    Urine odor

Hello, For months my urine has the strongest and strangest odor. It does not smell like concentrated urine and it is very light in color since I drink a ton of water so I know it's not that. It is just this very bizarre and pungent odor. I am so embarrassed when my husband goes in the bathroom after me because the smell is so strong. Anybody else had this issue?

    Coffee post op

Yay. Someone talked about coffee. Are we allowed to have it because I am. I had a nurse rip me a new one when I brought it up but I had doctors saying not to drink coffee for years. Now I mix it with a Protein shake to make it somewhat good for me. Anyone had any horrible side effects from coffee? It is just black with protein so I'm not worries about calories.

    Not losing weight anymore

Hey everyone, So I have not lost any weight in about 5 or so days and prior to that it was only a pound. Previously I had been losing a pound a day but now I am just stuck. I am 6 ish weeks out and still following the meal plan. I am working out and keeping my calories at about 500 which is suggested. I know I am not drinking enough water or getting enough protein. I am just focused on calories because my dietician said I wasn't getting enough in. Should I change my focus to protein maybe? It is just really frustrating to be stuck at this weight when I feel like I am doing everything right. Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do? I have a goal of losing 15 pounds in the next 6 weeks for a trip I am taking. I'd really like to fit into my clothes comfortably, ya know. Maybe I'll just go back to shakes and water? Thanks for your time and your input.

    Liquid Diet Diarrhea

Hi. I am 5 days post op and only pooping liquid. Anyone else have this? Black liquid at that. My stomach makes a constant gurgling sound. I don't know if this is related. I am just hoping Diarrhea isn't a sign of anything or the liquid isn't just going around a mass or something. Thanks
  5. Wow. I am jealous of so many of you and your pain experience. I just posted a blog of how terrible mine was. Unbearable! As far as pooping, I pooped straight up liquid yesterday. Anyone else do that? Without solids I don't know what poop should be like. I think I'll take something cause I do not want to get constipated!
  6. Hey. So I had my surgery on the 27th. I had no idea what to expect pain wise. But let me be honest. It was the worst pain I ever felt in my life times 10. And I've had kids so I have a perspective on pain. I woke up loopy and thinking "hell yes. I got this!' but as the meds wore off, so did that feeling. It went from a pain scale of 1 to 10 within a couple hours. They started with their basic meds, then upgraded me, then went to an iv med. But they wouldn't keep me on that even though the iv worked. They wanted me on something I could take at home which does make sense. I was crying and couldn't breathe from the pain. I had chest pains and couldn't breathe so they gave me an ekg. I was fine. Eventually we got a hold of the pain but it took hours of begging for a different type or a bigger dose of meds. The nurses were so hesitant. The doctors seemed more likely to increase it. I am sorry if this is scaring you but I wish someone had told me what to expect. I ended up staying an extra day to get a hold of the pain. I am doing good now as long as I stay in front of the pain. Set your alarm and wak up to take it in the middle of the night so you don't wake up in the morning in agony. I am up and walking now and picking up and doing laundry....probably doing too much just cause I feel good. Bottom line is, it will get better but it was a terrible first two days. I am glad to be home. Advocate for yourself and don't be embarrassed to express your pain. It's the only way you'll get help. Don't be a hero. No reason. Good luck and it will get better.
  7. Merry Christmas everyone. I have surgery in 2 days. I started my liquid fast today. I will do my clean out tomorrow. Any advice to make that process easier or is it as awful as I hear ? I am excited but nervous for surgery. I am doing this surgery without any support. Nobody agrees with it so they are all just not helping me. I will get dropped off and picked up at the curb. I knew that going into this but it is starting to bother me a bit. Oh well. I was just wondering what I can expect when I wake up? How is the pain? I don't have a very high pain threshold so I am a little nervous....especially when I come home to my four kids and won't be able to take the pain meds. Also wondering how the constipation is. Did they give you anything to help? I heard it can get bad on pain meds. Thanks for reading and any feed back you can get. I would love to meet some people and maybe start our own support group. Thanks so much. Happy holidays.

    Preop nausea

That is scary to hear. I planned on getting my house in order and cleaned up from Christmas the day before my surgery on the 27th. Sounds like I won't be very productive. Did your surgery go ok? How long did the clean out take? Thanks
