    Love handles!

Thank you! I was a year post op dec 2017. I have lost 136 so far Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I am a year post op as of dec 6th. I had a few glasses of moscato last week at a party and was fine. I am able to tolerate carbonation so thats my choice. I would definitely stay away from beer and watch out for mixed drinks. You may get buzzed very quickly then sober up a half hour later since your body metabolizes quick now. Anyways have fun and enjoy the holidays Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. I had this issue for the first few months after surgery. I drank a lot of water and ate popsicles especially during the middle of the night. It went away after about 4 months Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hospital... stuff?

Chapstick phone and charger pajama pants or lounging pants hair ties if u have long hair. That's about it.. I brought those items and my zip up hoodie oh and tooth paste and tooth brush. I literally was only there a day or less and the less crap I had to haul home the better Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app

    1 Month POST-OP, did i develop GERD???

Hi. I experienced daily nausea and sour stomach for a long time. I am a year post op and still take zofran in the morning. I suggest taking Zegerid. I still take one capsule daily for heartburn and sour stomach. You can buy it at the drug store. Cvs has a generic brand that has been a life saver. Zegerid is omeprazole and sodium bicarbonate Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Regret

You guys are fresh out of surgery. Give it time and you will feel better. Slowly introduce different food items back in your diet. Do not discourage other peoples decisions just because you are feeling the way you do. A lot of pre op patients come here for support and guidance. I should know I was one of them. I am a year post op today and wls was one of the best decisions I have made. To each their own I say Good luck and happy holidays. Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. It really seems to feel that way huh. I am annoyed with uncommitted immature men looking for hook ups. Sexting is pretty lame. Ya cant get a good perception of a person by looking at a screen. I am not sure where you live but I hope u find someone special. Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Hi. I was like that for a while after surgery. Same thing the gagging the nausea etc. You might want to ask your surgeon about reglan and zofran. Those meds were a life saver. I am a year out dec 6th and I still wake up nauseated but no gagging Best of luck!! Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Super Nervous and Unsure??

You are making the right decision. Yes there is always a chance for complications but life is complicated or can be. You stay strong and brave and show your child never give up. Your family and friends should be supportive and most likely will be. You are making a life long decision. I was very scared and pissy before surgery. I almost did not go through with it because my surgeon had an emergency and i was in pre op Forever! I got so mad i just about ripped my IV out. So fast forward 11 months later and 130 lbs skinnier...one of the best decisions I have made. You can do this! Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Crazy sense of smell

Yes!! It happened to me and lasted at least a few months. The worst was opening canned cat food. I would stand there gagging lol. I was also very sensitive to smell after gall bladder surgery so I am thinking it partially has to do with the anaesthesia. I am 11 months post op now and smells doing bother me anymore so there is hope! Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Driving after surgery

I drove the day after my gastric sleeve against everyones wishes. It was painful hitting bumps but I managed. You should at least wait a week or so to be safe. Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. Hi. I was against wls for years also until one day while laying in the hospital with kidney stones I had a change of heart. I just felt gross and embarrassed and felt like a whale. I previously researched wls and was very nervous about complications and life long decisions. I was never excited even up until dec 6 2016 the day of my gastric sleeve. I laid in pre op for 8 hours because my surgeon had an emergency. During that time i tried to leave twice out of anger and anxiety but with help of my parents i stayed. To be honest after surgery I had ups and downs. Nausea and pain and no appetite and was sick of damn protein shakes! Month after month I got better and better and slowly introduced food items back into my diet. I am currently 11 months post op. I went from 388 lbs the day of surgery to 258 today. I completely understand how you feel and everyone has different experience. Good luck and stay strong! Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pain

Hi. The biggest incision hurt for about 2 months. One day u will wake up and the pain will be less and get better from there. I would have to hold my stomach where that incision was when I got up and walked it felt like someone punched my gut. Everyone heals differently so hopefully u will feel better soon. Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. I used to be against wls until I ended up in the hospital with a huge kidney stone. I remember layin there feeling like a fat ass in the huge hospital gown talking to my mom and she confessed that 4 years prior when I had gall bladder surgery, the surgeon came out and was ripping my mom a new ass because of my obesity. She didnt have the heart to tell me until last year. I decided that day I would prep for gastric sleeve. 6 months prep and had the sleeve done dec 6th 2016. Starting weight 388 now i am 258. One of the smartest decisions I have made. Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app
