  1. I posted a link on the thread on which I originally made the statement. From that link, you will find the following interspersed: Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side. He is 43.75% Arabic, and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. . . Research the Kenyan records for yourself. You will find that his father was officially classified as "Arab African" by the Kenyan government. . . But in America's current political climate, that truth is heresy; that truth is "an inconvenient truth." It is the political equivalent in our time to what Galileo's scientific pronouncements were in his time: it is true, but nobody wants to know the truth because the lie is so much more comforting. That is why detractors of this truth will do everything to denounce it, except submit to the discipline of actually researching it. FYI, his first and middle names might be a clue as well. From Islam, - FAQs The Senator's first name, Barack, is a Swahili name that has its origins in the Arabic language. The original Arabic root of the name (B-R-K) means "blessed." In Arabic, the root word is used in many other phrases to denote blessings and to describe people who are blessed: Mabruk! = "Congratulations!" Barakallah feek = "May God bless you" Barakah = blessings from God (feminine version of the name) Senator Obama's middle name is Hussein, which was his grandfather's first name. The name, of Arabic origin, means "good" or "handsome one." It is common in Muslim cultures for children (both boys and girls) to have a middle name which directly connects them to their father or grandfather. I agree with you. My sister-in-law is black, from Trinidad. Trying to be politically correct, people call her "African American"; she finds that utterly silly.
  2. I'm home. Guess the one link I provided was sufficient.
  3. Beth, you did so well with your response to that whole wall of rhetoric -- I can't believe you had the energy to do that! Kudos. I do want to respond to this, because this is a misrepresentation of what I said on another thread. What I said was, "Obama isn't "African-American" in the sense of having descended from slaves brought over to the US (as we commonly "define" the term "African-American"). He is 1/2 white, and the other 1/2 is mostly Arab, not African, and the Arab part of his family were slave-owners and slave-traders. He doesn't have one relative that was a slave. In the grand scheme of things, does it matter? No more than his "color" does, but I just find it hilarious that uninformed people cling to his being an "African-American" when he really descended from slave-traders, not slaves." From this you paint me as someone who runs around willy-nilly calling Obama an Arab. The reality is that I correctly pointed out that he has Arab, slave-owning ancestry. There's nothing wrong with speaking the truth. I can't help it if the truth is something that you don't like; that doesn't make it any less true. But don't twist what I've said in an effort to paint me as a bigot.

WHY are people voting for Obama??????

Oh, no doubt. And I think it's critically important to go back to when the candidates didn't have their talking points drilled into their heads to figure out what they really believe. Obama spoke volumes at the Rick Warren thing. His handlers cleaned him up really well after that event.

WHY are people voting for Obama??????

If you listen to the first debate (I can't remember if it was the Presidential Forum / Rick Warren thing or the actual first debate), when Obama was asked where he would cut government, he couldn't come up with anything. McCain had a ton of places he would cut. Obama fumbled through the question and kept mentioning things that he would add to the budget. He couldn't come up with a single thing to cut. Fast forward to the second debate and all of a sudden he had his talking points -- the hatchet/scalpel thing. But if you go back to the first time he was asked the question, he didn't have that cute line in his head yet and you therefore got his real, unrehearsed answer -- he wouldn't cut anything, but rather add stuff.

You're not commanded to route it through a bureaucracy that leaks like a sieve.

WHY are people voting for Obama??????

Wait, what? You don't approve of Bush's spending money (neither do I), but you want Obama because he'll spend more?

Here's a few quotes before I run out the door for dinner. Enjoy! "The marvel of all history is the patience with which men and women submit to burdens unnecessarily laid upon them by their governments." -George Washington "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." -George Washington "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." -Thomas Jefferson "Government is not a solution to our problem, government is the problem." -Ronald Reagan
  9. The information on this abounds, and is not new, and Obama does not deny it. Here's one source for you: Reading Between the Lines: Post, Tribune: Is Obama really African-American? (links to other documentation within, as well). There are plenty of others. Let me know if you'd like a plethora of them, or if you can find them for yourself. I'm leaving the house now but am happy to provide them when I get home.

