Me Too. I could probably count the times Aunt Flo has come to visit on both hands and feet. I'm 45 so it hasn't been a lot. But guess what she has been here three times in the 3 1/2 months since surgery. I do not like having Aunt Flo visit. I want her to go somewhere and stay forever. M

Another Canasta Addict here. I usually play in the Master's section. Same screen name. But I play at a closed table so I play the computer players. I have a little over 8,000,000 tokens. Taken me a few years to get them too. M

Nana http://www.petfinder.com/ Check out this website they have lots of good info. I have to tell you I have a pomeranian that was a puppy mill rescue. She was caged for three years and only out to breed and whelp. She was heart worm positive and sustained an eye injury that we eventually had to have that eye removed. But my GOSH she is my most specialist baby and I love her beyond description by words. She was one of 40 dogs rescued. I have never regretted bringing her home. Good luck with a new furbaby. Myra

andreerichards you will find folks that had the lapband and didn't lose weight with it. But the thing to remember is the lapband is a TOOL. You still have to make sensible food decisions, exercise and a do other sensible things. You might want to look at Inamed's website.http://www.allerganandinamed.com/products/obesity/us/patient/lapband/prodinfo.html I think I remember where you are waiting to go to an information seminar and you should receive some of this info there but it will be good reading until then. Has anybody tried freezing soda in one of those ice trays with the tiny holes and then munching/sucking on those? Just curious. I know we used to do that for patients in the ICU where I worked sometimes. M

fsc make sure your brother has documents of her arrest record and such for court. Is the custody hearing taking place in Texas? My brother gained custody of his daughter when she was 10 but it was a different state. M

My surgeon told me to use liquid Ibuprofen. I think every doc is different. I use it maybe 2 - 4 times a month. Myra

Same for me as MelodyJ. Really it was more just knowing he was there than actual help needed. Myra

Bless your heart you live in a cold place. Isn't the population in that territory pretty small also. I think I read somewhere around 25,000. Yikes that is great thinking ahead and doing your researching and planning. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Myra

HELP! My doc sent me a letter, they no longer participate with my insurance!
Mvpo8961 replied to Sunta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sunta check with your insurance company to see what other doc is on your plan and see if you can get in touch with them if you need emergency treatment. However a lot of times the situation between the doc and the insurance company will work itself out in a few weeks to months. Most people can't pay cash for health care and the docs need to be able to be part of a health insurance network for many different insurances or they really limit their patient pool. BC/BS is a major insurer all across the country. So you might want to give it sometime to see if all works out. The worst is you could selfpay to see your current doc while you seek another surgeon that is approved by your insurance. M -
Just Got Home From Hosp, have A Question
Mvpo8961 replied to deana923's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My post op diet instructions went like this first week - thin liquids second week - thick liquids third week - soft foods fourth week - regular foods advance as tolerated by days 8 - 10 I was eating soft foods. I was told absolutely no Peanut Butter. However other folks eat peanut butter just fine. I personally don't like it so I don't eat it. Didn't your surgeon give you any guidelines? My doc had a specific day by day what I could eat packet that I had to read before surgery. Matter of fact he read it to me at my preop appointment. -
You could try the lo carb CIB(powder form) in soymilk. Just would give you a different flavor occasionally. My daughter drinks the lo carb CIB and adds a little shot of lo carb chocolate syrup to give it a little extra chocolatey flavor. Well 16 y/o girls need their chocolate right? Myra
