  1. You look great!!! I totally forgot to take pics! Didn’t even cross my mind. I’m also sick too so I’m not thinking quite straight. Lol. Glad to hear and see your progress! 😁
  2. Today is our 6 months post! Seems forever since it happened. I haven’t budged much these past two months (mostly stress). I’m currently 194. Should I be lower? Probably? Do I care? Not really at the moment. I know I’ll get back in action soon. Until then, I’m still healthier and happier about my physique than before, so I’ll take it. 72 lbs down from my highest, 55 lbs down from surgery. Sounds pretty good to me. Hope to hear from y’all. 😊
  3. It’s been a while. In a few days we’ll be 6 months post. Seems like it’s been ages though. Honestly I’m not as far as I think I should be, but what I’ve lost so far is WAY better than where I was 6 months ago!!!! Hope y’all tune in this week with progress reports. Hope y’all are all doing well too.
  4. I dealt with it pretty bad pre-op; I had a chronic cough as well (usually after I ate). Had the sleeve. Took the ppi’s for a few weeks and ran out. Haven’t had any meds since, nor GERD or the annoying cough. I’m just shy of 6 months post now. I give my thanks to God above (my personal belief) knowing the stats of it and having a sleeve. I just believed and prayed that it wouldn’t be an issue for me. So, my prayer has been answered.

    Not hungry

I’ve never had a number to go by from my nut. Just eat sensibly and not overeat. Sure there are some food guidelines, but she really wants me to be mindful of what my body needs. I often do not finish any last bite. I consider myself a success thus far....you should too. 😊

Depo vs getting pregnant after WLS

I too had depo pre WLS and was pregnant about 4 month afterwards. Sorry I can’t help about post op WLS. I’m sure someone might be able too. Hopefully! Happy getting pregnant hon!!!

    Not hungry

Maybe this applies further out??? Cause I’m surely not going to force myself to eat just because it is “time to eat” or “need to have such and such macro/micro nutrients in for the day”. If I’m not hungry, I don’t need to be eating. That’s like mindless eating. Not going back to that.

    Not hungry

Well that was my rule, but it didn’t apply really. I was physically hungry by day 5. But keep in mind, it was food related, he did want all fluids and protein drinks consumed. I guess I should have been more clear. Reasoning behind it is to not force yourself to eat. Your body will know when it needs fuel. Or should know.....

    Not hungry

My doc’s orders were, “if you’re not hungry, don’t eat.” Just be mindful of your fluids for sure. You will eventually get hungry.
  10. Believe me...you will once you start solids!!! Soups are liquids, much easier to get down and do more of.

    Fundus was large....

Well that’s cool. I would think that having a large or extremely large fundus removed would be true to losing a lot more weight post op. Your body was used to eating a whole lot more, so I’m pretty hopeful your surgeon is right...the hunger cues shouldn’t be so pronounced anymore.
  12. Yay! Our cores will thank us 😁
  13. Will do. So far I’m loving it!!! My back does too. 😊 also kind of feels like the circulation in my legs have improved too. See how my thighs aren’t laying on the bottoms of the seat so much? Not sure if you can. I can slide a small book underneath if I had one.
  14. Without realizing it and this is probably true for many of us with WLS, I just counted the hours since I last ate and broke my fast. Last ate right before 7:30 yesterday and then I didn’t eat until about 10:30 this morning. That’s 15 hours of fasting. This way most everyday is intermittent fasting unintentionally for me. Doc tells me to not eat unless hungry anyway.... oh and doing this without WLS, it’s hard in the beginning. I just about died the first few days fasting 16:8. But like anything else, you get used to it. I’ve had great success, but my mind wasn’t where it needed to be to stay focused on my health long term then.
  15. Fasting and carbs....for most people, yes, they hear fasting and think you’re not eating. Sure there are those types of fasts as well. Same thing with carbs, people think they’re all bad, but fail to realize how good complex ones are for us. So, it’s really all about being ignorant (not a put down) of the facts or just not informed. Once informed, then you can have the realization and hopefully openness that will change your way of thinking for the better. But if you’re not open kind of person, you’ll be staunch in your ways.
  16. Welcome! And congrats on your surgery hon. I hope someone can chime in for soft foods...cause I didn’t really change my diet to plant based until I was on solids. If I should find some time, I’ll do some research for you though. 😁
  17. I’m using my balance disc at work. It’s like getting used to a spin bike seat for the first time Lol. Feels great for my back. But the “down there” is a little numb. After a few days, eventually I’ll get used to it. You can clearly see how my chair back is way too relaxing. I can fix it upright, but it won’t “teach” me to sit up straight all the time. I could easily scoot forward and rest my upper back against it. The disc actually doesn’t allow you to slouch, due to no backing. it feels weird trying to when there’s no back rest.
  18. You are speaking of yourself here. Just do us all a favor and post your scientific sources and we’ll make the decisions based on our own research for what’s good for OUR own bodies. Or I’d rather you just leave this thread....thanks in advance for doing so.
  19. Sooo, I am not in the gym as I would like to be. Apparently even losing the weight I’ve had, the old injuries like to pop their ugly beads out periodically or if I move the wrong ways. I was thinking of what I can do that wouldn’t wreak havoc on my frail body. Okay, it’s not really that frail, but that’s how I feel currently. I found an app for a squat challenge. I’m on day 6 now and after the first two days, I was thinking to myself “no way is this going to make any difference”—I was doing just 10 squats (day 1) and 15 squats (day 2). Well, by day three, I felt all my quad muscles being pretty sore when I get up and down from sitting. Oh ok...it does work!!! So, yesterday was a rest day (barely moved, lol) and today I had to do 30 squats. Which I did and I felt my heart rate go up. Good!!!! So far so good...if I can’t be doing my weights and cardio the way I’d like to, at least I’m working my butt out (and legs) pretty good. I’ll add in some bicep and tricep workouts that don’t require me to use my shoulder as well. Oh, I decided to start on beginner level 1 on the 30 DAY SQUAT app. I’m sure I could skip a few levels, but now doing this one, I know I should gradually ease into the advanced in six months or so. There are six levels.
  20. Lol. First I’ve ever heard of that. I know what you mean!!!
  21. And it was delicious!! Probably my most favorite one so far. I can’t wait to make it again. 😁 thanks for the link in your previous post too!!!
  22. I am hard of hearing, both ears. I need captions most times especially with heavy accents. I missed a little not knowing what some have said but got the most of it (wore earbuds and loud). I did try to find cc though and couldn’t either. Hope you find something!
  23. I found it!!! 😁 thanks so much.
  24. I’m having a hard time getting the video...supposed to be viewed on an app for au, but my phone isn’t supporting it. ???? @Apple1, did you find a us link? Would you mind posting it?
  25. Gonna watch now myself....thank you @Rainbow_Warrior!
