    Crying on the bathroom floor

Thank you for posting this. I've been feeling very down and emotional for a few days after noticing a 3lbs gain. Tonight I seriously told my husband "this isn't going to work, why did I do something so drastic just to be the only one who gains weight after". I've researched 3 wk stalls, but I didn't think gaining counts as a stall. I counted it as a complete failure. So thank you for expressing yourself b/c you made me realize I'm not alone and the responses of others have encouraged me to stay positive. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

    Miserable

I'll be 3 wks on Thurs and I'm pretty miserable. My immune system is so low and I've been sick since 1 wk post op. I'm very ready to start feeling better....I know it's coming, just wish it would hurry up and get here. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

    Almost 4 weeks post op

My NUT likes Optisource. It's a chewable that you take 4 times/day. Everything you need is in there. I'm using that until I get sick of using chewables and cleared to start regular pills. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App How is the taste? TIA Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App Not bad. It's a chalky orange flavor. It doesn't linger too long after chewing it. I like the fact that I only have to deal with one bottle even though it is 4 times throughout the day. You can get it at Walgreens (check their website to see which store has it in stock) and also Amazon. The pharmacists told me today that a lot of insurance companies cover them with a Rx for your doc. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

    Right leg cramp

My potassium levels were really low 3 days post op. My doc had me on an IV infusion of it and then liquid oral potassium supplement right before I was discharged. You should call your surgeon and let him/her know what's happening. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

    Newbie questions

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but is this the first surgeon you've seen? This is a major surgery and for me, I needed my team to be present and hold my hand like I was a baby. I had consults with 3 different offices before I settled on one. With my final choice, my surgeon emails me back within 24 hrs, my NUT(even though she doesn't gave answer emails on the weekend)gave me her cell number in case I needed her over Christmas. Anytime I've had to call the office I'm never greeted with voice mail. I mention all of this because it sounds like maybe you need a weight loss team that's more involved. My 1st consultation with my surgeon felt like I was talking to an old friend about my procedure and every encounter with her since has felt the same way. Just a thought that I'm throwing out there that if your questions and concerns aren't being addressed the way you'd like, maybe another office can fulfill that need for you. 11. Hi guys! I was sleeved on 12/22. I planned on getting a flu vax at my pre-op appt, but my doc's office was out of vaccines and I didn't bother checking anywhere else b/c I was busy trying to make Christmas as seamless as possible for my 2 littles. Well, my husband and 2 kids got their flu vax the minute they were available in Sept, however, my 2yo and husband were diagnosed on Wed with Flu A. It's been so rough for them. On Wed, I contacted my PCP who put me on Tamiflu in hopes that I wouldn't catch it. Well it didn't work. I have a temp of 102, nausea is semi supresssed with Zofran but still having periodical heaving. I sweat one min then chills the next. My surgeon emailed me Thurs and said stay hydrated with Clear liquids and forget about the Protein shakes if I wasn't up to drinking them. The problem I'm having is that I have a horrible sensitivity to sugar alcohols. In fact, my NUT has me drinking Carnation breakfasts with unflavored protein instead of typical Protein Shakes. I've been only drinking Water and broth for my clear liquid option, but it's making nausea worse. If I have even 1 sugar-free popsicle or Jello, within minutes, I have diarrhea. I'm not craving anything and feel like I could go days without drinking anything, but I know I need to stay hydrated. How awful would it be to try regular Gatorade? I don't want to undo any weight loss progress and my NUT won't answer my emails until Monday. I have her cell # but she gave it to me to use over Christmas while she was out of town and I don't want to abuse it. Is there something I could try to soothe my throat, keep me hydrated and not fill me with sugar? Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

I totally forgot about Pedialyte. Thank you! My brain is so foggy lately. I'll definitely try that for electrolytes! Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

    Unflavored protein

My surgery gave me a booklet that suggested not added it into anything greater than 140 degrees Fahrenheit, not sure what happens if you do though. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

Splenda! My mother in law just suggested it and hubs is freezing decaf tea popsicles for me now. I've never tried it so fingers crossed that I don't have an adverse reaction! Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

    End of year transformation

Artificial Sweeteners, not my cup of tea!

I have a horrible sensitivity to sugar alcohols, so my NUT has me using Carnation Instant Breakfast with unflavored Protein powder added as an alternative. I could also add the powder to broth and have it that way. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

Nicholson Clinic/ Dr Roshek, Plano, Tx

Hi there! I'm having surgery at Plano Med Center on Thursday. I'm not sure specifically how the Nicholson Clinic does things, but I know that my surgeon's office submitted my paperwork on Fri morning (Dec 9th) and by that same evening, my insurance sent me an approval letter email. From others I have spoken to, that is very rare. I would call to find out when it was submitted then call your insurance to make sure things are processing as they should. Good luck with everything! 20. I just thought of another... (can you tell I'm hungry right now. ..lol) You can use the Egg Beaters and made those egg muffins I see on so many foodie sites. Just mix them with whatever veggies allowed and bake. Not sure how they will turn out without cheese though. I'm stepping away from this post because now my stomach's talking. 21. I'm a little bit envious of your food selections...I'm only allowed 3 Protein shakes per day for 2 weeks. My surgery date is the 22nd and it's gotten easier for me. ???? Just give additional chicken suggestions, I'd use a Crockpot or pressure cooker for the chicken with various seasons. It should stay pretty juicy depending on the Water content of the meat you buy. I also buy ground chicken breast and use homemade taco seasonings and place that on shredded lettuce. Just keep it very moist with extra chicken broth so you're not tempted to grab salsa (unless that's allowed) For fish, I like to portion out talapia into foil steam pouches. To each I add a different seasoning: lemon pepper, orange zest, all of the Mrs. Dash flavor combos are pretty good. Add a tsp or two of broth to each as well. That way, you're making different flavors of fish all at the same time and the foil steam packs keep the fish from drying out. Hope that helps a little. 22. I'm Dec 22nd. I had a surgery date without an approval too. I was so anxious about it so I know how you probably feel right now. My approval happened within hours of it being submitted to my insurance company so that shocked me and also calmed my nerves. Good luck!!! I'm sure it will be fine. I kept telling myself that doc offices do this all the time and they know how to make sure their ducks are in a row to avoid snags upon submission. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

Lol mine was very similar. I loved the ones asking if you believed the government monitored your phone calls or people tapped into your electronic devices or followed you. My psychologist was very nice as well. Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App Haha. Yes, I forgot about those. 1st Psych Eval Tomorrow 12/13/16

Mine took 3 hours. The initial paperwork took about 30 mins to fill out. Then I spoke to the psychologists after. She was very sweet, laid-back, but also very detail oriented regarding my mental health background. After that, I had to take a "test" that asked various questions including "Do you see people who are dead," "Do you like mowing the lawn" and "Are you scared of the dark" my favorite was "Do you believe spirits control people?" I over analyze EVERYTHING so I was anxious about her denying me based on some crazy question that I answered "wrong" Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
