    Day 4 Post-Op - Is This Normal?

I was sleeved on 12/21 as well I have no pain no nausea. I am having trouble with chest pains. It almost feel like a are a whopper and fries then finally took a sip of drink. I'm am not sure how long this is going to last. I tried to cook dinner for my family today and the pain was horrible. The only thing that helps is lying down. This is what I am drinking out of. I am good if I get two 8ounces down. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Starting to 2nd think!

To be honest with you I contemplated since 2014. I kept listing reasons why I shouldn't do the surgery and changed my mind several times. 2015 I noticed on of my friends who I used to walk with often had the surgery. She looked great and stated she don't regret it at all. She actually eat what she feels and drinks martinis often. She never reported any major problems. She reported having more energy and wanted to hang out more often. I on the other hand was tired often and did not want to do anything but sit in one spot and hope something changed. Since I have osteoarthritis in my knees I decided to go through with the surgery. I can not say if I made the right choice yet because I am only 4 days out. I am in no pain, I am not taking the pain meds and the only trouble I have right now is the painful lump in my chest that comes and go. I am glad I made my mind up to do it and I am hoping for a great future with my new lifestyle. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. Wow this is very confusing. I wish everyone was on the same page. I had sleeve surgery on the 21st as well I was told to only consume clear liquid for this week (phase 1 ) then next week (phase 2) consume only full liquids. Week three puréed meals and so on. I am not interest I eating anything yet. I am researching to figure out what will taste good puréed. I have been up walking and just drinking broth sucking Popsicle eating Jello and drinking Isopure Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Wow I am shocked that anyone would try to eat things that we were told we should not eat again. Well maybe it was just me. I was told this sleeve surgery is a new lifestyle change and I would never and I repeat never be able to eat the following: 1. Popcorn 2. oatmeal 3. Grits 4. Potatoe 5. Pasta 6. Rice 7. Cookies 8. chips 9. Sodas 10. Sweet Snacks. Was I the only one told this? I am following the instructions to the letter because I hate discomfort and I am not interested in finding out what could happen if I went against Doctor's order. 11. So my surgery was 12/21/16 I honestly did not know how or what feel. When I got the operating room I was told that they were going to administer the anesthesia through my I've. The lady asked me to stretch my arm. As soon as I stretched it I was out. When I woke up the nurse was telling me that it was time to walk. I told her I didn't have the surgery yet she said oh yes the surgery is complete. I didn't have no pain at all. So looked down my gown and saw the white bandages. So o got up and to the bathroom. I was later discharged. The ride home was okay. I wasn't uncomfortable at all it felt like a normal car ride. My husband helped me inside and up the stairs. I have been getting up every hour as instructed and walking for 10 minutes. No pain just the feeling of gas: sir trapped in my back. I can't seem to get rid of it. I am also wearing my cpap mask. The only discomfort I'm having is my throatI am having trouble with my fluids. I am trying to avoid throwing up gotta go. Time for my walk. . Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Good to hear you are doing well, I was told to bring my machine and I would wear after I recover them when I get home. As far as liquid in take. I have a 8 ounce sipping cup I started with ice chips on the ride home. Then I had a freeze pop and 4 ounces of Isopure. Now I'm sipping on Water. I am afraid of vomiting so I am taking in my fluids very slow. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Checking In

Sorry to hear about the divorce. But hopefully you are in a better head space. Was the divorce in the making prior to surgery or did things change after divorce? I'm asking because I have heard a lot about homes and marriages falling apart after a person have surgery. I have heard the men get insecure and think women are dressing to seductive. 23. @gr2016. lol I know I shouldn't be laughing but I have been having 2 Protein shakes a day and chicken with broccoli or green Beans since 12/11/16 and today is my second clear liquid diet. Surgery is sometime tomorrow. But I would admit I went to Kroger and picked up a lemon pie. I threw it back on the shelf and said no I have to be strong. Then yesterday this liquid diet had me starved. My husband had a bag of chips and a jar of sliced pickles. I kept thinking I'm going to suck the chip and drink the pickle juice. But I just took myself to sleep. I am happy to say I didn't cheat. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Thanks for replying. Are you maintaining your weight? Do you exercise often? Did anyone tell you that you could never eat Pasta, fried foods, bread and other taste good food. I can't believe you can't eat salad. I love salad. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. @@Tootsietoes I'm am confused. Did you have Bariatric surgery? Was it sleeve? I am asking about the sleeve because that is the only one I plan on having and I decided to do it because I have osteoarthritis and my knees are killing me to the point that all I do is go to work sit down go home sit down. I eat junk food because I'm bored and lonely. Now struggling to get this weight off and find an exercise I can do without huffing and puffing within the first 3 minutes of was difficult and even more depressing. I had to admit to myself I had no will to do right. It was just so easy to thoughtlessly stick Cookies and pizza into my mouth. So with that said I looked into the sleeve surgery and all the risk that come with it not to mention the risk of increasing my new belly by going back to the foods that doubled my weight in the first place. So if my medical care team advises not to eat foods that could do damage then I am not trying to see what they taste like anymore. I'm more interested in finding new foods that would nourish me instead of comfort me. I have a friend who complained about being fat and not looking good. She had the sleeve surgery and she kept trying to go to fast food Windows ordering cheese burgers. And then she had to go to the bathroom to vomit. I'm don't want to do that crap.