Here's a great article on taxation. It dispels some of the myths and misconceptions about taxes, and gives you the places where you can confirm the facts for yourself: American Thinker- Print Article It also points out that The Communist Manifesto's second plank is, "A heavy progressive or graduated income tax."

I have liberal acquaintances and family members, but when I'm choosing who I want to spend my precious spare time with, I don't choose to hang out with liberals. I'd tell you why, but you'd be offended.
  12. Care to let me in on the joke? Because I've been dead serious on this thread today. Oh, oh, wait! Do you mean Obama is a joke? NOW I get it!:rolleyes2:

I suspect the reverse is also true. I hear a lot of them are gay :rolleyes2: Yeah, I'd be a lot more successful with my weight loss if I stayed away from chocolate, ice cream, and Skinny Cows.

Ahhh, no can do. My wonderful husband only strips for me :rolleyes2:. {sigh} I can bring some diet root beer and low-fat ice cream and make root beer floats. Does that work?
  16. Um, OK. Glad I could make you laugh :rolleyes2: although I'm not sure what I said that you consider funny.
  17. I never said he was. But that is how others view him, and I think it's hilarious. That's what I said. And yet he chooses not to share that information. Which is why others have to dig it up and expose him. Now I'm the one scratching my head. I didn't define his ethnic background. His ethnic background defines his ethnic background.
  18. For all of you doubters, this came up on MSNBC and NOT Fox News. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27459080/from/id/27481680/ She's an illegal alien, was denied asylum and deported in 2004, yet is still living in the US in public housing in Boston. Your taxpayer dollars at work! P.S. If Obama is so big on being "your brother's keeper", why is his 1/2 brother in Kenya living on $12 a year and his illegal-alien aunt living in public housing? Seems to me just a tiny, itsy-bitsy chunk of his $4,200,000.00 2007 income could have helped his blood relatives out just a smidge.

Hmmm. I don't drink beer. Not only can't I stand the taste, but it's not worth the calories. I'd rather have chocolate. Am I still invited? Everyone else can drink beer and I'll just use the big red pen on behalf of all involved [bwg].
  21. No, it does not, or it should not. What cracks me up about this whole issue is that Obama isn't "African-American" in the sense of having descended from slaves brought over to the US (as we commonly "define" the term "African-American"). He is 1/2 white, and the other 1/2 is mostly Arab, not African, and the Arab part of his family were slave-owners and slave-traders. He doesn't have one relative that was a slave. Obama's aunt living illegally in the US

There's a bit of a difference here. Obama made friggin $4,200,000 last year alone. I am so incensed at his utter hypocrisy. The "illegal alien" thing aside, having a family member in public housing when you make that kind of money -- and preach that everyone should be their brother's keeper -- is outrageous. Having a half-brother who makes $12 PER YEAR and not helping him out is the epitome of "do as I say, not as I do." Give the poor guy a $20 bill!I promise -- it doesn't hurt to give people a hand up. I've done it many times, for non-family members, to the tune of a lot more than a measely $20 bill that will double their annual income.I don't believe in forcing people to do it, like Obama does, but I do firmly believe in (unforced) charity -- ESPECIALLY to family!!!!!!! CLEARLY, OBAMA DOES NOT. Oh, and add to that that this poor woman, in publicly funded housing, donated $260 to Obama's campaign -- ILLEGALLY (because she's not a US citizen). It took the news story's breaking to get him to return it.

WHY are people voting for Obama??????

Here's why people are voting for Obama: Obama Supporters Wait Hours To See Candidate Speak - Videos - WTVJ. Go to about 45 seconds from the end, to hear a woman attending an Obama rally say, "It was the most memorable time of my life. It was a touching moment." Reporter: "Why?" "Because I never thought this day would ever happen. I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, if I help him, he's gonna help me."

I disagree. The Supreme Court has been liberal for years, and still is. It's a mostly 5-liberal, 4-conservative court (with some swaying depending on the issue). The justices expected to retire soon are all liberal, so replacing them with liberals will maintain the liberal swing.
