This goes against the grain of going lower in calories, etc...but is he eating enough to start losing weight? I ask because my brother who used to be over 300 lbs at one time (he's 6'5") was trying to figure out why he wasn't losing any weight, but gaining weight as he kept cutting his diet down. He went to a nutritionist and found out that he wasn't eating enough. His nutritionist put him on a higher caloric diet and the weight started to drop. Same thing happened with me; my doc was always on to me for not eating enough; thus I gained weight. So, not to be all contradicting with you @Berry78, but the 1200 calorie for your husband will only work temporarily...he won't be able to sustain that low of calories for his height/weight. It'll all come crushing back on , like most everyone here has been through. There are healthier ways of losing weight without going so low in calories. 1200 sustainable calories is meant to be for 4'2" woman/girl who weighs 80lbs. Even though this calculator is just a general idea, it's a good idea to check it out and see about where/what your husband is doing. http://eatmore2weighless.com/weight-loss-calculator/ I hope you find a way to help...but ultimately, it'll be his want to change/help himself...you're the cheerleader. Keep cheering him on hon.

HEALTHY Vegan/Vegetarian Recipe Swap and Pics!

That’s it!!! I’ve just realized that I’ve been making these for the last three years! Probably the start of my education to plant based while trying to get my kiddos to eat something healthier. 😊 -
Oh yes. I’ve heard and read countless stories of improved health from adopting a healthy Whole Foods plant based diet. Even to just as small as improved acne (which I’m sure is huge with some). Imagine how much health saved if the western world would adopt this way? The western diet has gone too far, and now it’s up to the select few doctors and scientists to go against the western media, corporations, and the government, to expose by science and testimonies that plant based is the only lifestyle diet that is long term sustainable for your health. Folks may say “oh, I can eat keto for the rest of my life.” I’m sure they can, but at what cost to their health long term? Why I love Dr Greger’s website...you can be educated and make the decisions on your own based on facts: “Here at NutritionFacts.org, we believe that a significant part of the problem is that individuals who want to make the correct dietary choices for themselves and their families are faced with a deluge of confusing and conflicting nutritional advice. Our goal is to present you and your doctor with the results of the latest in peer-reviewed nutrition and health research, presented in a way that is easy to understand.”

HEALTHY Vegan/Vegetarian Recipe Swap and Pics!

I used to follow a recipe but forgot the ratios of everything long ago. Now I take about 3 very ripe bananas, mash them up. Sprinkle in cinnamon (more or less depending on how you like it -or you can do pumpkin pie spice), and add rolled oats until it’s a drop cookie consistency, I guess. Place them on a parchment lined baking sheet, kind of flatten them down to cookie shape, and bake on 350 for about 10-12 mins. You can throw nuts, choc chips, etc in them as well. Really easy peasy. Smells the home up really nice too. 😁 -

I had very ripe bananas on the counter and always make something quick and easy with them. Usually it’s my banana cookies which consists of mashed bananas, rolled oats, and cinnamon. That’s it! But I wanted to do something different. Let’s do a banana bread. Soooo, I found this vegan banana bread recipe. I was kind of iffy about it due to the reviews, but mine came out fantastic! The things I changed after reading the reviews: did a cup of sugar, added cinnamon, and maybe 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips (whatever I had leftover in the pantry) and baked it for 65 mins Simple Vegan Banana Bread. http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/simple-vegan-banana-bread-368209?ftab=reviews Sorry for the sideways view. Oh yeah, no oil! -

I might need to consider a breast reduction too if these things don't go down. So, I decided to measure myself with a tape. My bras haven't been fitting at all. I used to wear 42K...then went down to 40H....and now I'm a 36I. Ugh. They're smaller, which I'm thrilled about, but it makes it really hard to find smaller band sized bras and large cups. Now I'll have to order a couple to tie me over until the next smaller size, in addition to more pullover "genie" like bras--which are accommodating as I get smaller, but even now, I'm not supported. It's a good frustration to have, I guess. Oh goodness....i remeasured for a close fit/snug and now it's saying 34J! 34 band and 44 cup (not cool) In addition to all the differences, almost every bra calculator online is different. I'm going to have to go with my measuring for sure. Smh. -

I think it also depends on how long they've carried it for. My mom for example, all her life. I know she's got to be stronger because of it. Me, ten years, totally irrelevant for me. But then you also have to factor whether that person did weights during obesity (which I did) or not too. There are so many angles, but for the most part, I agree.

