Hi All
My name is Sian & I live in Cardiff UK. I had surgery 1 week ago & so far so good - I have been overweight all my life - mum took me to DRS as I did not stopping putting on weight from around 18mths - I would put on a stone every year at any random time. Referred to specialist & told metabolism doesn't function properly. That was 40+ years ago & having tried every diet, every drug, not just legal either, I reached a super sonic weight & have been suffering for a good few years. I have been blessed by my ma & pa who generously offered to fund my surgery, where I live in Wales they do under 100 ops per year & that has pretty much dried up due to NHS not fully supporting it! So private was my only option. I am an absolute baby when it comes to DRS & treatments, had a melt down just before going into theatre but I survived - I am now looking forward to working with my tool - I am fully aware it's a tool & not a quick fix all - although disappointed that I am not 10 stone already, I mean geeeez it's quite week post op & my stomach thinks my throat has been cut 😠Came across this site whilst googling SG - so far most of my concern & questions have been already asked & answered - looking forward to spending my journey with u all 😊
