Hi all! Found a new Vitamin that I really like! Found them @ the Vitamin Shoppe: Slice of Life-they're gummy vitamins for adults-made by Hero Nutritionals. They were $14.99 for 60 gummy slices.

Hi Rachel, have someone looking for a support group in Spring/Woodlands. Do you have anything currently scheduled for May? Thanks! -
Dr. Spiegel - Would you recommend him?

That's great! Congrats! I'm down 31 as of this morning. I'm scheduled for a fill on Tuesday, but think I'm going to cancel it. I don't think I need it. My typical day consists of: Breakfast 1 cup of coffee w/creamer & artif. sweetner small yogurt w/fruit lunch 1/2 - 3/4 Lean Cuisine lunch 250 calories or less dinner Really varies-am usually tight in the evening Eat a few bites of whatever meat we're having-usually chicken breast 1-2 bites of a vegetable I don't eat between meals & I wait 1 1/2 hours after I eat to drink, I only drink Water aside from my morning coffee. I figure if that's all I'm able to eat and am satisfied, I don't need a fill! Hope everyone is doing well! Have a great weekend! -
Hi there! I take 2 chewable vitamins (they're Kroger generic brand) & for calcium I take 3 Viactiv chocolate chews. I let them sit on the top of my mouth and melt since they're chewy. They're 500 mg of calcium and also contain vitamins d & k.

Cool Wendy! I'll be there a little early to get a good seat! Luckily it's on the way home from work & a coworker & I are going. It's been such a blessing to find her! She's the one that inspired me to get the band done after we started carpooling. It's truly wonderful driving w/her & having that one on one support on a daily basis. Dr. Spiegel mentioned to us as a group last Tue & Wed that we should go. He also reiterated it when he came in the room to see me. Happily told him I'd registered. BTW the staff suggests registering if in the event there's a cancellation. Hope to see you there!

I used Dr. Spiegel & am quite happy w/my decision! He was very thorough in his explanation & has been very helpful in answering all my questions to date. I'm registered for my 1st support group tomorrow. Am looking forward to it. He's mentioned each time I've been in the perks of attending and if it's free, why not??? Good luck with your decision!

Wow! I also have a 4cc band. My initial fill was 1.4 & on Wednesday I had .4cc's removed. It's amazing the difference in 3 same size bands. A co-worker of mine also has a 4 & received 1.4 her initial fill. She says she had no restriction. Think she's scheduled soon for a 2nd fill.

Had my 1st fill last Tues & had to go back on Wed to have some removed...woke up very tight & couldn't hold anything down! Am progressing to thicker liquids and some creamy soups. My energy level isn't as wonderful as I'd like, but I'm making it! Scheduled for a 2nd fill on 4/29-don't think I'll even need it at the rate I'm going, but am going to keep the appointment just in case!:rolleyes2:

Well I went in for my 1st fill. Received 1.4 cc's. Drank my water as requiered. Wasn't able or hungry the rest of the night. Woke up Wednesday morning feeling really tight. Drank some hot tea to help losen my stomach & thru-up. Couldn't hold anything down! Was the worst feeling! Went back to see Dr. Spiegel that afternoon. Had lost 5.5 lbs since the day before! He unfilled my band .4 cc's. I felt an instant relief! Drank almost 20 oz's in less than 5 minutes! Since then I've been on liquids. Have worked my way up to a thicker liquid and creamy soups. Can't handle the mushies too well. Counted the number of times I had the hiccups yesterday...13 times!!! Geez! Have lost 14 lbs in less than a week! Am going to stick to liquids as long as I need to. Not rushing like I feel I did before. Am going to enjoy the satisfying feeling of liquids!

Hilarious!!! I thought I was the only one that was FORCED to celebrate Easter!!! Over Spring Break (about a week after surgery) we went to the movies & I discovered I could eat popcorn w/o a problem!!! OMG!!! It was wonderful! My worst attempt? Popeye's chicken...yes crust and all. I literally felt it going down & then right back up...scratchy and all! Boy did I learn!!! I think it took a little burn for me to get the idea.

My recovery was just fine! I had surgery on a Friday & returned to work on Monday. I think it actually helped me to be at work instead of home where I probably wouldn't have been so active. I walked as often as I could. -

Texgirl answered marvelously! It was a pretty easy post-op. I was able to advance prior to scheduled time-cleared by the doc of course! No day is consistent w/the day before for me. There are times I'm able to eat more & then less. Who's your doc dmu & where are you having it done? I'm excited for you!!! -

I also have a 4 cc band. I'm able to eat pretty much anything at this point. It's almost as though I've never had anything done-but not completely! I really don't want to have to go back a few weeks afterwards. A coworker has a 10 cc & has had 2 fills so far. She's got great restricition at this point. She went to some place on Main and she swallowed some barium to see if she was able to pass liquids. It's similar to the test right after surgery. Her pouch actually stretched and she was told to do liquids for 4 days in order to shrink it. The saline was completely removed & reinserted. She experienced the same feeling as though she'd been freshly filled. I'm going to tell him the amounts of food I'm able to consume. I'm hoping that it'll have an effect on the amount of my fill (fingers crossed!). He did mention he determined the size of the band based on stomach size.
