Bio-oil has a big vitamin E component. It's basically a mix of different oils which is supposedly "the best formulation" for healing and skin repair. Plus, as I said earlier, it's cheap. Can't hurt anyway!
-
Bio-oil? Not sure about in the states, but here we get it at the chemist (pharmacy). It's not very expensive, and a bottle lasts a LONG time. Good luck!

Hey Drew, I have the girly version of that -- some of my female friends just love taking me out to clubs etc, because (and one of them told me this to my face) "I make THEM look better by comparison". Sorry, should I say ex-friends? I kicked those bitches to the kerb about 6 months ago, before I decided on surgery. Just wasn't worth it. I had been friends with them since school, and I went from 135lbs at school to almost double that. So anyway, I started postgraduate university and found myself a new crew. They love me the way I am, they don't know i've had lapband (no-one other than my parents and my brother do) but they know i'm losing weight, and they are 150% behind me. Even if some of your friends treat you differently when you lose weight, they're probably not your real friends. Your real friends will be the ones telling all the sexy guys "Hey, see this lady? She is SINGLE. Get in there!" (One of my friends did this on saturday night. Embarrassing, but a helluva ego boost. Especially when he came over and bought me a drink ) Well, maybe you're friends won't be alerting sexy guys of your presence. Unless you're that way inclined. So anyway, my rant is over. But i think the message is when you change your life as drastically as we will, you find out who your true friends are!

See I'm in two minds about this........ only in relation to one man. We've been best friends since we were sixteen, and we would occasionally hook up, right since the start. To clarify, at 16, I was 62kg (135lbs) which is my current goal weight. So anyway, we would go out, have a great night, come home, sleep together and always just be totally cool about it. The problem is, I go through stages (severe stages) of having real actual serious feelings for him. Like the biggest crush you've ever imagined. Anyway, I love him more than anyone, as a friend and... maybe as something more. I don't know for sure. So anyway, we occasionally hook up. No big deal. We've been doing it since I was 135lbs, and we were still doing it when I was almost twice that weight. At the moment he has been living overseas for six months.... when he left, I was at my heaviest (and we hooked up 2 days before he left), and by the time he comes back, I should be at goal. (He'll be away 2 years). WHEN i get down to goal again... if he still comes a 'knockin, I wouldn't be averse to it at all. I guess because I know that he has been somewhat "consistent" in his attentions, whether I was fat or fabulous. And now for the important question behind this entire story..... AM I A DOORMAT??

Ugh, I have the same problem. I'm totally bizarre though -- most of the time, I have absolutely no drive, but every so often I'm completely insatiable! Ha ha ha that makes me sound like such a whore! Even when I have no drive, I will always "go along with it" because I like to know that I'm making someone else happy. And it's not like I don't enjoy it, even though I have no drive! It just means that I might not necessarily have suggested it, but if he suggests it, then sure!

Would you get breast implant.....??
anniedub replied to gg2007BandSTAR's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ugh, I have the exact same problem. I'm an F cup, but they've gone to this horrible floppy F. I've been remeasured and I'm still an F, but they're just lost all their volume in the top! Whenever I try for cleavage, the skin on the top is so soft, like tissue paper, and very pliable -- it's all the excess skin just sitting on top, like skin on a glass of milk! UGH. And here I was, thinking i'd have youth on my side. I'm less than half way to goal, so i'll just see how it all goes. When I was at what's currently my goal, I was a well-filled D cup, bordering on DD. So I hope I don't go much smaller than that! I would be willing to have a breast lift/implants if necessary, but i'm hoping that they'll just sort themselves out Keep us updated on what happens, Jachut! -
Up top weight loss (ladies)
anniedub replied to la8again's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
In the months and 16kgs (35lbs) lost, I've gone from an 18F/G to a 12/14 F. But it's now a "floppy" F. There's lots of loose skin around the tops of "them". I hate it. I have another 22kg (50lbs) to lose, and I'm contemplating a boob job/lift after i'm at goal. Will have to see though -- wonder if it is better to wait for that sort of surgery until after i've had kids? Hm. Anyway, far too early to be worrying about that now! Still more weight to lose! -
I have had great success with Bio-oil.... but persistence is the key! It can take months to get results on the really stubborn ones, but just keep on truckin. Most of mine are nearly invisible now, thank god!
-
Still two more than you! Mua ha ha ha ha! Don't mind me. I've been writing papers all day, i'm cold, I know i should go and go some exercise before I go to bed but i'm putting it off. Right, that's it! I'm putting on the iPod and getting on the Wii Fit! (wow... i should be in marketing... or just stop being so influenced by it...)

