  1. You can, but there is absolutely NOTHING WRONG with the way you're wired either.
  2. That's good. You know what's cool...I don't do numbers and you do. We're having success both ways. Although my nut wants me to do more counting (now) which I'm trying to, but it's not my focus anyhow, but I am trying.
  3. This is why my surgeon says it's hard to mess this up now. YAY!
  4. Sounds perfect for me. I don't like sweet too much anyway. I'll look for it next time I go grocery shopping.
  5. LOL....that's cute and funny! I should tell my hubby to do the massages...
  6. I had to go to Chrome, Edge wasn't loading it correctly. I'm not sure if I've got my numbers right, says I have 12 hours left over with sitting. LOL I don't sit for 12 hours. On another calculator, my BMR is about 1700 at this weight I am now. So, I'm guessing if I lowered the sitting time, it should be about the same. ???
  7. I'm usually not a cardio gal (even though I do cardio) but I'm digging in getting my cardio in with JUST DANCE. I haven't had a session yet without my girls in it.  They love to dance/workout too.  Even if I do a YouTube workout video, they're in it.  I want them to always remember the days that they worked out with me.  I did the same with my dad back in the 80's when he had an exercise class he taught.  That's where my love to exercise came from....I just pray and hope they don't let go when they get older as I did.

Yes, I should be shaking my booty with you guys, also. I losing my booty might have lost my booty forever. Do you love the fast music or a combo?

I like the combo but I like the slower more intense kind than the jumping around all over kind more. Probably because my body doesn't move the way it used to. I was doing a workout earlier and they had fast hamstring curls in it. Those are pretty easy but I couldn't get my legs up fast enough with the video. Lol. I feel like I need to stretch though.

That moment you decided things had to change.

I must be extra sensitive today, but I'm tearing up at all of your stories/experiences. It breaks my heart and no one should have to go through these things. Sure, we've done damage to ourselves, but here's to the hope of WLS that we all had or will have. Blessings to you all! My story is simple. My mother's list of illness/disease is just ridiculous. Cancer, diabetes, etc...the list goes on. I can almost guarantee all of them have everything to do with the amount of weight she's carried through all her life. So, I have vowed that I won't end up like her. I was a "healthy" fat person, so WLS was preventive for me.
  9. So, hey, I'm slacking on my updates here. I do a few on the single updates on the main page as well. I've been posting on some threads these last few days. Anyway, I finally went to get some shopping done. Nothing major. I bought maybe 6 shirts, 2 pullover bras and 2 exercise capris (my favorite). I decided I won't be buying any nice outfits until I'm closer to maintenance. It helps that I don't have to dress up for work, nor do I really dress for church. LOL I go in my workout gear. YAY! I spent maybe $100...I try to keep it cheap/simple, since I won't be wearing these for much longer, as anticipated, but I could actually wear them, they'll just be too big, but ok. Like I did with my 2x shirts until now. I bought XL shirts and XL capri pants, and L pullover bras. I could fit into L shirts, but it's just a teeny tad fitted on my stomach and I don't like that. Maybe in a month I'll wear a L, I have a few clothes that I had previously at that size, so I'm good for now. Here's an NSV...kind of intimate, but it's something to celebrate. The more weight I packed on, the less libido I had to want to do anything in the bedroom. I basically had to really gear up to it. I always felt bad about it for my husband. So anyway, 24 less pounds makes a difference...my libido has gone up. I'm actually amazed...and my husband is happy. LOL My belly isn't hanging over as much anymore...I see the crease diminishing. I'm also anticipating not having to have a TT afterall...just some flab which is liveable. I don't plan on wearing clothes that show my belly anyway. Since changing back to regular vitamins (from the Patch), I can see the difference and feel the difference. I don't think the Patches were doing anything for me really. My nails are getting strong again and I have more energy. Glad I decided to go back. Now I have two months worth of Patches with no where to go. Unless I find someone locally that can use them pre-op. I finally got a thing of Halo Top ice cream a few days ago. It was free...I had a coupon from my store for a free one. It's still sitting in the freezer uneaten. LOL I have to be in the mood for ice cream...never was one to just want it all the time. Guess because it's sweet. I don't do sweet very well. So anyway, when I finally try it, I'll give my two cents on it. Hope you all have a great day today!!!
  10. I've seen this and wondered. I'll have to try it now, since you mentioned Starbucks!!! LOL Thanks!
  11. Do you have to download this calculator? I cannot find where to use it.
  12. Definitely going to try this salad and this simple dressing. Sounds yummy.
  13. I'm the opposite, I hate having leftovers in the fridge, have always froze them. I'd encourage you to start freezing your portions that are leftover...it'll be easier to say no too, having to get it out and defrost them, etc, then to just grab what's in the fridge and start eating. You can do all of these things...and the fact that you've reached out on here with your concerns is a step forward. I've noted that you've been reading people's experiences/questions, etc...but now that you came out with your own, try to keep it up here. I think the folks who tend to be more active here, with answering other's questions, etc...are all doing a great job in the success of their own journeys. I plan to be, that's why I'm here everyday myself. Let us see GWBICSTER all over the place!
  14. Yes...it'll catch up. My surgeon mentioned that it's hard to screw it up now (being so early post op), but easy to do later. Types of food is what we have to change.
  15. Pretty much what I suspected too. Well, if it's the case, that's just sad.

