KatieBelle started following Jacksonville, Florida, What did you eat the 1st few days? and List of Surgery Dates
-
Hi everyone! Sorry, I have not been on here lately. I had surgery 4/24/08, and the week before & after surgery I lost 18 pounds and according to my scale I have gained 4 pounds back! ughhhhhhhh What is a normal day of food for everyone? It's just my daughter & I (she is 18 & not usually home for dinner) so I make meals just for me. And I must be missing something. I have alot of stuff that is frozen stuff that is quick & easy to make & I only buy stuff that is 0 carb when it comes to meats . I can't eat potatoes or bread ( I tried two french fries & it got stuck, I tried a bite of some really moist cornbread & same thing....so, I havent tried them again & probably never will....which is not a bad thing in my case.... because if I found I could eat breads, potatoes etc...it would not be a good thing..LOL And is everyone doing activity everyday? sighhhhh ....

Yup, 6 PM at Dr C's office. Last meeting was my first meeting, but there was probably 10 or so of us there. It's a lively bunch, but they are funny.

My appointment is Friday too, but I am at 8:30 am ! The meetings are now at 6pm, but you can come in at anytime. Hope to see some of you at the meeting.

Hi group! I just had my surgery this past Thursday. Dr C said my liver was huge & he really wasn't very nice about it:sad_smile:. I guess he thought I had been cheating that last 7 days. He was also abrupt with my daughter:cursing: (she is 18) and my best friend about me not doing what I supposed to. He said he almost didn't do the surgery. My daughter assured him that I had not cheated, and frankly... I didn't cheat, I even stayed locked in my house from saturday till Thursday just to make sure I didn't get tempted. Dr C didn't seem to notice that I had lost 8 lbs in the week since my pre op appt, he also told me I was without a doubt Type II, and when they checked my blood sugar before surgery it was 157, several hours after surgery it was 180 something??? I also had a hital hernia. But, I must be a slow healer.. My surgery was at 1030 (took an hour, because of my liver) and I could not stay awake afterwards, I just couldnt keep my eyes open. I didn't leave there till almost 8pm. I didn't have the strange bowel sounds till sat morning. I started my shakes yesterday (sunday), I only had 2 all day & 2 more today, and the last one was at 4pm. But even now, I feel really bloated up in the belly, not gassy just like swollen & puffy & uncomfortable. My incisions started to ache tonight too, and I feel like chokey in the throat (like there's a lump)... Am I normal? Could I be one of the lucky ones with restriction right off the bat or something? And, I will be at the meeting Thursday!:coolgleamA: I can't wait to weigh!

WestCoastGuy...... Wow! I hardly even know what to say... Your post was so profoundly true & dead on, that it brought tears to my eyes. I am scheduled to have surgery in less than a month & have been good and then very bad all in the same day just from nervousness. And the Dr has a policy that if you are any heavier, even an ounce heavier on the day of your surgery, then he won't touch you. And that is daunting too. But your post rang such a chord that I will not gain any weight before this surgery, I will stay committed to this pre surgery diet, I will start walking everyday (like I should have been doing already) I will make this work! Thank You & HUGS from Florida  ! -

uhhhh I just got the actual approval letter from Aetna & it says I am approved for the coverage date 4/11/08, and my surgery is scheduled for 4/24/08.... does that mean they need to change my surgery date to the 11th??? I am hoping you guys say yes..LOL
