Because the band is clearly working!!! -
Joann - I like when it is gone - it is gone!! That is the fabulous part!!
-
I think I may be experiencing some "survivor mode" as well. With all my exercise - I have been stuck at the 90 lb mark for a week and when the momentum slows down it is a real bummer!!! Being that I still have a large amount to go - I just want to see the numbers start moving again!!! I have tried to add more protein but most days I just don't have an appetite so it is a challenge. Not that I am complaining!! I am finally past the point of being overly tight. Right now I would describe the restriction as absolutely perfect. Too bad it cannot remain that way forever. But no more fills for a while!!!
-
While I have a lot more weight left to go - I don't want to do it in a uncomfortable state with a grimace on my face!!
-
Restriction is different for everyone. I had a fill about 3 weeks ago and am just now starting to loosen up to a comfortable state. I am always so gun-ho about getting a fill but I think this will be the last one for a long time. I really don't need to be tight to keep me on the straight and narrow - my eating habits have totally changed. It is no fun being too tight and I am so glad it is starting to loosen a bit.
-
That is what I do for a living - report to the tax man!! I always remind my husband to make sure he gets that receipt when he drops off the stuff - and then ask him 3-4 times about it throughout the day!!!

Isn't it amazing how the tastes do change!!! I know the feeling of sitting down thinking you might just indulge and then either it doesn't taste so great or the first bite goes down wrong.....either way it is ruined. I am so glad I don't look to food as a comfort any more. After 10 months it has just come a necessity of life and nothing else. Thanks to the band I can focus on other areas of my life.

Wow! This board has really grown!! I have been reading through the posts for the last month and they are very impressive. I found the thread by RenewedHope back when I was first banded and am so thrilled to say that the band has given me the opportunity to return to one of my first loves - running. When I was first banded my knees hurt so bad, I could not climb stairs very easily and experienced a lot of pain. Now I have surpassed the couch to 5K and have become addicted to the running scene again!! My personal best is 4 miles in 46.40 - still not enough to pass Renewed's personal best!!! But I am trying.............. Such good posts everyone. Thanks for sharing!!

Because even I am started to think I look pretty good!!!! -
The absolute best popcorn is "Smart Food" White Cheddar Popcorn. Each bag has 3 gr protein and 9 carbs. Terrific!!

So good to pull out those articles of clothing and try them on and they fit (or sometimes are too big!!) I have four bags of clothes to go to Goodwill and adding to it all the time!! My husband has taken to saying "get some clothes that fit!" but since I am going through them so quickly these days, I am just wearing the baggy clothes until they fall off. Thrilled with the band.

I love tuna salad too - so high in protein and good for you
-
Brandy = what is unjury? I buy a liquid protein from bariatric advantage that has 15 g of protein in 2 oz. I add it to soup or smoothies. Is yours a powder?

Band too tight? -OR- Eating too fast?

WASA - you're still the best - giving great advice/feedback. Haven't seen you on a thread in a while - wanted to say HELLO!!! My last fill left me feeling a little too tight for a few weeks but thank God it has recently started to relax and I fill really good. It is definitely not fun to be overly tight. I have to agree about the Water - it really, really serves the purpose. -
Thanks to all for your kind words and congrats! Clempier - what a healthy outlook! I taught a Women's Bible Study this evening that stressed the need for us to find a "God Perspective" instead of our own....God knows what we are going through every minute of every day - he has promised to be with us all the way through it OR take us out of it if it becomes too much. Blessings to all of YOU!!

Protein, Protein, Protein. I love muscle milk and it has 22g of protein in each one. That is what I have in the afternoon. I might also have an Activa nonfat yogurt or some almonds. I also recently found "Smart Food" white cheddar popcorn with relatively low carbs and it is yummy - if I want just a snack. I have almost no hunger these days. I must remind myself to eat just to get the recommended protein in. I also try to drink a lot of water. I recently had a fill that made me too tight for a while. It is just now starting to relax a bit and give me a little relief. My only hindrance these days is finding the time to exercise. That is when I see my loss come to a screeching halt.:cursing:

Been so busy - haven't been in this group in a while. Hope every is doing great. Celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary yesterday. My husband sent me flowers with a card that read "you look great - spend 20 more with me!" - What a great feeling. God is good. In the good times and the bad..........
-
Silly me - I will definitely meet my 100 lb by 4/30 - I was thinking "onederland!!" That will still be a ways off.........
-
Brandy, Thanks for the math update!! It looks like I am at about 52% of excess and it looks like I will probably be about 10-12 lbs short of my 100 lb goal by April 30 - unless I hit the treadmill even harder than I already am............. Still I am thrilled with my loss to date. I celebrated my 20 year anniversary yesterday and my husband sent me flowers with a card that read "you look great!" - that is a good feeling.

Brandy - our family loves, loves, loves Kauai - we go there almost every year - last year we went to the Big Island and this year we are scheduled for Maui because we want our daughter (13) to experience all the islands for herself. We have never stayed on Oahu - seems to crowded and commercialized for me..........but want to go to visit Pearl Harbor. Sorry to hear about your fiasco - they say even a bad day in paradise is better than a good day on the 48!! ????
-
Hey - does anyone know what % of excess body weight is typcially lost with the lapband? 60% or 40% ? or? I read it somewhere but can't seem to remember what percentage they normally quote........obviously I am bound and determined to push right past that mark but it would be good to know what the studies state as typical.........does anyone know what I am referring to or am I out of my mind???
-
Congrats on new job Brandy - it is awesome when things just fall into place. I left my old job in October and found a position before my resignation date was even at hand - and though it is challenging -I LOVE IT. Hope it works out really great for you!! What island did you go to? We are going to Maui in June.......something to look forward to.

Hi All ~ Haven't been on in forever.....working like a dog through tax season.........Turler - the way it was explained to me is that that somethings rests on a particular nerve that causes the shoulder pain. I experienced it for about 2-3 weeks - and then it just went away....repositioned or something.....there is a write up in one of my lapband books but I can't seem to locate the source right now. I used a heating pad but ultimately found very little comfort or relief. Did you recently get re-banded??
-
My symptoms don't quite sound that bad...... Is your situation just corrected by unfilling? No other procedures?

Hello Christian bandsters - haven't posted in a while but wanted to drop in and say hello. We just kicked off the new season in our Women's Ministry this past Thursday. I was so blessed to have 27 women come into the new class. I have been Women's Ministry leader for over a year now and God is just doing amazing things. The book that we are studying for the next 12 weeks is written by Elizabeth George and is entitled "Finding God's Path Through Your Trials - His help for every difficulty you face." It is going to be a wonderful study. Just wanted to encourage all of you by reminding you that the Bible tell us: His grace is sufficient for us and his power is made perfect in our weakness....(2 Cor 12:9). We have to just turn it all over to him and put our faith in Him knowing that he will bring us through. Forgetting All others I put my Trust in Him Have a great week!