    Seven Years Out

I started at 244 surgery weight and i'm 5'6". I love reading journeys and seeing pics of people like you who look awesome and no skin surgery, etc. As i see my belly going down, I have accepted that I may never need a TT after all and I'm fine with whatever little bit that might be there later. I'm too old to be going around showing my belly anyway, so... LOL Thank you for sharing your progress and your pics. It's very encouraging and inspiring. Btw...LOVE LOVE LOVE your tat!!! If I'm seeing it correctly on the computer, it's wording that looks almost vine like with butterflies? Correct me if I'm wrong. I've been thinking of what to get on my arm when I reach goal.

    Cigna needs more info[emoji35]

I have Cigna and my letter did not say anything but approved for such and such day. You should call Cigna and get info on your own. It might be approved already. Who knows, maybe someone sent the wrong letter by accident? Could happen.
  18. This is good...stay in control. You will do well and AWESOME!!! Blessings to you hon!
  19. I'd like to know too, what surgery? No info given....
  20. well, the only answer I know of, ya'll already know it. Surgeon, Dr Matthew Weiner states, "The only reason why people gain weight back is going to back to old/bad habits"....so, do the opposite. Stop drinking the calories, etc. I'm 8 weeks post op...and I caught myself grazing the other day. Very bad habit for me. But it was nice to be mindful of what I was doing and thinking about why I was doing it. Today, I'm not grazing. I will not go back to those habits...and I have to constantly remind myself of it too. Ya'll can do this...get back on the wagon trail, which is bumpy (we're not perfect and we will mess up/fall off), but we can definitely make the changes needed to stay on that trail. You can do it.

    First day back in Zumba

I used to do it, about 13 years ago. Zumba is not the same as it was years ago when it first came out in the US...I think about 2004 or 5 maybe. It was strictly latin dance, but now it's mostly hip hop...but having said that, it's still a great workout. I just miss the original moves. (But I'm a former latin dancer that WAS in the making as well-very partial to the old stuff) Like the above posters mentioned, you'll build up your endurance back up. Give it some time....when did you have your surgery? ....don't ask why i gave a lesson about Zumba, I do not even know why!....LOL
  22. Surgeon told me stuck feeling in the throat is a result of overeating. But maybe it's drier food? I've had it a few times when I ate one too many bites of something. I usually don't eat more than 2 oz at a time and I'm 8 weeks post tomorrow.
  23. I took off one week and have a desk job. I was just tired/foggy that week I went back, but I was okay as well. I didn't have a drainage ball (don't know what that is) hanging.
