ABSOLUTELY TAKE YOUR DAUGHTER TO THE DOCTOR PRONTO. Once you start exhibiting symptoms it is TOO LATE!!!!!!!!! I have personally taken care of a patient that died from rabies and had to have the series of rabies shot myself. They are not nearly as bad as they used to be. IT IS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. Here is a link to Texas Childrens Hospital that give info on rabies. http://www.texaschildrenshospital.org/Parents/TipsArticles/ArticleDisplay.aspx?aid=1581 Texas is having a rabies epidemic. Myra

SunnyDee you are absolutely right that this is an ongoing and continuous problem with UHC. You can tell from the length of time in my posts that it finally got worked out. Had my surgery 5/19. But it was a real test of my patience before that. Don't let them tell you not to call either. I called DAILY for several months just trying to make sure they had the info needed. If I had not there is no telling how long it would have taken for me to find out that they never *received* it. Once they had all the info I had an answer within 48 hours. It was just making sure they got what they needed that was so frustrating. I feel your pain. Keep us updated on how it goes. Myra

Welcome to LBT these are great folks here. Be sure to put a post in the USA local lapband support section. There has never been a poster from RI. You can be the FIRST. M -
I didn't have one and I peed all over the recovery room bed. Too bad for them. Where did you get the idea that you had to have one? By the way as I came to and realized every time I coughed I was peeing I started apologizing and telling the RR nurse to put a catheter in. But it was too late . M

Just letting folks know we are thinking about them. The last of the May 2006 surgeries is almost here. Let's here it for the Merry Maysters 2006. Myra

My husband and I worked at the same hospital so I peripherally knew of him as the cute guy who worked there. Well we went on a date and two weeks later got married. Only reason we waited that long is it was a holiday week and we thought we had a waiting period of 3 days. Been together almost 17 years now. We were truly made for each other and my heart still thumps when he comes in the door. Oh by the way I had the *THIS IS VERY CORNY* honeymoon baby. Got preggers immediately. Had our daughter nine months four days after getting married. So we have always been together. M

Well I don't speak a second language. But my 15 y/o taught herself ELVISH off the TLOR movie and books. Now that is a useful skill. Kinda of like Klingon on Star Trek. M

I do a strawberry shortcake cake that is similar to VQ. Use a 9 x 13 inch pyrex dish. Take one angel food cake and pull apart into chucks and put in pyrex dish. Take two boxes strawberry Jello and fix in large bowl per box instructions. Set in frig until it is thickish (about two hours) then add either two boxes of sliced frozen strawberries or fresh strawberries sliced and one container of strawberry glaze . Mix this together and pour over the angel food cake chunks and set in frig to finish hardening. Top with cool whip and additional sliced strawberries and chocolate or just be creative. You can can go lo carbish if you want or you can really jazz it up. M -
Let her know we want to hear from her when she is up to it. Tell her congrats also. M

NJChick I have drank diet sunkist exclusively for years. I like the taste flat or carbonated. So I did the same thing except I left two bottles open on my cabinents for three days and they still had carbonation. I can tell you for a certainty DON"T PUT THE SODA IN THE BLENDER. I did. OOPS it wasn't as flat as I thought.:heh: M

I agree!!!!!!!!!! I have sat here and pondered why would anyone want to stand in that line of inevitable fire. It takes a special person to do such a thankless job and my hat is off to our moderators. Thanks ya'll.:clap2: M

LB this may sound slightly crazy but when I can I eat my meal at my computer while reading LBT. I use the clock on the taskbar to time my bites while I'm reading. Started practicing before banding. Of course you could do as Wheetsin suggested and eat with the toothpick while reading LBT. That ought to slow ya down.:heh: M
