  1. The day is upon me; The question now what? Having a gastric bypass in hopes that the diabetes will go away. I have heard all the hype wonder what really happens. Doctors always seem to back away from the topic. So thought I would go to the source. What do you guys think will happen. I weigh about three hundred now wondering how quick it will drop away. There seems to be plenty of info on the lapband but gastric is supposed to work faster. Any body with any ideas let me know Thanks
  2. Well the time has come, I have been standing on the sidelines and now am about to take the plunge. Just had my psych and nutritionist visit. Will have the sleep study(what is that about) Tuesday. I do have a question, what is the deal with the excess skin after you drop the pounds. Any body had problems with that. I am about five ten and 324 will I end up looking like one of those Chinese dogs with all the loose skin. Having the gastric to get some help with the diabetes the skin thing is what I am worried about. Any insight would be a great help. Thanks Anthony

Off the sidelines worried about the excess skin

Doc gave me the OK to wait until after surgery to get the machine if needed. Gave me the 411 on the risks. I have an O2 machine that my mom never uses may give it a try. One unexpected side effect is because of all the test done prior to operation I found other things that needed fixin. Have gall stones they are going remove gallbladder and have hernia causing reflux they are going to fix that also during operation. Not much of a drinker but they told me one drink can make you drunk (I am getting the bypass). Thanks for the info Anthony

  6. Any guys out there? I am a type 2 and a big guy it seems mostly women are getting this thing done. Is it ok for guys and are the results different. Any chance I will still be able to enjoy a “small” rib eye after the surgery? I have been on insulin for about a year and it has caused me to gain a lot of weight. Plan to start the process in the next month my doctor has agreed that it is a good option for me. Any special advice for a guy about to take the plunge.

Any dibetic guys getting this done???

Thanks I am in sales and when we get together big steaks are on the plate. I guess it would not be a bad thing to take a few days to ingest a really good steak. I know I need to do this but it will be a change in life style. Can you get away with a little cheating??? Oh well I am a few months down the road have to get my mind ready. Women seem to live to diet, know I should of said that, but , I have never had to until I took this insulin.
