Surgery didn’t work?
dyemond11 replied to Lacecute's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lacecute, I’m sorry that your dealing with this, but I hate to say that this is a rude awakening for you any will be for many others. This surgery is a tool to help assist with your weight loss. You still have to put the work in as you stated your doing. You will find in your journey weight gains and MANY stalls. The stalls could last 1 or 2 weeks, later in my journey my stalls lasted longer. Your not even two months out so your doing awesome with your weight loss. One thing you don’t want to do is compare your journey to someone else. Everyone is different! This will not happen overnight, please keep that in mind. As the person said prior to increase your food intake, Men’s bodies are different as well and will need more calories than a woman. When you come across a stall increase your protein and water intake. Stay focused on the end result, and to reach the end result don’t add in your triggers or those things that are not good for you I.e. chips. There are healthy options if you desire those guilty pleasures. I would definitely wait until later in your journey to indulge, bad habits now lead to more bad habits. Don’t be so hard on yourself the surgery is working and your doing awesome with your weight loss thus far! -
What do you do when you haven't seen reached goal weight and your spouse says if you loose anymore weight it will be a problem? What do you do when your friends and family say you are getting too skinny? What do you do when you have expensive suits and clothing that you don't want to let go of but can't fit? What do you do when you loose first your assets that made you feel sexy i.e. Round booty to droopy booty, plump breast to sagging breast? I'm 9 months out 233 SW 216 CW 157, I've come across many stalls and have been staying at consistent weight for 3 months now. It takes a toll on me as if my spouse will still have an attraction towards me if I loose anymore weight. Is it selfish of me to say screw my spouse feelings and put me and my goals first?

After a weight loss surgery the key ingredient is the amount of protein that is in the powder(20-27 grams), then looking for high calories, fat(less than 3 grams), & carbs(5-7 grams). Oh & not to forget the TASTE, if it does not taste well it would not be consumed leaving you not getting your daily intake of protein 60 grams per day for women. Unjury is a WHEY ISOLATE, not just whey, soy, casein, or made with pea flour. Sugars are high in most things consumed jellos, popscicles, yogurt, etc... starting a new weight loss journey we're eating far less and not able to eat foods that give us vitamins & nutrients we generally need. Therefore we utilize supplements to give us what's missing i.e. Fiber, iron, calcium, B vitamins, biotin in a nutshell vitamins & minerals.

For those of you 6+mos out Carbonation
dyemond11 replied to Aginn10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told by my NUT & Surgeon not to drink soda or alcohol that it stretches the stomach. My NUT told me I could have alcoholic beverages a year out as my surgeon told me to never drink it. So for me I just don't drink either of them. I'm 9 months out. -
Question. Today is beginning of my 3rd week post surgury (gastric bypass) how does your body loose weight getting off liquids and start mushy food today
dyemond11 replied to Desiree molina's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's weird how the body works, but just so you know you will come to a stall while eating right, I came upon many during my journey and I'm 9 months out. In the beginning there were many and I just felt I was doing something wrong, I would switch up my exercise, adding more water, less yogurt & more protein etc... times when I thought I wouldn't loose any weight I'd step on the scale and would have lost 5lbs. You will loose, you will even gain, and you will stall. Just stay encouraged everyone's body is different and will have different experiences. Good Luck in your new journey! -
BMI & approval question
dyemond11 replied to Tator16's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With my insurance I could not fall under 35 BMI, it was difficult especially when I wanted to loose weight and couldn't. The day of surgery I still had to maintain my 35 BMI and not fall below. My pre-op diet was not like most people that I have posted. Mine was one week prior and a low carb diet ( salads, chicken, fish). -
I love love Love [emoji173]️[emoji171][emoji173]️[emoji171][emoji173]️ Unjury protein powder! It's not chalky, no after taste, and the flavor is delish. My favorites are chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla mixed with Fairlife milk, unsweetened almond milk, or just plain water. You can also get plain and add into meals for added protein.

Pain during and after swallowing
dyemond11 replied to dominiquekyani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Key words small and slow! Take small sips and drink slowly & if small tips still cause pain take tiny sips. It will take longer to drink so this is where your patience comes in. You may also notice some liquids are easier than other i.e. Hot, cold, water, broth, milk. Good Luck with your journey! -

First Time Drinking Alcohol Post Op
dyemond11 replied to learning to fly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr. Told me to never drink alcohol after surgery, and my NUT told me after 1 year. I know it stretches the stomach as well as soda. -
Try the Unjury protein powder the absolute best! No after taste and no clumping. I mixed mine with Fairlife Milk, Your taste buds will change but you have to get your protein in, it also helps with the healing of your stomach that protein is very important. Just try it you can purchase a sample from Unjury.com or Amazon I believe sells it. I purchased mine from my local wellness Center which is affiliated with our local hospital.

Get your iron (hemoglobin) and B vitamin levels checked. I'm 7 months out and the being tired with no motivation was due to lack of those missing vitamins.

I love love love this brand! Chocolate is my favorite although I like strawberry and vanilla. Plain I would get if mixing in other foods. It can be sweet (strawberry) if you don't add enough liquid or too much powder. I also love that it has no after taste and I use my hand shaker and it mixes well vs. me carrying my single blender with me to work. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Returning to work after sleeve surgery
dyemond11 replied to Apple1's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
It really depends on your job and what you do. I have a desk job and I took the maximum of what my doctor would give me which was 3 weeks. Although I didn't Need three weeks I took it. There was another lady in our office with the same surgery she only took a week. Every job offers FMLA where you can receive up to 12 weeks of leave per year, if you don't want your job to know you medical reason of your leave have your doctor to write the diagnosis codes only on your FMLA paperwork and not write it out (gastric sleeve). Sleeved in 7 hours

That is my story exactly! The only thing I can tell you is that it will get better! Make sure you walk, walk, and walk. Your in severe pain but the walking will help. After my swallow test they gave me better drugs for my nausea, but not so much for the pain. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
