    Lemon

@@ez123 I guess the acidity of it is the issue. But he's nervous to let me cook with spices too.
  3. 8 weeks post op and have been back in the gym for 3 weeks now. Weight loss is going great and I'm not in any pain. But my ribcage feels tender all the time. You know when someone tries to crack your back by lifting you up from behind with your arms crossed against your chest? It kinda feels like someone did that and squeezed just a bit too tight. Is this normal? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Lemon

My surgeon was really nervous about letting me even cook with lemon. He finally said I could when I hit the stage where I could have fish because I begged. Even then he said just a little. I haven't had any issues with it though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Returning to work

I took 4 weeks off and when I went back to work I wasn't able to stay engaged for a full day so I went on a reduced schedule of 5 hour days for 3 weeks. I start back on a full schedule next week and now I feel ready. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    People that workout....

I'm 8 weeks post op and have been working out for 3 weeks now. I started with aqua aerobics and took it very slow and easy the first week. Just two days that week of that. Then at the beginning of the second week I went to the gym and tried the resistance machines, all at level 1 to get a feel for what I could do. That week I did the two aqua classes and added one day of resistance machines to the mix. At the beginning of this week, I tried the treadmill. I bought a stomach belt because it still hurts a bit when my stomach bounces. The belt works great and makes me sweat more in that area so double good news. I did intervals of walk/jog for a total of 25 min that day and that was it. That was Sunday of this week. I did aqua aerobics on Tuesday, resistance machines and treadmill (15 min) on Wednesday, and aqua again on Thursday. I'm going to rest now until Sunday. I've felt a dramatic increase in my energy since I started working out and am still dropping weight steadily. Good luck! SW 236 CW 193 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    For the ladies:

I had mine the day I got home as well and it was definitely heavier than usual. Dealing with the pain of recovery AND the pain of the period was no fun at all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. Good questions...my surgeon called this the soft foods phase. I haven't puréed anything. I eat the ricotta bake (truly delicious), refried Beans, scrambled eggs, and lentil Soup. At first, the only meat I could have was baby shrimp. Now I can have flaky white fish, crab, scallops, and tuna. So I've found good recipes for crab dip, crab cakes, Parmesan tilapia...all good. I highly recommend checking Pinterest for ideas. It's strange that some folks are eating spicy things like salsa and Taco Bell sauce. My doc was scared just to let me use black pepper on anything. Told me to go easy on that or anything other spice. Anyway, good luck. The soft foods phase isn't too bad. Then again eggs and beans are two of my favorites anyway, so it wasn't so bad. What to bring too hospital

Pillows, a robe, a phone charger, and lotion. Couldn't concentrate or stay awake long enough for books or movies. Pack light. I brought way too much stuff that I didn't need. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Hi folks. I was sleeved 12/2 and have my first follow up appt tomorrow. I've been on Clear liquids all week and am expecting to be cleared for puréed and soft foods tomorrow. I'm trying to put together a specific list of items to ask about so I know exactly what my allowances and limitations are. Any suggestions? What have you found is a great choice in this stage? Puréed and soft foods

Thanks everyone! eggs, Beans, and cheese are 3 of my favorite foods so I'm pretty excited that I'll likely get those back tomorrow. I hope I can tolerate them. So far the only thing I've not been able to tolerate is orange flavored stuff, like Jello, popsicles, and even my Multivitamin. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I had my surgery on 12/2 also and have been increasing my Fluid intake day by day. I am able to tolerate skim milk with my Protein powder so that's helping a little with the hunger. Also beef broth has been a lifesaver. It's the only clear fluid that tastes like dinner so it's a nice treat. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
