I had surgery two weeks ago and I feel like I didn't have surgery. I know its still extremely early but I feel like my eating isn't as restricted as it should be. I'm worried that this way not work. Hey everyone! Just curious, how often do you weigh yourself? I am 4 days post op and have already made the decision that I will only be seeing how much I weigh on my scheduled doctor's visits. I've noticed a lot on IG that people weigh themselves daily and get discouraged. Yes, bypass helps but sometimes you will not lose weight or sometimes you won't lose what you want. Surgery on the 14th and I've been very lucky. I had a great over night stay at the hospital. The pain was minimal. I experienced pain and a tight feeling across my chest. I seem to get winded quickly when walking for too long. Other than that, I'm great. No pain meds. The hardest feeling part is trying to be creative with this stage of the diet. I have told many people. I've told all of my close friends, family, and co-workers. I know that the change is expected to be quick and I don't see how that could have been kept a secret. I am a teacher though, and I chose not to tell my students. I do not want any of my overweight students to feel bad about themselves or believe they need to have surgery. I have been overweight my entire life. I lost 77 pounds through weight watchers once but that was a slow process. Those that weren't supportive, I'm fine with. They can do research and see why I chose to have surgery or keep their negative comments to themselves. This was for me, for my health, and I'm not ashamed. I was told I would have blood in my stool due to the cutting inside and the blood has to exit somehow. If it lasts longer than two days though, I'll be calling my surgeon Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
