I walked past a friend I hadn't seen in years. He didn't recognize me. So I walked past two more times. Still nothing. I had to walk right up to his face and yell "HEY DAVE, ITS ME, MARK!" Also walked past my Aunt and Uncle a few weeks ago. They didn't recognize me either. Hadn't seen them since Christmas. -

Did your waiste size decrease after the LBL? Or did the swelling keep things about the same? Congrats!!!

How long until you were able to get into a car and drive yourself around after having a Lower Body Lift? Do you think it is possible to go for an 8-hour drive 2 weeks after having an LBL? Thanks.

Swallowing vitamins
FamilyGuyNJ replied to chamilton0323's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still use chewables at 5 months out. Swallowing large pills feel like a golf ball going through my sleeve. -
Vacation at 3 months post op?
FamilyGuyNJ replied to Coreysmissus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did Disneyworld 2 months after surgery. It was not a problem at all. I carried two Quest Protein bars in the pockets of my cargo shorts along with some Crystal Light packets each day. At lunches in the parks, I usually just nibbled on some of my wife's lunch. At dinner, I'd order a steak/shrimp/chicken meal and then brought the leftovers back to our timeshare. As far as the walking, I felt like a million bucks. It's such a relief to take so much pressure off my knees and lower back. I hear walking at Disneyworld is the happiest exercise on earth! -
When does hunger return?
FamilyGuyNJ replied to chamilton0323's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hunger returned within days of surgery. But that's OK, at 5 months out, I still get satisfied after only a few bites of food. It's certainly better than the bottomless pit of a stomach I used to have. -
Chili was great at two weeks. That really helped to satisfy me. At two weeks I was allowed deli meat. I didn't puree it, just chewed it real well. Low sodium ham & turkey worked well. I would add protein powder to cream of tomato soup to get the protein in quick. Also add PB2 peanut powder to sugar free pudding boosted the protein as well as the flavor

Eating out the first time after surgery
FamilyGuyNJ replied to tinab59's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
During the pureed stage I went to Panera Bread and had Turkey Chilli. I ate real slow and chewed very well. Once I could have fish, I ordered Shrimp Tacos at Chilli's. I basically picked out the Shrimp and avocado from the taco and at that only. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app -
I waited 3 months. I actually didn't like coffee after SVG surgery. But I now enjoy 10 to 20 oz each day. Yes, irs caffeinated, but ad long as my urine is clear and my weight loss doesn't stall, I assume I'm not dehydrated. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
