May 15th, 2017 Sleevers Check in Here!!!
Newme17 replied to Newme17's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have days where I am slacking on my Water intake also. I am back to my coffee and green tea habits. I am taking solace in that Dr. Greger says coffee is super healthy as is tea lol. Great excuse!!!! I made myself get through 32oz of water today. Had 10 ounces of coffee this morning and about the same of cold brew coffee this afternoon. I think I did a-okay. I'll be trying for 48 oz of agua mañana! -

Awww hon! Welcome!!!!! You can come in here as you please and participate with us! 😊 As for the stall, I think I'm with you on that too, I just don't know my numbers, but I certainly feel it. After stresses of the last week and a half, I do believe it'll go away soon. Have hope hon, we just had our surgeries (doesn't feel like it though) and we're not done yet! -

Hey ya'll....hope everything is going alright! ???? I haven't weighed myself but feel like I'm at a plateau maybe. My clothes, I just bought a few t-shirts not too long ago and they're flowy now. I have to buy more bottoms (I'm sticking to jeggings and exercise bottoms) they're too big. I would have to say I'm probably a size 14 maybe??? I really do not know. I'd love to get some jeans, I miss wearing them. Soon. I haven't been able to go to the church store (they have thousands of clothes) yet, timing is off and there schedule is when I'm working. Ugh. Anyway, all is well, but I do struggle with my water intake, that, I'm mindful at least. I'd rather drink cold brew coffee all day, but I know it's not good to do. Again, hope everyone else is doing well....let us know! -

Feels better today...I can limp on my heel. LOL -

Makes me feel good to know my insides are all good and getting healthier too. When I was younger it would have been for vanity...so glad I grew up. I don't count but it's refreshing to see that the app is just a checklist and super easy and simple too. I think I'll try it out!

I do believe it! Just seeing the health transformations of people on the documentaries switching to a WFPB is motivating to follow. There is so much evidence proving plants heal. It's amazing. I think I'll order the book this weekend.

Unfortunately I won't be able to participate. I fell from the deck steps (while carrying a small table), missed the step somehow and twisted my ankle. It hasn't swelled, but I surely can't put weight on it. Thankfully I still have my crutches from, unfortunately, other injuries. I'm gonna have to get an X-ray. Just don't feel like going right now. -
I had to get up and see what I bought....LightLife SmartDogs... I'll see if I can find the Field Roast brand at the Natural Grocers as well. I think I'll need to try different brands and hopefully get my kids hooked on one of them. They love hotdogs.

Even if the gov didn't, there are thousands of Texans here that are committed. A contractor at my church is out rebuilding already, tons of people I know are pitching in any way they can. Tomorrow, my husband and I are going to get out and help what we can as well. We will take our children and have them help. It'll be a good lesson for them to be grateful for what they have. -

That's a good motivator to not spend your money elsewhere huh? -
Unfortunately that date will always be associated with what happened....but don't let fear and superstition deter you from moving forward in your life. There are plenty of blessings on that day as well, your surgeries, birthdays, etc. Stay positive and congrats on your upcoming surgeries ya'll! Be blessed.

Best way to Stop Losing Weight
Newme17 replied to Apple1's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Gym time baby! LOL Have you considered getting maybe 2 pound weights and running with those? They're super light, but will add some strength training during your runs. Maybe work your way up to 5 pounds? My dad was always running with weights when I was growing up; I was just reminded of that. Memories.... I went and "ran" on the elliptical today. Had a real good workout. I wanted to do my weights too, but I already spent an hour there. I try not to stay more than that. Tomorrow will be the weights. -

Best way to Stop Losing Weight

Believe it or not, I gained most all my weight from not eating enough. My doc would get on to me for it...made me try to eat more. I didn't have any medical issues other than, not eating enough and eating the wrong foods. I took pride in being one that didn't eat, yet I gained tons of weight. I'm in my element now of not having to eat much because of surgery, which is nice. -

Well, getting back to some routine here after Harvey. CC was spared the devastation, we had a bunch of mess (no power, tons of trees down, etc), but our neighbors, Rockport and Aransas Pass weren't spared. They're only 30 miles northeast of us so it's heartbreaking. Many members of my church are helping out over there as well. If I had someplace to put my kids, I'd be there too. School is out until Tuesday and so I haven't been able to go back to work either. It's just been a mess all around, but God is good. I'm thankful for the unity and love that is being shown and sown these days. So, back to focusing on my WFPB way and getting my kitchen finished!!!!!! Lol. Yep, still not done. Smh🤦🏾♀️ -

Lady you look awesome!!! Wow! You already have a date? Didn't know that can be done so far in advance. I am planning a breast lift for sure!!!! I'll have to wait till I'm closer to goal or at to determine whether I think I need a TT. I'm hoping my skin kind of ounces back a little. There's hope! 🤣 -
Any Vegetarians or Vegans Who've Had the Gastric Sleeve?
Newme17 replied to Frmbandtosleeve's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I, too, went Whole Foods plant based a few weeks back, I had the sleeve. I don't worry about my protein levels (nor anything else). I believe that my WFPB diet will take care of itself. And so far so good, my labwork came back awesome. Nothing my doc to worry about or deficiency in anything either. Still losing weight but even better...I'm getting healthier too. 😊 -
You will get there before you know it. It's hard to imagine that it's only been 3.5 months since surgery for me, I'm sure you'll feel the same at this time as well and to enjoy your veggies!

Was at the grocery store today and ran in to a lady at the vegan/produce area. She gave me such great reviews on so many of the products. I was buying some veggie "hotdogs" (hopefully I can get my kids to like them!) She stated that she went plant based after watching a few documentaries back in April and hasn't turned back since. Now I can't wait to try some of the other items...it really has been fun with the variety of WFPB dishes. There really is no end....😊

Totally forgot to take a pic, but I made this awesome recipe today. One of the times I wish I couldn't just eat a few bites! Lol Had to eliminate the bun after two bites so that I don't get too full too quick though. http://peasandcrayons.com/2016/09/buffalo-chickpea-veggie-burgers.html

I too agree. Incorporating more fruits and veggies and making it the star on your plate helps. It's easy that I didn't really care for meat in the first place, but I don't mind having it sparingly...maybe special occasions or if I'm invited to dinner and the main course is meat. I have to be respectful. 😊
