  1. Thank you for the "great job" I appreciate it. I'll be sure to start using it more, daily...got to make it a habit. I used to play with all the lights off with my 3 brothers and sister when my parents would be out. It was a lot of fun, I'm sure you did have fun. My house is so little now, there's no where to really hide. LOL But I wouldn't mind doing it again some day. I almost wanted to put, "I can't wait till I have grandkids" but I thought about it and decided, NO. I can wait!!! But when the time comes, I'm sure I'll enjoy them.
  2. I should probably be asleep, just so I can be well rested before the four year old wakes me up with a breakfast demand. But first, today's menu was pretty good. I actually went over protein, which I wasn't trying to do. I made scrambled eggs with veggies for dinner. Threw some salsa verde and a little cheese...yum. So I weighed 4oz even though I knew I wasn't going to eat it all. Threw some cheese, made is 4.7 oz. Goodness, it was too much! I weighed what was left, 1.8 ounces, so I had 2.9 oz for dinner. I'll see how it goes tomorrow. Still don't like my warning burp being gone. 😕 So, goodnight! I'll check back in manana!!
  3. I do know if I decide to eat pork rinds, which I did, but didn't get very far, I almost instantly wanted to munch on something else. Even though the rinds aren't "carb-y", my body responded to them as if they were chips, I guess. I do eat sweet potatoes, but don't get that way with them. So, yeah, I think I get you. 😊 Glad you had success with the steak. Even though I haven't been eating meat, it sounds yummy! Lol
  4. Ditto! @Missy161 You can surely stay here and learn with us. We'd love for you to stay around. Congrats on your wls too hon!
  5. Thanks. I'll whip out my scale and start using it. I kind of miss my warning burp, but I'm actually glad to not be burping all the time either...not so lady like at times. LOL I think I was tired because of the workout, then all the errands, then taking my daughter to swim (out in the spoiling heat). Funny thing is, as tired as I was, I couldn't go to sleep (huge mistake of drinking some green tea yesterday eve). I looked at my protein yesterday and it was kind of low too, so it's a combo of everything that got me good yesterday. Today is much better..so far, but the day hasn't really kicked off (usually happens after work). So, we shall see.
  6. Totally agree with Apple1 on this one, makes sense to me. But also, however you're apt to do it and be successful with it is just fine too. Nice to hear from ya hon!

    I've Lost It Today!

I am plant based but have to sub a protein drink in daily (per nut). I also have decided to keep eggs and cheese until I reach maintenance as well, or maybe forever? But yeah, it's much harder to get your protein in with little to no meat. But I feel good, my plumbing is pretty regular and no longer bloated these days. Oh, can't even tell when the last time I got sick either. It's been great!

    I've Lost It Today!

Oh my! You just took me back 28 years when I lived in the U.P.!!! Fudge and Mackinac Island....vaguely remember the actual trip but I remember something to do with fudge and that name! 😊

    I've Lost It Today!

I wholeheartedly agree about @Apple1 she's just so sweet and awesome! 😊
  10. So something new that isn't all that great...my symptoms of eating one too many bites makes my sleeve actually hurt some. I've never had that happen before and also, my warning burp is gone! I think I'm now forced to weigh my food consistently. My body is so physically tired right now I didn't want to even take a shower or even type this up with my thumbs. I'm good on vitamins, not sure what's up. I'll drink more liquids. I'm hoping my brother doesn't call me asking to pick him up from the airport (I normally do). I don't think I can drive 30 mins to and from at the moment. Hope you all have been good! 😊
  11. Ah...the heartburn during pregnancy...the worse! I had it with both of mine, the babies pushing up against the stomach, etc. I am feeling for you hon. I agree with Outside, drink some of your calories. I will always remember my doc telling me that nothing is about me physically during my pregnancies (I wasn't sleeved then), but all about the baby. So, yeah, I second drinking your calories for the sake of your baby. Blessings to you and your baby hon.
  12. So, I tried to save some money by working out at home and realize that I am not determined enough to do it.  I work out, but not nearly as much as I should be.  Doc wants me to do at least 3x a week, and I've been skimping.  My husband noticed too and asked me if I had thought to go back to the gym.  This is unlike me really.  I love to workout...just not at home, apparently.  I really did try though. So, back to the gym today.  I'll have to sign back up again.  That is my element of working out.  I'll take a monthly fee and stronger, better health, than trying to save that bit and slacking.

