Potential surgery in December....
jconnor6783 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I'm planning on having RNY in December. I recently had gallbladder removed so I'm no longer fearful of surgery or the pain following it. Wasnt that bad. How is everyone after surgery. Do any of you regret it. I have everyone in my life split on it I should do this or not. Half say do it half are saying no. I dont want to make the wrong choice. I'm 350 pounds. I have been diagnosed with IBS and Hope's are that eating less and weighing less will help it with the addition of helping lower blood pressure and getting rid of sleep apnea. I am looking to have the surgery in December and was wondering if anyone diagnosed with IBS has seen it get better after surgery. I am not having it for that reason but wondering if it makes it better or worse. I'd think it wod be better since I'd weigh a lot less and eat less. Currently 350lbs and doctor says I should get to 200 no later than 18 months post surgery Sent from my SM-G965U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

It's not letting me send a message but you can email me. Jconnor14901@gmail.com. I can't have mine until may or June due to needing 6 months of nutrition appointments for my insurance to cover. Would love to keep updated with someone going through it so I can know what to expect. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

Three years ago I started having digestive problems. I've had numerous tests done with no definite answers. They are diagnosing it as IBS even though my case seems to be mild compared to others. I'm currently 350 pounds and am tentatively looking at a June gastric bypass surgery. My hope is that by eating less and healthier along with having roughly 150 pounds less on me will help my problems. Has anyone had digestive problems before surgery and gotten better after? Has anyone had problems get worse? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

My issue has been the frequent urge to use the bathroom. Having had any accidents because I haven't put myself in a situation like that. I really haven't done much in the last few years. Some days are better than others. I'm figuring if I eat less and feel full longer it should help. I generally feel bad after eating meals (I have to eat decent sized ones to feel full) or when my stomach starts to growl. That's when it acts up the worst. I've never spent the night in the hospital or fully been put out. Those are the two things I'm not looking forward to. I've been kinda put out during a colonoscopy but it was an in and out type of thing. Not full anesthesia Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App