Yeah...apparently severe pain can generate from an infection. I do hope that once the infection is gone, that is exactly all it was about, the infection and nothing more. I was given Tylenol with codeine from the pharmacy, that'll help me out starting out. I'm anticipating feeling much better by day two or three. -

Gone 22 years ago! Also don't have my appendix anymore. So, I couldn't rule anything in those. I thought maybe it's a lady parts issue, due to the location of the pain. But the scan showed all normal. Thank God! Which reminds me...I forgot to do my annual. .....guess I better make an appt now. -

Well, I ended up going to the ER last night. I had such severe abdominal pain in my lower abdomen and in my lower back. I was moaning and groaning, I literally thought I was going to die! I drove myself there praying all the way that I'd make it. Well, the pain started shooting up in to my chest (that's when I really to think I could be dying). I get there and they take a urine sample, blood samples, and start me on an iv of fluids and pain medication. It was a while before the pain med actually kicked in, so I was crying out in the ER with every spasm. Oh, it was horrible! Finally, the pain went down and they rolled me in for a cat scan. Fortunately, the infection I had didn't affect my kidneys. But the urine analysis showed a "really bad infection" according to the nurse. She explained to me that pus cells in urine is measured by numbers and those numbers will tell them how bad/far an infection has gone. My numbers were "TOO MANY TO COUNT" Eeeeek! So, after an hour or so the ER doc finally rolled in and told me that I'll be on antibiotic a lot longer than the three days my pcp gave me. He says that it isn't enough. So, I'll be on 4 antibiotics for the next seven days!!! Ugh...but I'm so ready to be over all this mess and hit my ONEderland!!! -
What are you treating yourself to once you hit your goal weight???

Unfortunately a terrible post is going to happen before my onederland one. Doc called, indeed, I have a bladder infection. But what happened yesterday is weird and painful. I'm not sure if it's a part of the infection or something new and it's worse because of the infection. After having a BM in the afternoon, my legs were instantly achy and restless. This pain didn't let up either. I literally thought that I might be going paralyzed in the legs soon. I tried to sleep last night and couldn't. Felt like I have to have another BM. So I was up like three times throughout the night on the toilet (with no success) and horrible leg pain. Needless to say, I was pretty tired this morning. So, all day my legs are feeing achy and gross. Then I started having lower left side abdominal pain, like a pulsating sharp pain. It comes and goes. It feels like my insides are raw. It hurts to lay, sit, walk, anything. I can't get comfortable. I called the doc and explained it all. She wants me to take my antibiotic and see if that helps subsides the pain in he next couple of days. If it doesn't, she wants me to see my ob/gyn due to the location of the pulsating pain. My stomach is bloated bad and VERY tender to the touch. Again, I don't know if this is all related to the bladder infection or not, but I sure hope it goes away fast. I'm done getting sick...weird that all of a sudden I've gotten two infections in each last three weeks....not cool. -
Totally agree with this. We can only share our experiences and results with others, but ultimately each need to figure it out for her/his self. I like to live against the grain...just because the world does it like this, or the lame media shows something, doesn't mean I have to or should and it doesn't mean it's true. Fact check on your own. Goes with political agendas too. <---of which I will TOTALLY not elaborate on here. Just making a point that too many people aren't thinking for themselves. @Berry78 I am happy for your research too and everyone else here. Great job....especially you APPLE!!! LOL I've got a soft spot for you.