That's funny - I just came to that realisation as well! I did some research last night and found out that Gold's Gym here in Japan is now open 24 hours - which means I can go in for early morning workouts before work! I'm so excited, but I won't join until September as I'll be away for most of August.

That's great @biginjapan! Great to hear from you too!!! :) My gym is 24 hours too, but there's no way I'd go before work...lol Tried that and it doesn't work for me. I have from time to time gone at 9 or 10 in the evening...usually weekends. The 24 hours are very convenient. I'm happy you get to utilize it soon!

Thanks @Newme17! I usually wake up at 4:30 every morning (well, weekdays), so it makes more sense for me to do it then, rather than in the evening when I am tired and spent after a 12-hour day at work.

  13. That'll happen. The more energy you expend, the more fuel your body needs. Just be sure that you aren't overeating; having classic symptoms of food stuck in the chest, your sleeve hurts, etc. As long as you aren't, you'll be fine. Pool time is awesome! I wish I had one close to me with water aerobics or something.
  14. You're welcome hon. Glad I can help. Let us know how it goes, if you'd like. Maybe it'll help someone else too.
  15. Please definitely talk with your doc about it. It could be that you're not ready to do 3-4 ounces of food and that's ok. I don't. If you force it, it'll hurt. So I'd say go lower, eat 2 ounces only and see how that feels. If it's still giving you issues this far out, then absolutely get in touch with your doc. My biggest concern is not getting your protein in. I'm not a big advocate of high protein, but I do know the importance of getting the minimal in, at least. Please call your team hon.
  16. Lol. I don't play it. It'll have to be another way!
  17. Haha!! Thank you for your compliments! I still think I need some good lessons, but my mom was always gracious enough to teach us how to cook growing up. It was our duty to be along side her while she managed. reminds me that I must start and be diligent with my kids to be with me during dinner making. Maybe they'll eat more of it too. Especially my oldest, she's the hardest to even want to teach. Lol
  18. It had to be the shoes!!! I can walk with a semblance of normalcy today. So I threw them. Won't spend $150 on a pair that was supposed to be good for me again. I was fitted and my walk was tested too.  So, I'll stick to New Balance or something at a dept store from now on.

I went to a running store a few years ago and had a fitting and walk testing as well. Hated the shoes I ended up with. They were expensive and gave me worse pain than I started with.

Getting fitted is a good idea in theory, but who knows how accurate of an analysis they're doing. I later went to a sports medicine Dr and got Rx insoles which helped tremendously. I even had a pain at the top of my knee that went away. I really feel a person should get both good shoes and a Dr to check you, but I understand not everyone is able to do so.

Sounds like my ordeal! I did go see a podiatrist...she recommended me to a few stores around her for a fitting. I'll look into Rx insoles if my store dept shoes end up making them worse too. Thanks for that...didn't know you can get prescribed insoles!

Yes, and my insurance covered them too! :)

  19. Also depends on the food too. I found that I can finish 3-4oz of a light salad but only 2 oz of anything else and I'm 9 weeks out, today.
  20. Is it specific foods or textures or everything you're having a hard time with? I still don't eat more than about 2 ounces every time I do. Maybe I've done it one of the times I felt like I overdid it with one bite, but it's hard. Have you called your doc for some info?
  21. Today was a busy day of nothing at work. Lol. It wasn't until I got off work that it truly became busy. Went home and cleaned out my daughters room (they won't even know what was thrown or given away). Decided to make a new recipe for dinner. These days every dinner is a new recipe. I'm loving it. So, today's is Roasted Teriyaki Mushrooms and Broccolini Noodles. I substituted the soba noodles with fettuccine, cause I didn't have any. Now, I'm am not a pasta fan. AT ALL. I have always passed it up. I'd make spaghetti for the family and I'd eat something else. That was pre-op. I still feel the same way. Anyway, I took a pic of my food. It was soooooo good. Tasted like high quality restaurant food. Yum. My whole family ate it up...well the girls picked out the pasta. And guess what was left? The pasta! Lol
  22. Yay!!!! We love having ya.
  23. I do too! Often I dream of coming in to money in some miraculous way and having us all get together, my treat of course! Lol. It could happen!!! Ya never know....
