OMG I think I just dumped!

Thanks for the heads up! I had an experience just swallowing a multivitamin way too fast. Won't ever do again! I bet you won't either. 😊
  2. Hope everything was a blessing today y'all! I'm quite late in responding. We've had a very busy Father's Day so far. Just now on the way home from my own fathers house. I ate responsibly. They had homemade cheesecake. I don't have a sweet tooth, I usually pass it up, but I had a single bite today. It was good and I won't feel guilty about it either. 😊 @queenbee88, hon I hope you find relief from the heat. Sometimes I want to chug water and remember I can't. It's over 90 degrees here daily. Ridiculous. Some days I feel parched by bedtime, but focus the next day. It is hard to get all the fluids and food too. I know it. Hope your doc gives you some tips and pointers. Keep us posted hon! Maybe what might work for you will help someone else in the same predicament. Just about home now, got to get the kids ready for bed. Y'all be blessed. I might log back in a bit later.

    Vitamins

Took them the very day I got home from the hospital. 2 days post. I definitely prefer the multivitamin patch that I'm on now. I couldn't do the Celebrate chewables anymore, I feel sick just thinking of them. I also take B-12 sublingual tablets (tastes fine) and Bariatric Advantage calcium citrate chewables (taste pretty good).

  11. Hey there!! Totally understand the busyness of our lives. Enjoy the wedding! Can't wait to hear about how your journey is going as well.
  12. Good morning y'all. So I've followed a thread about not screwing over our metabolisms and I've learned that I just may have to count my calories for a little while. I was so set against doing so, but wisdom tells me that I absolutely don't have it all together, even now, when it comes to eating what I should be and enough. Thus, I had weight loss surgery. So, I'm biting my words right now and I'll be using MFP for a while. Until I master eating the way I should be, then I will consider not having to count. I am happy to say I got to about 800 calories yesterday. This will be my goal for the next couple of months. More or less, depending on how hungry or not hungry I am in a day. My exercising is still going on too. I plan to cancel the gym, and workout at home. I'm actually enjoying this. I have weights here and kettle bells. I have stretchy bands and an awesome professional jump rope. I'm sure I'll add to my exercise equipment soon. I love going to academy to see what else I could use and incorporate in my workouts. I plan to buy a balance ball chair for my office at work. This will help strengthen my core throughout the day. I'll post a pic of it. I just had a discussion with my 12 year old about forgiveness. As I was talking to her, I realized that I, too, need to forgive myself for not being wise, taking actions, being knowledgeable and educating myself, in how to take care of my body and be healthy. I am not a religious gal, but I do believe that we are to be whole. We need to be healthy in our minds, our bodies, and our soul. I've mastered my mind (thank the lord!), and my soul (even so, IT IS WELL), but this is a journey to master my body. I'm super excited about it too. So, today is a beautiful day here. I've got my girls all day (hubby had to work mandatory OT) and I'm going to enjoy every bit of this day. Y'all be blessed! 😊 Heres the chair:

    Post-op Olive Oil?

I haven't done it yet, but I plan to add a tablespoon of coconut oil daily somehow. Getting the oil from the inside has a lot of benefits.
  14. All quite normal. Lol. You'll get there!
  15. My nut counts it as day 0.
  16. Good for you for realizing that you'll have to do your own plan. I'm just astonished that the doc and nut would have this way of thinking. I mean, it's like "everybody knows" that is one way to really screw your body up...long term low calories. Wow.
  17. Your doc said this? This is how I gained weight the past 8 years. I'm struggling to eat more throughout the day myself. I'm one month post. I'm getting about 450 cal maybe? I'll have to keep a head count it seems...really hate counting. BUT if I have to do it, I will.

    Pre Surgery Liquid Diet

I added pumpkin spice to my vanilla Premier Protein shakes. Yum. My favorite is adding cold brew coffee (I'm post op) to my premier protein shakes. they're sooooo good. I could drink them all day, but I limit one a day.

    Help!!!

Everyday gets easier! Hang in there!
  20. I found a blog on Pinterest of a lady doing an arm workout. Showed her amazing results after three months.  12 min a day. I think I'll try this and do a before and after on it too.

So after being back at the gym, I find myself loving it, but also thinking I could save my money to go towards a breast lift and workout at home/school track, etc instead.  I'm on the fence about it right now.

Yes, I agree with you @russdroppings, but for me personally there are many factors that can play in getting some amount of shape back...I don't believe I will need any kind of plastics for my arms after I reach goal. They were somewhat muscular before I had the surgery. I lifted them up in flex pose and wiggled my arms around and there wasn't much to wiggle before that. Also, even at my healthiest weight 10 years ago, I've always had bigger arms than most. They're naturally not thin. Although I lost some muscle from not working out right before surgery (due to an injury mostly) and right after surgery, I'm back at it and happy to say not much wiggling goes on anymore. Also, I haven't carried this much weight more than a decade (hope this helps a bit too) and I'm still in my 30's, albeit late 30's, but hey, I'll take it if it means less skin ! :) We shall see!!!!

@biginjapan and @Thejeweledsleeve, have ya'll tried it? I love it. My 7 year old does it with me. I did it with 5lb weights, but some of the exercises were kind of hard with the 5lb-er.

  21. If you're affected by numbers from the scale, I would recommend not using it. I don't weigh myself (I did for my 1st month post op), but I wait until my doctor's appointments. The numbers affect me too. I even don't count calories either. So, I understand. I'm doing well without it.
  22. Hello all...the thread is slowing down. I understand that we all have busy lives, etc. Did ya'll get over the emotions of leading up to the surgery and having the surgery? I did. I was thinking yesterday that my life has just resumed back to normal-just very busy, it being summer and the kids out of school. I'm eating what I can/need to be and just doing what I need to be doing. I'm still excited about the changes that are happening with my body though. I'll still be giving updates here too. I hope you all decide to log in periodically, at least, and give an update. We're here to encourage each other. So, if you find yourself in a pickle, please let us all know. I'd love to help out as best as I can. Today I woke up "feeling" even lighter than yesterday. LOL Kind of a weird feeling, but I'll take it. I found small snacks in the fridge section of the grocery store, Hormel and Sargento...etc. that are perfect meals for me. Has a good amount of protein too, and they're all about 2-3 oz each. Some have a little chocolate/nuts, etc. But I'm not afraid of sugar, so I'm enjoying the little bit that I do have. Has anyone tried these out yet? I love them. Got to go! Ya'll have a blessed day. I'll check back in later. Adios!
