUS! I would love to learn how to garden. We have the space, but we also have two very large dogs that would try to get in to it, unless I build a really nice fence around it. I'm also concerned with the heat down here, it's so blistering hot all the time, so I'd have to learn what works here and doesn't. We shall see....maybe a goal of mine in the near future. NOW, I REALLY WISH WE WERE NEIGHBORS! Ha!
  14. I probably would have done the same. It's amazing how many variations there are with each nut/doc office. It would really be nice for a uniform guideline. Shorter the better. lol Seems to be working just fine. Glad you're taking the risk and going ahead.
  15. When we're all getting smaller, we will all be getting more active too. More activity means we'll need to fuel our bodies more as well, and it would be possible to overdo it (with the wrong choices of food). But, you can always have a good amount of veggies and never overdo it; provided they're not doused in sauces, etc. Hope you like your veggies!
  16. Whoa! That is crazy! I've got four, each a week long. Next week, I'm supposed to be eating just about everything, salads, fruits, veggies, quinoa, brown rice, ground beef, chicken, etc. The fourth week doesn't have a list...so it's just cleared for everything.
  17. I bought some Atkins fruit drink (it was on sale) and I can't seem to stomach it now (pun intended! Ha). Pre-op I drank them, not they're just stiting in my fridge. I think I'll stop by Vitamin Shoppe on my way home from work and check it out. Thanks!
  18. You are gorgeous! I changed to plant based, non dairy, before surgery, EXCEPT the cheese! (Got to have cheese). I don't care for yogurt and cottage cheese, even though I'm adding them now, cause they're just easier at this point. But once I get to full foods, I'm back to mostly plant based. We do eat chicken/shrimp/fish though too. Blessings on your alternative journey hon. You can do it!
  19. Nope, no calorie counting for me. I don't think I'll ever go back to that. My doc office wants us to just listen to our bodies and eat when hungry, and obviously make wise choices in food. So, I'm happy about that. I really didn't want to feel like I am on a diet. That's just my personal feelings about it; no offense to anyone who is calorie counting. We all have to find what works for ourselves. It's also one less thing I have to do.
  20. Does anyone ever find themselves not breathing when watching Pinterest tastyful (or something like it) videos? I realize that I hold my breath during the videos. Once over, I start breathing. Lol. It must be a head thing! Lol
  21. Good for you. Glad it didn't do anything after that. I think it's neat that we are all having to really listen to our bodies. This is a great tool!
  22. I agree with the above poster, but I hate artificial sweeteners for health reasons, but please, stick to sugar free for now. If you've got a sweet tooth, go for stevia or monk fruit sweeteners. I'm sure there are popsicles made with them. Way better for you than the artificial stuff.
  23. @mishyk hey lady. That cocotein is expensive! Wow. I guess it'll be a once in a while drink for me. Lol. I'm trying to locate it here locally. What store did you buy it from?
  24. @Apple1 what did ya make for dinner for us tonight? Lol
  25. @Sweet as peaches, how was your day hon?
