Autoimmune disorders and wls
#1parrothead replied to Patticake74's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Rheumatoid arthritis, hashimotos, and spondylitis. Sleeved on 11/4. Best decision of my life. I haven't had a flair up since before surgery and that's even with going off of my RA meds for 9 weeks. I'm now taking meds every other week instead of weekly. I am walking, jogging, working out. I have energy. I have my life back! I just can't believe what a difference it made for me. #1parrothead replied to crut77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved 11/4. HW 243.5; SW 231.5; GW 145; CW 197.5!! I hit 1-derland this week!!! Can't believe it. Such a great feeling. My weight is coming off slow lately, 1-2 lbs per week but it's still coming off so I'm happy. I have so much more energy. I've been walking and walk jogging and doing a bootcamp. I feel like I have my life back and that makes me so happy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Stressed about a dress! Help!
#1parrothead replied to creatingthenewme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am with the wait to get the dress camp. But I'd suggest going to Nordstrom if you have one nearby. They can do alterations in a one week turn around. They have some beautiful wedding style dresses. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Rhuemtoide Arthritis after VGS your experience
#1parrothead replied to y0lis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
7 weeks out and haven't been on Orencia since 12 weeks ago at least. I've been feeling great, a little pain in hands but nothing like I was previously experiencing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I'm 5.5 weeks post op, 1st week of "new normal." As far as eating goes, I'm only able to eat a very small amount. For instance one egg fills me up or for one meal I had 1.2 oz of meat. So I think I'm full because I start feeling very gassy (belching). But then I'm hungry about an hour later and I don't think I'm getting enough food in (maybe 500 calories per day). Did others go through this? Also, is it Normal to belch a ton after eating, even small amounts? Or is that a sign the food doesn't agree with me? Everything is causing me to belch a ton, even my Protein drinks so I'm having a hard time gauging it. How should I deal with this wanting to eat small meals through the day? It's impossible to do that and get my fluids in. TIA. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

The 500 calories is with my 2 Protein drinks daily. I'm probably getting 5-10 g of protein without the shakes. But the shakes get me to 60 and are 320 calories (for 2). I don't want to rush things, I'm just hungry all of the time and want to fill satisfied occasionally. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

1 wk out can't finish all the protein
#1parrothead replied to H.150ToGo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried the premade premiere Protein shakes? I like chocolate, caramel, and strawberry best. They have 30 g protein each and so I had one for Breakfast and one for lunch. Also just know it gets easier to get the protein in as you heal. I don't think I was getting all of mine in during week one. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Weight gain...getting depressed :(
#1parrothead replied to creatingthenewme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried this? It's got 15 grams of Protein. I love them and they helped me through the full liquids phase. May be worth a try. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I was told it was from gas and will go away with time. 5 weeks out and I only get them about once a week. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

1 month post op!
#1parrothead replied to _bribri1001's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! We are at the same stage and have the same stats (mostly). My 1 month was 12-2. I feel like I could've written the same post! (Minus the walking.) I've not been getting around much, feeling pretty tired a lot. HW 243; SW 231; CW 213; GW 165. Keep it up! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
