    Guys ~400lbs that had DS

Yessir. I had the DS surgery Feb of this year. Starting weight was 405lbs. I am now 230 lbs. Goal weight is 175ish. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App

    And I'm 6 months out

It sounds scarier than it is. Treatment is medication. It may also be that the pouch is too small in which case they can dilate. The real danger is dehydration and malnutrition if you ignore it. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App

    And I'm 6 months out

Follow up with your doctor. Sometimes, the pouch stops moving food like it's supposed to and gets backed up. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  4. Took me about 2 weeks before I was comfortable on my side. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  5. It takes about 45 mins or so. The purpose is to make sure you understand the risks and are informed of the drastic lifestyle changes needed to be successful. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  6. Hi Mel. While I am not a lady, my sister and I both had the sleeve with duodenal switch. My sister got pregnant 18 months after surgery and successfully birthed a healthy baby girl. Talk to your surgeon and weigh the options that are best for your goals. As far as prenatal nutrition, as long as you follow your doctor's instructions, there is no reason why bariatric surgery would stop you from having a child. In fact, my surgeon told me that women have greater success with conception and delivery after surgery. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  7. Depends on how much weight you have to lose and your age. I do have quite a bit of loose skin. Loose skin is inevitable. Try to make peace with it and know that you can always have it removed later down the road. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  8. Mostly, yes. The great thing about the sleeve is that it is self-correcting. Meaning that if you eat something you shouldn't you will get immediate feedback. Eat too much: it'll come back up. Each too fast: it'll come back up, etc. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  9. Overall, it's been great. I really haven't had any complications. I am down 173lbs in 10 months. The first few days were tough but it's better every day. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  10. Surgeons have their own requirements for pre op tests. Sometimes your insurance will have additional hoops for you to jump through. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  11. I had an EGD, EKG, blood work, pych evaluation, and a pre-surgery consult with my surgeon. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  12. I am 10 months out as of tomorrow. I'd be happy to help. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
  13. Pre op was easy for me personally. I didn't mind the liquid diet. Post op has been the hardest part for me. Besides relearning how to eat, the mental toll of rapid weight loss is substantial. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App

    Burping

It's very normal. It's common to swallow small amounts of air when eating. Since we have much smaller stomachs, our bodies have to get rid of it faster and more often. If it's a problem for you, eat and drink smaller amounts more slowly. Sent from my LG-H900 using the BariatricPal App
