    Timing Issues

Call your surgeon's office and get a referral for a psychologist. The first few months is prime regret time and it sounds like you need some support and help to navigate through the emotions this is bringing up. I wish you all the best! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Sweating

Push harder on them to get in to see an endocrinologist! I was also hyperthyroid and should have been underweight, but in addition to revving your metabolism, it ups your appetite and I could eat out eat the increase in metabolism. An overactive thyroid is really dangerous for your heart. But it would absolutely explain the sweating. Other symptoms can be shaky hands, clammy skin, a very high resting heart rate, intolerance to heat (which you may not notice with the weight loss), if it's Graves Disease your eyes can start to be prominent and stick out a bit (I don't have Graves, I have a toxic nodule on my thyroid gland). Please get yourself checked! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Sweating

Just in case it's unrelated to your problems with the surgery, you might want to have your thyroid checked. An overactive thyroid makes you sweat like crazy. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  4. Left shoulder pain can be a symptom of a leak. Push harder with your doctor to get to the bottom of it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  6. That's confusing and so frustrating I'm sure. Maybe your surgeon could talk to them?
  7. From what little I've read, obesity exacerbates the condition so why wouldn't surgery be a good idea?! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    I'm so worried....

Remember weight loss doesn't go in a straight line down. You will have many fluctuations as you lose. Water retention from not drinking enough can do this, being constipated, sodium... There's no way you're gaining on 900 calories a day. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    SMOKING

People have surgeries canceled all the time because of nicotine in the blood. You don't have to stop smoking, but you won't get your surgery. Which is more important to you? I can only imagine how hard it is to change everything at once, but you have to choose. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Anyone tried stomach taping or bandaging?

In case you can't not sweat it, can you have a heavier liner added to it to smooth out the fabric a bit? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    I cheated

In the early days, this is incredibly dangerous. Your staple line has hardly begun to heal and food particles can get stuck in it and cause an abscess which can lead to a leak or sepsis. Literally it could kill you. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  13. TSA encourages people to tweet to @AskTSA or via Facebook messenger if they are unsure if something can be brought on a plane and they will tell you if you can take it. It's pretty fast. Their concern is liquids. I can't see why they would care about powder. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. Your chances of keeping weight you lose off on your own are somewhere between 2-4%. Surgery improves those odds by a lot. It's not a guarantee and still requires a lot of effort on your part, but you'll have a decent chance which you won't have otherwise. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    The struggle is real

It sounds like you are staking too much of your future success on having the sleeve to be honest. It doesn't stop you from choosing the cookie over lean Protein. It sounds like gaining 54 pounds in 9 months gave him concern that you aren't prepared to tackle your mental food issues. The sleeve won't do that for you. It's wonderful that you are starting talk therapy. That was absolutely my suggestion when I was reading. I think it will help a lot. Along with that, practice eating the things you are going to need to eat forever to keep the weight off. Lean protein and veggies, little carbs are you mention. 19. Yikes. I think you need to stand up for yourself more here! She's being pretty awful and you sound like you're bowing down to her. She's not stating opinions worthy of respect. Those would be "I'm worried about you", "I'm concerned about your reasons for doing this, help me understand", or "I may not like that you're having surgery, but I support you." 20. One surgeon I looked into stopped doing the single incision laparoscopic surgery because the instruments were less precise than using the multiple incisions. It's not very common. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Calf Pain

Did you let your surgeon know? I have a family history of blood clots (maternal grandma had 2 pulmonary embolisms and my dad had a DVT) and my surgeon plans to have me on blood thinners for longer after surgery to prevent one. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Changing personality

That kind of criticism is often misdirected anger toward things the criticizer doesn't like in themselves. She sees her overweight self in you and likely never learned to love or like herself regardless of her size. Since she's no longer heavy that anger gets directed at you and others who are heavy, which is absolutely not fair. In your mind imagine handing that criticism back to her saying, "Here, I think you meant to give this to yourself..." The fact that you recognize what she's doing isn't kind and that you don't want to be like that tells me you're an empathetic person. I don't think you have anything to worry about!
