High cholesterol post 4 months
bossportsgal posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I'm down 50 lbs since surgery (4 months) and feel great. My labs came back normal expect for my cholesterol didn't move. I'm so mad. Now my pcp wants to put me on medication. I heard they rapid weight lost can sometimes make cholesterol not move right away. Any one out there have this problem. It is genetics too in my family. I'm going to give it another three months to see if it lowers. I was not on meds before surgery so I can't imagine going on meds now? Hahha. -
Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?

Your journey! No ones business. I kept it quiet going on three years. -
Congrats. Down from 225 to 145 but I gained 17 lbs two years out and freaking out. But now I’m back on a new track and will need to lose that extra weight. You look fabulous

Is it ok to have a glass of champagne at New Years? I’m two years post.

I'm bummed that after a Year out I can now eat anything. Although it's smaller portions, I am losing control of the healthy life style. Argg. I was down from 220 pre sleeve to 147 today. But I was 143 and now I'm gaining. I try to stay under 1200 calories. Should I go back to my books and do the post sleeve surgery diet?

Just Curious .. can you handle bread, rice, pasta?
bossportsgal replied to Leo85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Rice is the devil!!! One I eat it to fast and two it never sits well. It hurts so bad. I always say "I will never eat it again" but here I go eating it again. And now I know this is the second time and I promise never again. I feels likes it's coming back up and the shoulder pain is bad. Note to self: no carbs especially rice!!!' -
A year out on December 2nd. Ask me anything
bossportsgal replied to MsShortyDee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost a year out and I am down from 230 to 142!!!! After about the 7 month I was able to eat a little more but get full fast! I am sooo glad I did it. I feel so healthy and thin! I struggle making good choices at times and my old habits come back sometimes but I just think back and look at fat pictures and I set myself straight. I never want to be that way again. I look at a friend who had surgery two years and she gained a lot of weight. I so don't want that. -
A year out on December 2nd. Ask me anything
bossportsgal replied to MsShortyDee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery Jan this year. Almost a year out. Yes you will loose your hair but it's temporary. I have long thick, curly hair and I am horrified BUT you MUST Buy Keranique !! Monthly subscription l! Not kidding after the first month my hair was so full! Couldn't tell I had hair loss and as the months go on my hair will start to grow back and it is two months and I see the difference. I went to a dermatologist and he said don't worry it will grow back. I also take Sugarbear gummy vitamins. So tasty and proven results. It's for hair. -
Concerned about hair loss. Remedies?
bossportsgal replied to PNWlady12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 10 months out and been losing a lot of hair. It will come back. But what works real good is Keratine (Sp) treatment. I bought online. It's expensive ($79) month but comes with shampoo conditioner serum and spray. I'm only in first month but wow the volume it gives is awesome. And I heard hair will regrow within 3 months. I also take sugar bear gummies vitamins. Went to doctor about hair loss and he said be patient it will grow back. -
Healthy beverages besides water.
bossportsgal posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a confusion. I did drink a mixed drink while on vacation day 1. I felt terrible. I didn't get drunk which was good but man did I feel guilty. And it wasn't worth it at all. On vacation in New Orleans, drinking capital of the world. I won't do that again. I honestly don't like water. I try and try to get it down. Besides Powerade, anyone have suggestions on good healthy beverages? Thanks Nancy -

Now that I am down 70 lbs I can't wear my old clothes. I have some nice stuff. I know I can donate, consignment shops never work for me but does anyone have any other ideas where I can make a little cash and buy my new wardrobe. ??

What did you wish you knew before surgery?
bossportsgal replied to boltsgirl1012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That the Weight comes off fast. And you can't wear your old clothes anymore. That you may have gallstones from rapid weight loss. Have them take it out with sleeve -

Social Drinking?
bossportsgal replied to belluhfit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am seven months post and have an occasional. Try to have low sugar drink. Never have carbonation again (sad) so no more beer. (Sad). But I realized (1) I don't really like drinking anymore and (2) it did nothing for me. I didn't get buzzed. Haha. So sticking to maybe a glass of wine if that. I feel too good to go back to the old ways. I'm down 64 lbs seven months out. -
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST PROTEIN TO TAKE?
bossportsgal replied to BGOV1225's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use Unjury unflavored protein powder. I use a half scoop powder in my coffee. It does have s little flavor but it's not bad at all. And has lots of protein. But if your ready your best getting your protein by food. Eat high protein foods. -
I lost 64 lbs seven months post and I have loss skin on arms and of course belly. But what's worse is the sagging boobs. Nothing you can do. It will happen but of course I started saving for lifts!!
