    You are our pioneers!

Wendy, glad to hear that your fever has come down! 106?! Wow!! My dietician said that some people found it really hard to get all the drinking in, but 64 ounces is what I heard, too. Please take good care of yourself. It sounds like you're doing that. Shelly, I'm so sorry about your surgery being canceled! I don't know how I would handle that, except I know I'd be terribly disappointed. Oh well, the 16th will be here before you know it. As you said, this was a dress rehearsal! Debbie
  2. February Flames? Fireballs? fun and free in February? Any suggestions??

    You are our pioneers!

Hey Wendy! Congratulations! I'm glad things went well. Take care of yourself, and I hope you continue to have smooth sailing! Debbie
  4. If enough guys object, maybe we could choose the next most popular name, or combine two, like February Foxes and Fireballs? Debbie

February 10th bandsters! Where are you?!

Hey scorpiokutie! Wow! You've been trying for a long time! Congratulations on sticking to it and getting what you want! Do you have to do a pre op diet? Feel free to stay in touch! Guess I won't complain any more about the time it took me. Debbie

    You are our pioneers!

Hey, Wendy, best of luck, and please let me know how everything went. I'll be sending you good thoughts. Debbie
  7. Just wanted to say best wishes to our February 2nd bandsters. I posted this on the February 2009 forum too, but I think more people will see it here. May you have successful surgeries and smooth, uneventful recoveries. And let us know how you're doing, when you're up to it! We'll be thinking about you. Debbie
  8. It looks like the February Foxes have it, unless, lol, I can extend the time?I wanted us to have a name when our month began. And there is a poll on the February 2009 forum, too. I think it lasts until the 7th. Debbie

February 10th bandsters! Where are you?!

Hey Shaggs, I'm afraid that my liver isn't going to shrink enough, and I'll wake up and not have my band. I'm not really anxious about the surger yet, but give me time! I know what you mean about that sick, anxious feeling. I had a hysterectomy six years ago, and talk about scared! I remember telling my best friend that I couldn't go through with it; I was ready to jump off the bed in the pre op staging area. But it's kind of exciting, too, knowing that we're going through this together. On the support forum I was on for that surgery, we had surgery buddies, those who had their surgeries on the same day. That's you and me, and anyone who's having the surgery on the 10th. My diet consists of full liquids, so I can have low sodium, cream Soups, juice, sugar free puddings, and Jello, and of course, Protein shakes. Last night, I felt like this was the end of the world. I was so depressed because I couldn't eat solid food, and I told myself that if I didn't feel better today, I'd just give up and eat. But this morning I got on the scale, and found out I'd lost 8 pounds. Guess I'm in it to win it! And so are you! Let's keep writing, pm me if you'd like. Debbie.

    Welcome from the 2008 VVs

Tapshoes, what a great sendoff for us February 2009 bandsters. Thank you for taking the time to pop over here and share experience, strength and hope. I'll definitely be coming by to pick the brains of my February 2008 brothers and sisters! Thank you. Debbie

February 10th bandsters! Where are you?!

Hi Shaggs, I guess each surgeon has a different pre op diet, and mine has the full liquids. Boy, do I want something to eat! It comes and goes, and when I drink the Protein drinks that are part of the diet, I feel better for a while. It's really strange, but I sometimes feel like this is teaching me a new way to eat, even though it's probably the hardest thing I've ever done. But I'm hangin' in there, and I know you will too! Let's keep in touch. Keep me posted, ok? Debbie
  12. Thank you to all the Victorious Valentines from 2008, for your warmth and encouragement. I've apologized, because the name was something I chose without even realizing you guys (and gals) had it. And thank you for being so willing to let us keep the name in our poll, and for not coming after me! lol Debbie

    Pre-op Cheating help!!!!

Boy! Am I glad I saw this thread! I'm on the fourth day of my full liquid diet, and I notice that just before it's time for a meal, I feel sad, think about how good solid food would taste. But like so many have said, I don't want to wake up from surgery to find that I have no band. I fought too hard for it! There are people all around us, those who have gone before, and those who will come after. I want to be able to pay it forward, encouraging others as I've been encouraged. It's hard, but we can do this!! Debbie

February 10th bandsters! Where are you?!

I am on the fourth day of my pre op diet, full liquids. Right after I've had a meal, I'm all right; then just before it's time for another one, I'm wondering what I'm doing, if I'll make it. Does anyone find a particular time of the day or night harder? It's not as bad as I thought, but it's definitely not easy! Debbie
  15. Someone said that the February 2008 bandsters were victorious Valentines. If that's true, I apologize, I really had no idea that name had been taken. But it looks like February foxes and Victorious Valentines are tied. So far! Debbie

    What should we call ourselves?

Oops! Sorry February 2008 brothers and sisters! I didn't know that name had been used. February fireballs is kind of catchy, isn't it? I did post a poll on the pre op, February 2009 thread. Wonder if I can change it? Debbie
  17. Boy, Lil' Miss Scareall, you come quite a way. I got a letter saying that I was approved, and took it to Dr. Quilici's office. Maureen said they hadn't been notified of my approval, so it was a good thing I brought the letter. But you do have to stay on top of them. I had to call them to get my pre op diet, which I'd been told would be mailed to me. Julie said she would fax it, but it didn't come through, so I called again and Maureen, who was supposed to have mailed it, faxed a couple of copies. There are a few people in the San Fernando/Glendale/Burbank area trying to start a group just for bandsters. We've met a couple of times, and are planning to meet again at the home of one of the women. Anyone who wants to join us is more than welcome! Debbie

    Exercising on pre op diet

Thank you, Diane. I'm thinking that maybe I'll just go on the treadmill and not try anything else. It will help with all the nervousness I know I'll feel. Debbie
  19. I am starting my pre op diet (full liquids) on Tuesday. Can anyone who has done this tell me if they exercised? I have my surgical consult on Monday, and will ask then, but I'm curious as to whether or not anyone has done that, or do you not have energy? Debbie
  20. Ok, so it's pretty obvious I didn't know how to post a poll, but you all know what I mean! Debbie

    Exercising on pre op diet

Thank you all very much. I have been exercising, and I do have a lot of weight to lose. I'll find out on Monday if my surgeon tells me if and how much. I've been exercising for quite a while, even before I considered lap band surgery, so I'm hoping it just means I have a head start on things. Debbie

    What should we call ourselves?

How can we get everyone to vote? Maybe it's not important to most people :-( Debbie

    What should we call ourselves?

    Victorious Valentines 2009? Debbie
  25. When I got in to the Access paratransit van to go to work this morning, the driver said, "I have an extension if you need it." I've also been referred to as being "full," and just plain "too fat" to sit in the back with other passengers in cabs. The thing that hurts is that I know it's true. But not for long! Debbie