Thanks for chiming in, She Smiles! I'm a big fan of your blog! Woo I feel like a groupie!

Would anyone know?? Birth Control pills !!!!
anniedub replied to jessbychurch's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Indeed, just check with YOUR doctor and follow their advice, they are the one that knows you. I had to start taking the birth control pill ON THE DAY of my surgery, with the first Water I drank after I came out from anaesthesia. Doctor's orders. So just listen to your doc, they know best! -
Well, if that's what your dietician has told you then go for it. My pre-op diet was very different to that -- replace 3 meals a day with opti, no exceptions. Could have 1 cup of vegies or salad, but no potato, pumpkin, sweet potato or corn. Have they told you not to eat any carbs with your dinner? That was the absolute do-not-break stipulation on my pre-op -- NO CARBS AT ALL. But if your surgeon has a different take on it, then just go with whatever they've told you. All surgeons are different, trust that yours knows what he's doing (and he will).
-
Excellent! Well, optifast doesn't really go off (at least not within the next 2 years or so) so if you see it cheap, snap it up! The cheapest I've ever seen it is two boxes of shakes for $85. That's about as good as it gets, even at the discount pharmacies. Make sure you don't do ALL shakes, have some bars as well because if you're doing two weeks of liquids pre-op, then you won't really start real food until 4 weeks post-op.... you really MISS chewing! So make sure you get some solid optifast, or by the time you're post-op you won't want to face a liquid meal... and you'll have 4 weeks of them!

I like the new addition to the sidebar... you know why? CAUSE IT MEANS I GET TO TEASE FENTON ABOUT HAVING NO FRIENDS!
-
Picture located!! Thankyou, Amazon Online Reader! And Fenton, "Martha Stewart Living"?
-
See I don't have a visual, and this is just troubling! Someone will need to remedy this. Nice Toff accent though, Fenton... schooled at Eton were we? Supporter of the Chelsea Football team? :rolleyes2: Nah, I shouldn't joke. I'M a supporter of the Chelsea football team.
-
Wow Tess, you're looking fab!
-
Hey Fenton, A quick "Protein shake clarification" - do you peel your bananas BEFORE you freeze them? I didn't quite think it through yesterday when I chucked my bananas in the freezer, then spent a good 10 minutes trying to peel the goddamn frozen banana for my shake this morning! Not for the faint-hearted! Or I may just be a wimp. It's highly possible.

Deep water workout, sounds great! I used to do "Water Running" (that is literally exactly how it sounds -- "running", neck deep in water, without touching the bottom of the pool) and I loved it. I should actually get back into it! When it's not so cold.
-
If only I had the time! :rolleyes2:
-
Congratulations!

Also to Fenton -- Someone sent me this, and it immediately made me think of the "classiness" debate. Millions of men are suddenly rushing out to buy Wii Fit for their girlfriends.... Hey Fenton, Who loves ya? Unfortunately, can't start reading until all my papers are submitted. If i'm reading a good book, I literally cannot put it down until I finish. Seriously, I don't even stop for food or sleep! Therefore it is being shelved until next wednesday. I wait in eager anticipation!

Hmm, so essentially you're dolling it up for the ladies! I was under the impression you were L.T.R.'d? (Long-term-relationship'd)? Anyway, whatever the cause, looking good is always a happy side-effect!

I've been preventatively using Nioxin since 3 months before the surgery, and this hair loss is still happening. I dread to think what it might have been like if I WASN'T using it....
