How long did it take to shower after surgery?

Showered the day after at the hospital. They had a bench and all the supplies ready for me. Didn't have to worry about water over my incisions either, just was instructed to let soapy water run over them and pat them dry afterwards. Wasn't too bad. I even shaved my legs. Lol

What Was on Your Friday Menu?

Breakfast: chameleon cold brew mocha coffee with chocolate premier protein drink. (No time to make anything) Lunch: 2oz package of cubed smoked turkey breast and cubed pepper jack cheese. Snack: Mary's organic whole grain pretzels Dinner: mango tequila lime shrimp and peppers Snack: sweet chili pistachios
  3. Ditto above! It does get better every single day. Blessings on your journey!
  4. Had my sleeve on 5/15. I was probably a size smaller a week ago but didn't bother to check. I bought one size smaller in workout pants and decided to put them on. Happy to say, they slid on well. 😊

  5. I believe God has called us to be whole, spiritually, mentally, and physically. Having WLS should be a great tool to lead others in the church on a WHOLISTIC journey for their health. Obviously, it'll be to each person's convictions and preference whether they accept it for you or themselves, but overall, if this brings you peace and health in your personal life, then I do think you should share in some way with your congregation as well. Why keep the good God has given you to yourself? That's an awesome testimony! But hey, in your own time too, unless He tells your otherwise. I have told numerous church family members that I had it. I've had nothing but support from them; but my church is probably one of the MOST LOVING churches ever! Lol. A few have more questions too, for their own journeys. One had her's before me, she gave me even more confidence in going forth. So, if you decide to share, you just might be helping others as well. 😉
  6. I think it's awesome your daughter cooks! My 12 year old doesn't know anything. I tried with her, but she puts no effort. Lol. Sounds like a good meal. I think I'd like to try a blt in a lettuce wrap soon. My baby girl is great. It's as if she was never sick. Lol. At least I've got a day off. 😊
  7. Thanks @Apple1. I will enjoy my day. Right now, even if my daughter is well enough to go to school, I don't want to go to work anyway. 😂 Have a great day yourself!

    What's Your Thursday Menu?

    Lol. You! 😊
  9. Yeah, my clothes are looser. Unfortunately they're way looser on the butt too. Lol. I, too, am on the same row on my bras. I wore a sports bra today and that didn't give me the major headache I would usually get either, fitting me better. I'm wearing smaller panties that I've had for ages now as well. I do see the stretch marks on my belly being a bit more noticeable though, growing closer together, but I can still wear the same clothes although they're baggy and sliding down for the most part. I broke down and bought myself another pair of workout pants, a size smaller. Didn't bother trying them on yet, but they should fit. We shall see. 😊 Baby girl is fine. She's got a virus, even though she seems fine now. Have to keep her out of school tomorrow too. Usually my husband would be taking care of the sick kids (being on nights) but he's on days now and so I have to stay home. Which I don't mind, but had a bit of attitude from the boss today (via text and email) after I mentioned that I will need to be off tomorrow too. Hmph. Well, my kids and husband will always come first. I like my job but I could always get another job if needed.
  10. @mishyk I'm with Apple, are you ready to try something more? As for the date, he's been asking you to spend time with him even post-op tells me that he doesn't think anything about the weight before. 😊 That's a great quality in Him already. I hope it all goes well with you two. Keep us posted, I like juicy dating stories (except for the past midnight ones!!) 😂

    Vsg & domestic abuse

Go to the doc as well and get your injury documented. Be safe hon. We're here for you!

    Help!

I was just four days ahead of you, on the 15th, although @OutsideMatchInside is right, we can't tell you what you need to be doing, I will have to say, that I'm no longer subjected to liquids, puréed, etc. I'm totally on regular foods, albeit healthy foods. Still can't eat very much though. Get with your doc office and they should give you a guideline.

    What's Your Thursday Menu?

Breakfast: chameleon cold brew mocha coffee with a chocolate premier protein drink Snack: none Lunch: chicken breast with cheese Snack: Salt & Vinegar protein chips Dinner: sausage stuffed mushroom with broccoli After AWESOME WORKOUT snack: orange cream protein drink with banana, cinnamon, and vanilla (unsweetened) almond milk.
  14. Totally rocked my element. Exercise! Despite the hip bursitis flaring up on the treadmill, I quickly switched to a bike and finished my cardio. Worked on my triceps, biceps, chest, and added back today. I tend to get a killer workout on my legs, the burn and all, doing slow intense cardio, so I'm omitting leg weights for now. Finally broke the sweat (so happy about that!) Best part, that pain on my side has finally subsided. Yeah! 🏋🏽‍♀️💪🏽😁

Enjoying an orange cream protein shake with 1/2 banana, cinnamon, and unsweetened almond milk now. 👅

lol it always thinks it knows what we want to say, but no... I get to typing so fast on my iPad and then don't check before I post...

I wondered and thought it would be hilarious if you actually were at the YMCA...

    Two weeks post op.......

I don't know. I don't weigh. So I have to take the words of everyone else, a weight stall. Doesn't mean nothing else is happening though. 😊
  16. That's a lot of protein! I don't think I'll ever need that. Lol. But your muscle mass even at 250 is awesome, and see.....you don't look the 250 either in the pic.

    Body changes

It's peer related, four years ago. Nothing about his actual practice or method or quality of care . On April 12, 2013, the Board and Gary Michael Horndeski, M.D., entered into an Agreed Order requiring Dr. Horndeski to obtain within 30 days an independent medical evaluation from a psychiatrist and follow all recommendations for continued care and treatment, within one year complete 16 hours of CME including eight hours in risk management and eight hours in communications skills with professional colleagues and pay an administrative penalty of $1,000 within 60 days. The Board found Dr. Horndeski was disciplined by peers at Angleton Danbury Medical Center regarding issues related to competency, conduct and behavior and had his membership and privileges at ADMC revoked.

Really!? I'll look it up. That's probably why he sold it or whatever and now it's a different name.
  19. No shame hon. You learned and moved on. I'm glad you found another doc.

    Pre-op workout?

I've always worked out, but was out due to an injury, so no pre-op working out (about 4 months worth) for me. I'd encourage you to do so, if you can, for the habit, just as @northern_bypass said. Your body will thank you too.

    Insure Nutrition

Yes, mine did. I have CIGNA Open Access Plus. Received my drinks quickly after approval. They also tried to get me to get me to get some scar cream which I refused. I did get the VItD with Folic Acid, but need to cancel that as I realized I don't need them with the multi's I'm taking.
  22. I kind wish I had an ice cream kick just so I can try Halo Top. LOL No, not really....so far my tastes haven't changed for anything, but I'm still so early in my walk that I don't know yet, as I haven't tried much or any alternatives. Glad your craving went away, maybe another alternative would suffice if that craving comes back.

    Dumping??

Have you seen your doc? Did it subside? All the runs can lead to dehydration. Hope you're feeling better now.
  24. If you want crackers, why not try an organic whole grain cracker instead? And yes, definitely keep even the whole grain ones to a minimum too.
