I need to buy it as well, I know I'll enjoy it; I enjoy the website and that special he had on. Trying to finish up Proteinaholic though. Almost there!

Ugh...that "time" I don't always feel so great. Usually feel like a big blob and my body retains the water. I haven't been as diligent in my liquids I used to be so time for me to focus on my water intake. I crave coffee all day long and that's not exactly the best of liquids for me. I usually can tell when my lips are getting chapped (and they're chapped). It's very easy to confuse thirst with hunger too, so that's another factor I have to be mindful of. Question: what has everyone eaten today (or yesterday-depending on when you've read this)? Here is mine: B: cold brew coffee with almond creamer and almond milk S: savory kale salad L: another kale salad with apples/cranberries and sunflower seeds S: Enlightened roasted broad beans (sea salt) these are perfect to throw in purse or bag or even car to have something on hand. D: White bean and spinach enchiladas (yum!) S: couple of forkfuls of Quinoa Tabbouleh with tahziki sauce and 2 chickpea/lentil nuggets -

It's not even the doctor of Proteinaholic I was talking about, he didn't spend his lifetime studying diet, although he does dispel the myth about a lot of stuff and it's not based on opinion either. So.... -

Seriously? I don't normally and don't think I've ever pointed out someone here on the forums, but you have something negative to say about anything that is pointed out. I'll gladly take a scientists/doctor (who has studied all the research and clinical trials for his lifetime work) findings over what a forum poster has to say. I'm sorry you can't see or hear what was said/shared. I don't think you even did read or listen actually. The science is there. It's proof, what more do you need? Wow. Smh. -

Here is another link (based wholly on science and facts) about eggs: https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/eggs/ https://nutritionfacts.org/video/how-the-egg-board-designs-misleading-studies/ -
I believe many are not after the health aspect but the vanity aspect. We all know that going from obese to normal is healthier, but it's the questions of "how much weight can I lose?" "What size will I be?" "How can I lose faster?" that seems to be the forefront of all, whether wls or dieting. Seems to become a true health issue when it's too late (or being diagnosed) and then we start to think about our insides more. Does that make sense? I told my surgeon, I'll be very happy (and continue to be) if I stay at 205lbs knowing I'm truly in optimal health now. He got a smile and nodded his head like "this girl has got it". I'm am very grateful for the knowledge myself and it's just too hard to ignore the science and facts even if I tried to. It's just too clear to be ignored.

Ok I am maybe 85% done with Proteinaholic. Slowed down a bit due to being super busy this past week. I love the new found knowledge I have that is backed up with source. I love being introduced to Dr michael Greger (thanks again @fruitandveggies!) and learning so much science. BUT I find myself (not being superior-like) holding my breath and rolling my eyes when I scroll through all the bad advice given from other forum members!!! I want to shout science but have a feeling it won't go very well, feels almost like a minnow in shark infested waters. when the time feels right, I'll speak up. For now, I'm enjoying this choir. 😁

That looks great and filling. Is that the bean salad recipe you shared on the other thread (or was it here)?
-
Could be the hubby's plate??? Lol. I take pics of my hubby's a lot, just cause it looks more put together than my tiny portions.
-
O-my! No, I couldn't handle it either. 😂 I'm not offended either, just not my cup of tea!

I'd love to know more about and to try exotic/foreign produce and how to cook with them-or even just more international vegan dishes. I've been doing many meals from the vegan (and a few vegetarian) recipes on budgetbytes.com it's pretty much my go-to site now. I need to venture to others. I think there's only two recipes that I've (or my hubby) made more than once. Otherwise, we've been having a new meal most everyday for the past month or so! It's been quite fun.

I'm curious too. Your question reminds me of results that that Dr Greger mentioned on his "HOW NOT TO DIE" pbs special about cancers and such, how eating plants and eliminating animal meats can combat certain diseases in as little as two hours. So, even though visceral fat might not be in the same category of diseases (is a major contributor though), MAYBE the plant based diet eliminates that to protect your organs as well??? This calls for some homework....😊 Update: ah, Dr Greger mentions the question that needs to be asked is "where do you get your fiber?" This makes sense, A 2011 study from researchers at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center discovered that an "increased intake of soluble fiber was associated with a reduction in belly fat." But it doesn't say for how long the benefits of a high fiber diet (that can come from a WFPB one) will result in the changes.

Lol. This is funny. Hmm...my parents usually do the turkey (even though I did it the last two years), so I might pass it back and do the sides. Not sure either really. I'm not opposed to having meat during special occasions I'm just wondering if I'd even care enough to even eat it then. Was super hungry out and about today, had to stop by the convenience store for a money order and thought that I might find something. Nope. Nothing sounded good even though I was super hungry! I just hurried up to my kale/apple salad that was waiting for me at home. 😊 All that to say, I had the option of getting some kind of meal or pick up some junk food, but being WFPB has made my body pretty much want to reject those foods now. Which is all good!

Say what!? Wow, that is pretty awesome to hear. Nice!!!

Whoa, 50lb!? That's awesome. I wouldn't worry too much about how fast it goes, the main thing is that your body is getting healthier with each pound lost. 😁 Great job and welcome to the forum! -

And I like what your surgeon told you. 😉 I like to think of myself NOT going with the flow; it's pretty freeing for me. In fact, I'm reminded, now that I'm posting this, I don't recall the last time I logged or thought about what I've been eating. IMO, that's freedom. I understand if some don't have the discipline or whatever and need to log and count, I do not look down upon them. I do not think myself superior in any way, I've just found freedom in what I do for myself and I hope many others can and will too. What also helps is that I have chosen a lifestyle of health that makes it really hard to eat bad or gain weight, a Whole Foods plant based diet. 🥒🍏🥕😁 -
