    Any Aussie sleevers?

I just found Optifast to be too sweet after surgery. But you can do the same idea with any shake of your own making. It will be good to teach you how slow to eat Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    December 13th

6 weeks after surgery. I started low BMI but i still losing weight. My issue is actually still progressing to soft food and eating proper protein rather than shakes which i tolerate very well I can tolerate yogurt plain and with natural fruit. and tiny amount of cheese.(cracker size). tried lentil soup - there are days I can tolerate more of it and days I just can't. I am now 163 pounds down from 190 Surgery day. Any ideas about varieties of food (protein) that you can tolerate acknowledging of course that every individual is different.
  3. I did the sleeve on 12/13/16 surgical weight was 190 losing 9 pounds in pre op diet. Now just over 6 weeks I am 163. But I feel I still can't tolerate a lot of soft food diet. so I resort to protein shakes and protein water. trying my best to get my protein from proper food but still can't get enough as I feel so full from just a 1-2 teaspoon. however, I tolerate very well plain yogurt or yogurt with fruit. a slice of small cracker cheddar cheese a day. I can eat soft boiled egg but that will keep me full for a long time. yesterday i tried white fish one half hand size fillet. it was so delicious but I just felt so full as if I ate one and half a chicken (as I used to eat before). I have always been a massive protein eater. Not complaining, it is great. But I am wondering what is your thoughts in getting real protein at this stage. knowing everyone is different. how frequent do you eat. Because even though i'm losing weight i fear i'm losing the good weight (muscles) rather than fat.

When can you travel after GS

Hydration (double your normal amount) and wearing TED stocking as well as mobilising your feet in flight is the key Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Relatively low BMI results

I started BMI 34. Immediately pre op I was 32 Now almost 4 weeks after my BMI is 29 I still have roughly 30 to 40 pounds to lose to be within normal BMI targets Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    December sleeves 2016

I'm better as well. Walking and walking in the city now. But now 8 days post and I get the cramps every time I eat or drink something. Quite disturbing. Not sure if I am full or not. I'm doing shakes with mango/blueberry and yogurt + protein powder at the moment in few days I will start the purée food if everything went well without problems. Looking forward to the scrambled eggs!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I've just had a walk in the mall for shopping. Tired and resting every 10-15min but still managing to do it. Just Bought some Protein powder to add on on my Protein drinks for top up. I'm cleared for shakes and low fat milk as well as diet cordial and tea or coffee. Don't know how can I get them in. One shake takes me 4-5hrs to drink and I feel so full. But I know the protein for faster healing and energy regeneration. I don't have surgical pain now. Just exhaustion. I think I had a good surgeon. It is day 4 post op. I only had paracetamol once today. But need to keep up with fluids. It is a challenge. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Fourth day post op weight gain

I was also 2.5kg heavier from my surgical weight. About 5pounds gain After discharge but they were pumping Fluid in me. Now I almost lost them all after more than 24hrs at home. Pain isn't an issue now but I'm so tired and sleepy all the time and finding difficulty just getting enough Protein as my doctor recommend. Need to squeeze in more protein. Sleeved Monday December 12th.

Just discharged from hospital. Feeling odd trying out my new stomach by myself. Just scared about trying new things. But I'm getting there slowly. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. Post op is harder. Because preop is your choice to make and has no restriction to deviate. So difficulty itself isn't an issue. Post op is when you feel yourself has changed and you need to adapt safely to this not create any complication but also to provide yourself with bare minimum of nutrients and Vitamin to keep functioning well. So it is a lot of hard work afterwards. Ups and downs mainly up is what we hope for. But no one said it will be easy. I'm day 2 post op. Getting discharged today. 14. yeah i struggle to keep it down. but i guess because he did hiatus hernia repair as well i feel it is trapped inside. it hurts a lot after though. until its effect. I think you need some IV meds until your swelling go down and be safe to swallow liquid. It is ok.. they need to be flexible based on every individual. you will get there on time. my surgeon came by and said I can go home. waiting for them (2hrs) to take the drip away and i'm quite thirsty so want to trickle some liquid in.
  15. Hi sunsetsue, I hope you're feeling better. Last night I had grumpling discomfort. Panadol syrup and oxycodone are such pain to swallow. But I managed to drink water despite the pain. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
