Has anyone NOT lost their hair?
J1o9h8n2 replied to RHmama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
7-8 months?!? Ugh. Mine started at about 3 months. I'm at 5.5 months now. It's still happening but maybe a bit less. I really hope it doesn't get worse again in 2-3 months! -
Isopure unflavored vs. others
J1o9h8n2 replied to Kristin84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on the hunt for the perfect unflavoured protein powder. I've tried a few. Usually "unflavoured" means that they don't have flavour added. So these hemp or pea based powders still have a nutty or musty flavour (Manitoba Harvest or Sunwarrior for example) -- not terrible but definitely not flavourless. I love the Isopure one. Works great in soups. Doesn't really change their flavour as far as I can tell. (I haven't tried it in plain water, and I'm sure it's not completely flavourless, but that's not why I bought it.) Haven't found anything better. -
I guess I have that to look forward to shortly! My doctor just said to take biotin and eat lots of protein. If you don't mind my asking, what are you noticing? Is it just thinner hair in general, fallen hairs around your desk and bathroom, etc., or clumps of hair coming out/hairless areas on the scalp?

Suggestions needed..............

I'd love to know what protein powder you use. I tried putting hot water in my regular shake it the protein changed into rubbery clumps. I tried adding a couple unflavoured protein powders to soups and found that they tasted sweet or nutty. Definitely looking to find a solid protein powder for soups! -
Does anyone like this stuff? I have a big container and I don't like the taste. Would love to find it someone who would appreciate it, ideally in Toronto.

Sure if you're interested! It's a 2 pound tub and I've had 1.5 scoops.

Any Post Op MARIJUANA Users?
J1o9h8n2 replied to VivVsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@snogueda I'm in Canada. Medical is legal, and recreational is on the way apparently. My doctor's paperwork definitely sets out rules for smoking (cigarettes), but it's silent on pot. My questions to him were only about smoking after the procedure, when I'm back to my new normal, so I can't say how long I'm supposed to be pot-free before or after. -
Any Post Op MARIJUANA Users?

I'm still pre-op. I asked my doctor specifically about this in the consultation and he wasn't concerned at all. It's medical for you, so I don't think reasonable people can really judge. (Even if it weren't, I wouldn't judge.) Post updates! -
Hey! I'm scheduled to be sleeved on Jan 16 (with mixed support from the people I love)! I'm supposed to start a liquid diet the day after tomorrow. I have mixed feelings. I know this is something I want, and that people's major regret is not doing it sooner, but I can't shake the feeling that things (portions, food choices, well-meaning friends' questions, drinking) will never be the same. I quit smoking years ago without mourning it, but the final cigarette was emotional. Seeking advice or words of wisdom or encouragement as I stop my bad habits, and l say goodbye to overeating, for the pre-sleeve liquid diet. Thanks!

Yay Canadians Out of curiosity, how are the Smartshape shakes? I was told to order 12 boxes. How many vanilla and how many chocolate would you order, if you had to do it again?
