I gained 3 pounds : ( My surgery date was 12/21 SW 241. I weighed 207 last Thursday And now I weigh 210. I am not on my period or expecting it. I eat about 900 calories a day 75 grams of Protein. I try not to eat refined flour or sugar. I don't work out but I'm going to start tomorrow -lifting weights and soul cycle. Has anyone ever had this happen? Is it unrealistic for me to be freaking out about this? I'm grateful for any advice or experience!

Excruciating Internal Incision Pain
mamapaige replied to Meliss80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the exact same thing. You can read my posts. For me, and what made it feel better is walking around for two days while holding my stomach. It was so annoying because I couldn't do anything with my hands while I walked except support my belly. There was a deep suture that needed to heal while I was in motion. I was in so much pain every time I moved that it was healing in a sitting position. And I needed to force myself to walk through it. It sucks so bad I just made myself start walking and that stitch started relaxing and healing in the right way. Instead of pulling and burning. I also used a heating pad at night to relax that deep suture and muscle. When I decided to walk through the pain, it was gone in 2 days. And by day 4 I felt nothing at all. Best of luck! I am 5 weeks postop and I have a general feeling of fatigue and I get winded really easily. I live in New York City so I'm often running up and down flights of stairs for my commute. When I get to the top of the stairs I have to stop because I'm so week. I want to start exercising but I'm so exhausted by the time that I get home from work I can't even think about exercising. Will this start to get better? Will I have more energy soon? Or do you think I should start exercising now even though I'm exhausted and build up my stamina and endurance? I've just Never felt this way before. I've felt lazy and full from food but I didn't feel weak. I am dropping weight fairly quickly. Dizzy Spells When Standing
mamapaige replied to mylighthouse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a month post op. Losing weight fast. Was 241 now 208. But I logged into this app because I was wondering the same thing? Sudden dizziness from standing up. Eating 70 to 80 grams Protein and 40ish carbs. About 800 cal. a day. Going to ask my doctor too. I also feel fatigue and winded quickly. I hope it's just our bodies adjusted. Will let you know what my doctor says. Thanks for posting. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

In NYC. Date was 12/21. How are you doing? I'm doing great. Eating puréed foods. Being so careful that I'm not sure if I'm full or not. Afraid to go over 2oz. You? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anyone do Bone Broth?
mamapaige replied to Newme17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, my husband made big batches of it in a slow cooker in preparation for diet. He used organic bones and takes up to 90 hours to cook. Bit then I bought these ( see pics). I love them!!! I don't have experience with sweet versions like the ones you show. I only do the savory. For me they are a nice break from shakes. They are a big trend in helping the stomach to recover and rich in nutrients. I keep the powdered ones in my purse. They taste gourmet too, lots of aromatics. Can be pricey but worth it! ????add Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
When will the big incision pain go away? I am 6 days post op and I can't walk without holding my stomach. I tried a Belly band but it hurts worse. Anyone have this experience and how long did it last for you? Thank you for any help. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi @@nursemichelle7, How is your incision pain now? Mine is so bad that I can barely do anything at all. (Sleeved on 12/21) The incision looks good but underneath that there is an awful burning pulling feeling. My doctor said it was a big stitch in the muscle. It never seems to get better.... so frustrating. Wondered what your situation is like since you had yours a day earlier? Best, paige Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Post op two weeks help.
mamapaige replied to m3go25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein shakes don't bother me but maybe it's because I make my own. whey, Peanut Butter powder, frozen banana, and almond milk. Taste likes a shake. I'll never be able to drink a pre made one. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Hi, I am 42, 4 days post op. SW 234. My incision (the big one) hurts sooo bad. I can't even walk without a burning sensation. It knocks me to my seat. The incision itself looks fine. Normal redness swelling. Clear glue still intact. Anyone have suggestions? Is this normal? Want to at least be able to walk a little. Grab my baby a toy or throw things away... at this point only sitting or lying on my back are tolerable. Thank you for any advice! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi! I was sleeved on 12/21 too! I'm in Brooklyn, 42 (but fresh to death), 5'2 HW241 SW 234. I bought a fancy scale and I am not even thinking of weighing myself yet. I also had a hernia that was repaired. I did out patient so I had mine at 6:30 am and was home by 3. Although It's like a mini hospital in my bedroom now from the things they sent home with me. I feel good today. Sad that I can't drink big gulps of Water. I'm drinking homemade Protein shakes. Frozen berries, whey, almond milk and Greek yogurt. I can't handle the pre made ones. I am barely getting anything down tho, hopefully tomorrow I can do better. My issue comes from a small spasm in my stomach, like a cramp I get sometimes after I swallow. Maybe it's from the hernia being fixed tho. But it's slowly going away. And I farted today too!!! I was so happy. And then one tiny poop came too. I was so happy I had to see it before I flushed it. The 1st and 2nd day were so bad that I'm honestly surprised at how fast I feel better. The first days I couldn't even talk- the nausea and gas pain paralyzed me. My husband made bone broth for me that has 15gm of protein so I am looking forward to that. It takes 48 to 60 hours to make though, but supposed to be very healthy for you. Thanks everyone for sharing your posts, made me feel better to read. -paige Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
