Smacking myself. Whack - Whack-Whack. It could always be worse. I could not have insurance or have to do a twelve month weight loss program first. M:frusty:

Right there with ya 3loves. Called my ins today and they said they sent word to the surgeon that they need to know what facility would be used. So I think I am on the verge of an approval. :pound: M

VQ I know you know this but I am going to say it anyway. When one door shuts another will open. Right now things may look bleak but in a while you WILL see the blessing in this dark time. I have only posted here for a short time (been reading for a lot longer) and you have a galaxy of shoulders to lean and cry on if needed. We are here for you. M:grouphug:

:hippie: Poodles I may be joining ya soon. I called the insurance co today and they told me yesterday they requested the provider to give the name of the facility that would be used. Don't know how that got left off. So it makes me think they are leaning towards approving!!!!!! M -
Would paying for someone else's band be offensive?
Mvpo8961 replied to Wheetsin's topic in The Lounge
Wheetsin I really like the journal idea and the cashier's check in the envelope. Also if she balks at taking the money tell her you are going to use it as a tax write off. But this is really what I would do. I lost my mother when my daughter was 3 1/2months old so I can relate to how hard it is to make the person who is gone real to the grandchildren. I don't know if you already have kids but I would write in the journal a section of how they miss having/knowing their grandmother. Be creative if you don't have kids and make up imaginary ones and what they would probably say. The things they would miss without her here. Like school programs when the parents and grandparents sit and proudly watch the kids. Or family get togethers how lonely they are/would be for her. Christmas and birthday gifts from grandma. You get the idea. I also would take some family pictures and cut her out and paste next to the "journal entries of present/future grandchildren". This would be a visual aid of ?WHO'S MISSING? Whatever it takes to make her understand what a big hole would be left in your lives without her. M:think -

YAAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alright countdown to band day. Let us know when you get your date. :wow2: :thumb: -
Let us know what the ins co says. You might want to check with ReneBean after you get your letter. She had to appeal to the state of California because of denials from her ins. I believe she had BC/BS. But I know she has shared with some others her letter of appeal that she wrote. She won her case. GOOD LUCK. M

What do you think... my hopes are up...
Mvpo8961 replied to Poodles's topic in Insurance & Financing
Well I just talked to my ins co. My LofPD has been in review for two weeks. They will NOT take incoming phone calls into the PreDetermination office. I wanted to make SURE everything they needed was in my file. They told me if they needed anything THEY would contact the submitting doctor. So I called my doctor's office to see if they had been contacted about needing additional info. They have not been contacted and so believe ins co has everything they need. So I am just waiting now. Twidding my thumbs, reading on LBT and a wishing time would hurry! M :scared: :typing:  :pout: :rose:  -

Can I join this little party. My surgeons office manager sent my first packet into insurance on the 13th of February. On the 21st of February I called and they said it had been received on the 20th and was being processed. Well I called the next day just to verify my information was correct and lo and behold no packet. Called daily for three weeks and it mysteriously never showed up in the computer again. After the insurance co asked me to request a refax on info for the third time I figured something was up. So I called the surgeon's office and they refaxed everything. Received on 3/6 by the insurance co and forwarded 3/9 to the predetermination office. So I am IMPATIENTLY waiting for an answer. I am calling every other day and asking if there has been any action yet. I want to cry everytime I see where someone has been approved. But I'm hanging in there like ya'll are. M:peep: -

Look at Dr. Jayaseelan's website http://texaslapbandcenter.com He is located next to Medical City Dallas. He does lots of lapbands and is well respected. M -
I would think that CS would be beneficial. When you are injecting in to the spine you absolutely do not want the patient to move during the procedure. M

The last time I went under for dental work I left the office singing "I feel good na na na na na like I knew that I would now". Trust me I can't carry a tune in a bucket and I don't remember it. But several YEARS later took my daughter to the same surgeon and the staff still remembered me singing my way out through the waiting room to the car. -
leenerbups I haven't been banded yet so I haven't experienced difficulties. But I want you to know as I sit here crying for you I am wishing you a speedy recovery and uneventful journey. M

Hi Machelle I was wondering did you go to school at College Hill and graduate from AHS around 1980? Trying not to put TMI in this post. I think I may know you if you did and you are the Machelle that I remember. I graduated AHS in 1979. M:confused:

Dana I really understand how you feel. I saw my GP in September 2005 to start a six month WL program. After repeated assurances by my ins. coordinator that lapband was a covered benefit I discovered it was not. But only after asking to see the policy in writing. Fortunately it was one hour before closing on the LAST day to switch ins. for the year. The other ins had coverage for lapband. The only reason I didn't switch before was because I was already 4 months in to the WL program with my GP. Now after all that I had to wait for new insurance cards to give to my surgeon. Then they mailed my paperwork in. About a month ago now. I have called my insurance company daily for the last two weeks to see if it had arrived. No has been the daily answer. So when they asked me for the third time to ask the surgeons office to resend everything by fax I figured out something must be astray. So I called ask the surgeons office to resend by fax last week. I was told by the insurance co it would take 48 hours to be in their system. Guess what five days later the answer is still no, nothing has arrived from the surgeons office. I honestly am about ready to go pick up everything and DRIVE it to wherever it needs to go in the US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would have to be less stressful that the waiting and wondering if it has ever even got there. I fully believe any and all catastrophes such as the shifting of the world's land masses, cosmic solar flares, sucking black holes or any other natural or unnatural disaster that can befall my paperwork will do so. So I understand exactly how you feel. I just want to be a screaming meme. M:drama:
