Food aversion and dry heaving
msnecee replied to musicmovesme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been having a similar problem but mine occurs after I have eaten. I get that same nauseous feeling and I all of a sudden feel like something is stuck in my throat. I cough a lot and then it eventually sends me to to the bathroom to throw up but nothing comes up except a dry heaving or spit that looks like foam. I spoke to my nutritionist about it today at my 3 month appt. Since I am currently taking 4 oz. of food per meal she wants me to go down to 2-3 oz. for 2 meals and a shake for the third meal and I will be following up with my doctor in 3 days if no change. I'm hoping that this helps and there is no other problem. -

Well it all depends on your dietician. Under my plan it states that I can have spinach in my soft foods stage.

Hi everyone, I am officially 17 days post op and I am unable to do the puree diet at all. Every time I try anything puree, I end up in the bathroom. I have spoken to my nutritionist about it and she wants me to keep trying different things. She even suggested tuna fish and chicken salad and its not working either. So I am at a lost right now. I am currently back to my full liquids and eating mashed potatoes or grits since they are considered soft foods and my nutritionist gave me the okay. Can anyone make any recommendations for me please???

I am thinking of doing the same thing. I did try to do the puree stage but its not working so I am thinking of going back to the full liquids.

No I have just been doing the Premier Protein but I was just told by my nutritionist today to try unjury. I am not a big beans fan. I am trying to do the mashed potatoes in moderations due to the carbs but I really need to come up with something else to help. Thanks for the suggestions. Although I am not a beans fan, I have noticed that my taste buds are a lot different so I may try the refried beans and cheese and see if they work.

Yes I have had runny stool. I have not spoken to the doctor yet about the fiber but I did see where someone used Benefiber to help regulate them. But I will contact my doctor to talk about the fiber intake.
