Popcorn safe to eat?
Honeybee17 replied to Estrellita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I have not had any problems eating popcorn at all. In fact it was wonderful except for one problem...I started gaining weight. I researched it and found out it was called a "slider". Meaning that there are not a lot of calories, it is easy to eat a lot of it and there isn't any nutritional value to it, according to the research I found. It made me bloated, caused me some water gain, and I gained a few pounds overnight! I think as long as it is maybe the 100 calorie back, it is probably okay. Just watch your scale and how your stomach is feeling Good luck! -
I have stalled on my weight loss after 1 year post-op. Has this happened to anyone else and what have you done to start up weight loss again? I have about 40 lbs to go to get to goal. I haven't been to the gym in a while because we have moved out of state and now I have a rotator cuff injury. Hoping to start up with at least cardio. Any suggestions on diet though? Has anyone had problems with hair loss after surgery?
Honeybee17 posted a topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
So I am almost a year out in April. I'm am female and 48. My hair seems to be thinning now. I have , unintentionally, stopped taking my bariatric vitamins as we were moving out of state, selling our house, getting settled, getting new jobs etc. Then there was the added stress. I'm wondering if it is just that I stopped taking my vitamins and my protein has reduced or if this is just the way it's going to be. Period. Any thoughts, suggestions, or advice welcome. I am starting my protein shakes back up. -

My god......what have I done?
Honeybee17 replied to FatGuy5000's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had the same exact this and feelings! I did everything you did because I didn't want to feel regrets. Got home after surgery and was regretting it big time! Apparently this is completely normal! It does go away. It went away for me when I started seeing weight loss and started feeling better. My diabetes is gone! My clothes are smaller. I'm exercising. It's not all perfect, but so much better than before surgery. The post-op diet will go by. You will go through the food phases quickly. The first time you get scrambled eggs, you'll feel excited. Why? Because you've reached another level of progress and it's like a reward! Look at each new step as exactly that...a step toward progress and a reward to a new life! I promise you that the feeling of regret did pass for me and should for you too. I know it's hard, but hang in there! -

Not losing weight

It absolutely will come off. Your body is trying to adjust to its new regimen and eating lifestyle. By three following week you should the weight start coming off again. It did for me. -

Has anyone had problems with hair loss after surgery?

I didn't think about menopause. Maybe I need to talk to my doctor about getting checked for that. I haven't had any symptoms that I know of. Thanks for the suggestions! -

I am about 10 months post op and have lost about 60 lbs, which includes some weight gained back. I am starting back to the gym which got derailed due to a big out of state move, new jobs, etc. I need to get back on track as I can tell a difference in energy level and don't want my health to start suffering again. Did anyone have this happen to them? What did you do to get back on track? Any advice would be appreciated! Please no lectures... I'm human, after all.

There has definitely been a lot of stress! You're not wrong there. I think I've been eating more because of it too. I've always been a stress/emotional eater. Thank you for the advice. I didn't even think about my stress levels until you said that!

2 1/2 months out and having problems while eating.
Honeybee17 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
While eating, I start to get a few hours in when I start to get what feels like food stuck in my throat. I feel as if I am eating small bites, chewing thoroughly, but it stl feels like it's stuck. Does anyone who is or was at this point post-op, ever have this problem sand any suggesting about what I could be doing wrong? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app -

Hmmm...like last night, I made polish sausage and sauerkraut. I was on my second bite when I started to feel it. I cut the sausage thin and then in half. I chewed it thoroughly. I must be doing something wrong. Lol..Maybe I will start my eating phases over again and try to relearn how to eat again. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app -

2 Weeks Post-Op and feeling a little regretful?
Honeybee17 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 2 weeks out and wondering if anyone else had ever gone through the "regret" phase? I hope nobody criticizes me. I just want to know if this is common our of I'm alone. If you can't help me, pleaser don't comment anything negative or nasty. I don't want to feel worse. I don't know if it's because I miss eating like I used to or miss eating certain foods. Anyone ever go through this and if so, does the feeling go away? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app -
